Yep that was before everybody turned pussy

But do you really want a chance at infection?
@@thecolorpurple4807 no but I didn't keep them as pets lol
It is to (the gloves) keep the human odours away. So mice aren't cautious or suspicious about the new food.
I like how factual and without emotion this is.
1950. When men were men and communists were hated instead of listened to.
Interesting to see how public health worked in the 50s.
I must have gotten caught in another CZcams Time Warp.... all the recommended viewing ----->
is in black and white..:(
Me too...All old films.
I love the narration. So knowledgeable and calming and forthright
No animals were harmed in the making of this film.
I've had a similar rat infestation, in the garage. I placed rat poison that effectively kills them. But there is another problem with rat poisons. Like it says in the video, rats take the food to their nests and die there. For that, I don't like rat poisons because the rats dies in nests, behind walls and other inaccessible places, therefore dead rats can't be removed, unless you tear the walls apart. So, they start to decay and stink like hell for weeks. The same with rats and mice entering or residing in the roof. They eat the poison and then die wherever they are then within 2 weeks they start to decay (rot) and stink like crazy, more dead rats decaying, more smell there is and each day the smell enters the rooms through the heater/air con vents. Even trying to remove them is almost impossible as they are hard to find in between insulation batts or in shred paper insulation. The smell can linger for weeks, even months if there is poor roof ventilation. So, since then I have sealed any roof entry, removed tall trees close to the roof, as the rats, like the Possums, can climb trees and enter through tiles or metal roof by jumping into the rain gutter and squeeze through from under the tiles or steel roof. They can easily jump 3-4 feet from the tree and the gutter. So, I opted for a live rat catching cage similar to a bird cage but only one way in, or a large bucket half filled with water and two revolving slippery drink cans. In the middle of the cans there is a wooden wheel of same diameter as the cans, only one and half inch wide and packed with peanut butter. They love peanut butter. They attempt to reach the food by climbing on the cans, the cans rolls and the rats fall in and drown. Weekly cleaning of the bucket is necessary, otherwise that will stink too.
I don't think the narrator said "tracking patch" enough times.
Wow. They predicted the prominence of 1080p back in 1950!
1080 water
This is the kind of movie where one would expect a nuclear device as part of the solution.
Lmao 🐀
Well....it would work.
We must be careful now…We don’t want Ratzilla showing up.
I feel like I need to wash my hands after watching this video
Very classy and professionally made video, dapper oldschool narrator especially.
Why not control pest via their reproductive health? Is there some kind of a anti pregnancy pill for rats and cockroaches?
no idea about roaches, but there is a rat birth control, but Its insanely expensive $60 for 2 months worth of it.
DDT dust... WOW.
Brings back so many memories.
some good tips from an old film
Chris Andrews, I agree. While some of the equipment and poisons used have changed since 1950, the principles and techniques are still legit.
How do I become a rat eraticator chef?
During the filming it was nice NOT to hear..."awe the poor little disease carrying rats are being killed". Ppl had sense then.
This was a really nice, and interesting video. I love to see rats getting theirs- Great viewing!!
Don't call your mom and dad/mom that...
Stan wedle There is a major difference between pet rats and wild rats. One is clean, and the other is filthy. Who wants filthy creatures crawling around their homes and businesses?!So keep your rude comments to yourself, and have a nice day😁😁😁!!!!!
You lost your chance to write "This was a really mice".

Compound 1080 (Sodium fluoroacetate) was first use in the United States as a predacide to curb coyotes. Prior to 1972 when the EPA canceled all uses, sodium fluoroacetate was used much more widely as a cheap predacide and rodenticide. It was in 1985 the EPA finalized the restricted-use "toxic collar" approval.
U.S. NIH NLM NCBI PubChem entry about 1080: pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/compound/16212360
One has to respect rats for their intelligence and their courage (I`ve been attacked, to their detriment). But they are almost as destructive as- - well, as WE are. Rats destroy about one-fifth of all agricultural produce worldwide and harbour around 50 diseases transmissible to humans so it`s our job to eradicate them wherever we can.
Farmer Willi in Canada.
oats mixed with plaster of paris will give them a terminal case of constipation.
For Pete's sake put some gloves on!
+Natalie Rodriguez Fuck Pete
Natalie Rodriguez how do you know his name?
I fucked Pete he wasn't that good.
And after all that hard work, lunchtime!
He uses soap and water. Disposable gloves were not a thing in 1950.
This movie was made in 1950. At 1:43, the narrator mentions "It is the Rat Eradicator's job to get rid of every last rat remaining in the premises." I sure hope in 1950, this guy was getting paid more than minimum wage. If he was an enlisted man in the Army, he got paid his little pay and did his duty.
Damn. It's no wonder why red squill was banned. 24 hours is too long.
This helped soo much thank you!
Gorgeous scales though...Are these triple beam?
this video really sums up 2020. How did this get in my recommended?
2023 🤣
1080p or 1080i which one kills the rats faster?
Handling dead rats with bare hands...? They should have used gloves or long forceps!
People were tougher back then.
Also, the free market economy was so good back then, even the rats had bathtubs and Jacuzzi’s.
it's 1940's was never perfect of intelligence science as today.
No OSHA yet back in the day
There is an ancient technology called "washing your filthy hands".
Try it out, it works.
You will not be - all of a sudden - riddled with AIDS, just because you touched a dead rat.
ahh the good old days, poison poison poison.
24:09 damn I wasn't expecting him to hammer it to death but that's dope I guess
Hammer? I didn't see a hammer. I only saw a mouse trap.
takeitindballs
What the fuck are you talking about
takeitindballs chew my food
... I wasn't expecting them to touch them AT ALL, least of all without gloves. But, the idea of "germs and parasites" was different back then...
takeitindballs
Or a microwave? WTH? What you're talking about sounds more like sadistic torture for fun. There is a line, even if you refuse to see it. Killing rats to protect the public from disease is not the same as microwaving an animal because someone has mental issues.
2:01 NO gloves?!
obey2018, the year was 1950. Duh!
I wonder what part of Atlanta thats in
I'm sure it's in a Waffle House
how can i get that 1080
nano j Go to Australia. They use it to kill all sorts of feral wildlife. Dogs, pigs, feral cats..
Can any of the mentioned chemicals be used recreationally by humans?
Try it yourself.
YES ! Go ahead, be my guest, you can be the first. If you survive, let us know. How did you feel? What was it like ? Did you feel like a rat ?
@18:35 And he kept the BUCKET! LOL
brilliant video
Every year about October, I get a few mice in my home. Settling in for the winter.
I usually set out about 6 mouse traps with a non-mixable nonchemical substance called peanut butter. The only hassle is the oily gooey on my fingertips loading the traps with said peanut butter. I usually have 2-3-4 mice eliminated. What I want to know, is where can I find that white tracking powder. But I don't think that would be too good for my carpet.
The video suggested several different substances, but talc would be the easiest to get because it's used in so many things. Chemical and industrial supply houses, plus Amazon also carries it.
Talc is no longer sold due to the presence of of asbestos. (Think J&J) Try diatomaceous earth. Flour of corn based powders are bug attractants.
I've never seen a rat that could survive a Victor Rat Trap.
What did you do in the Army grandpa?
I ate rats son! hohohoho.........
I was an infiltration control specialist, very classified.
"I beat rats with a hammer, Timmy"
LOLOL @ these comments!
This guy is a trained professional
24:17 HAMMER TIME!!
Damn let me get some of that poison. Idgaf
At 35:30, is the beginning of building the inner city urban "Projects" and all the problems created by the high-rise apartments that all our biggest cities have/had from the 1950's to today.
interesting video .. good information
@21:15 antique case of Bud at 10 O'clock
Holy shit, good spot...
I didn't realize rats don't vomit.
stopp waffling, just killem! very inspiring movie, thank you!
Back in the 1980's I worked in Maintenance Dept. of Blue Diamond Almonds....they had a guy that spent most of the day going on a 'route' of rat traps, then they did 'autopsy' to see what they ate....so as to put out better bait.
Doesn’t sound too bad. I’ve had worse jobs.
Oh, GYOSH! I EAT those almonds!! I feel sick.
@@flxmkr Not only that, but almonds and many other food products are actually allowed to have certain number of insect parts...those tiny legs...you know, they won't hurt you...and yes, rodent hairs too...
but I must admit, Blue Diamond did spend a lot of time working on a good safe product...
douglas Ankrum I can handle a rodent hair. I have a hamster. I just can't handle the idea of a rat falling in the stash and dying. "Does this one look like it has blood on it?"..."Hold it up to the light...nnnnnnno, we're good. Toss it in the can and seal it shut...ship it on out with the rest"
@@flxmkr yes almond is the best nut. Who knew it's got different titles like 'blue diamond'. bet it's the same taste like any almond lol.
Great way to have decomposing rats in your walls.
Better than live rats pooping in your food supply.
lol, why do I feel like they were WAAAY more thorough than they are now with making sure they are all dead. Using Multiple traps, multiple poisons, and watching their tracks. My landlord just paid like two grand and the dude barely did anything but put down two stations to kill the mice. I did more, and set more traps than a pro did lmao
Well, for one thing, you probably noticed this is an Army video. There’s a reason that those of us in the military called civilians “silly-vilians”.
The military is organized and thorough. A civilian pest control worker with a GED isn’t going to know or care to do a good job. Many can’t even explain the poison their using.
12:40 Arsenic.. yea this was the -50 when no one gave a fuck. Gloves sure, but the dust in the air? Im surprised if this person didnt get severe health issues quite fast, but thath was quite normal these days in USA.. jees.
lmao why they wrote the chemical names with vertical side
This is so much fun!
No gloves, no respirator... who needs to use those sissified crutches when you've been eating from the hantavirus , bubonic plague kitchen.
Agreed...rubber/latex gloves are for wimps.🐀☣️🧚🏻♀️ {edit: I am of course kidding}
They knew about bacteria, but viruses were not well understood back then.
@@BigD-jc6rj It was the electron microscope that made viruses be seen...
As a kid I asked for a microscope, and got one with 300x...I was disappointed it didn't show bacteria!
But I loved that scope. Still got it.
lol the ending was brutal
im having Bio shock flash backs lol
sir name is poison plz pls pls ???
Does that still work on rats or have they been resistant to that since MCMLIII?
Bobby Blackbeard e it by.
Bobby Blackbeard do you know what those two are originally used for ?
amazing
I read ammonia soaked rugs deter rats. Or bowls of it....
Also deters raccoons, and other animals.
Time to get back to the rat killin!
Why don't they wear gloves when handeling poison torpedoes and when lifting dead rats?
06:22 RIP ratty, that's a hard way to go.
I was hoping the flame thrower method was going to make the top ten. Bummer. Hasn’t someone invented a bait that prevents them from reproduction? If they get past the squill mix at least no more litters.
good job
Muito que faziam esse trabalho,já morreram.
If you have pets, keep their food in an airtight container. Do not leave but food in the cages over night and make sure seeds are swept or vacuumed before dusk. Rats and mice smell the seeds and the bird owner WILL get an infestation of seeds are not cleaned up each day. Rats and mice are nocturnal, so they will try to find the bird food at night. Don't give them a reason to enter your house.
Also, if you have an outdoor bird feeder, do not overfill it. Birds are messy eaters and will knock seeds on the ground. Rats will find the seeds and may try to enter your home after consuming the spilled seed from bird feeders. You don't have to be the one to feed the birds. Nature supplies.
One more thing: rats are smart. They will send the stupid or weak rats out first to sample food. If that bait rat doesn't die from eating food, they will eat it themselves. But they have a good memory. They won't return to a place they have seen other rats die or suffer.
The 2 guys in the room drawing up their battlefield with wax pencils had me dying!!!
It's no wonder people lied about what they did in the military.
Great share, thank you. Was almost starting to feel sorry for the little buggers,
Fenn trap 6
Kraller never
Why? Rats are a serious health hazard...and they bite.
Red squill, interesting compound 🤔
did not know warfarin is used as a rat killer.
Prepare for Trouble, D-Con brand rat poison uses the anticoagulants. Yes, warfarin has been used for so many decades that it’s no longer effective as many communities of rats have genetically become resistant to it.
totallyfrozen true
Humans must be careful when taking their RX warfarin or too high dosage can cause bleeding. Must balance with the counteracting blood-clotting vitamin K in dark green leafy vegetables, etc.
momma mia thatsa spicy meatball,, with a minor change in the recipe.
i saw a rat electrocution trap in another video
Mousetrap Mondays, anyone?
Air rifles are best for rats... poisen is a awfull death... I wouldnt even kill rats with poisen its almost not Fair ... at least a pellet ends him quickly and without suffering...
This was so satisfying to watch all those rats die
Kinda messed up but i enjoyed it
I believe that is 1940, not 1950.
You're wrong then.
That is a good idea,. I'm going to make some torpedos with some Plaster of Paris.
How is the outcome? Does oatmeal, peanut butter, flour or any foods the rats love to eat mix with plaster, hot mud/fast setting joint compound or cement works? Almost everyone want to end mice infestation.
Documentary on gang stalking. Very informative. Thanks...
I have a Neighbor Next Door that's a rat how can I eliminate him..and get rid of him. He's a rotten filthy rat that calls the cops all the time.
Why no gloves???!!!!!! uhhhh
And no respirator.
LOL! Duh!!!
It was 1950
That is why we have immune systems. Jeez!
Try as they may, they could not slay the mighty rat!
I don't know where you can buy red squill, tho I see squill for sale on Amazon. Used to be you could get phosphorus rodenticide -- that's if you really wanted to kill you some rodents
The narrator sounds like Mike Wallace.
This video freaking terrifies me
don't be a pussy !!!
Infestation in Washington DC
it is not funny - it is a sad truth
A flamethrower would work best there.
DemocRATS indeed!
....then in berlin/germany we have a big rat here called MERKEL.
MERKEL was never good, she lies and talk shit and crowling people in the arse. I know someone who had known her at university and even then she was a stupid cunt!
Good ol' DDT
Was that the tracing powder to tract footprints? Could use regular all-purpose flour.
@@dougl6304 looks the same I was just referring to the poison
I clicked hoping to see clever US army rat traps, devices, and such. The steel mini-bear trap was cool and gives the person a chance to vent frustration on a living rat which is okay, I guess, but f*ck me the rest was horrid af!
Towards the end I was wondering if they will show a mini train set where rats got tricked into buying a ticket, taking them to fully functional miniature showers !
WTF *NIH* ??? Seriously?
Hahaha feral cats go brrrrrrrrrr
Is this a horror movie?
replace rat with... .
Rat eraticator
A masking agent? Shit.
We had to use wolf traps over in the sandbox to kill ours 🤣😂
Handles poison no gloves. No mask..
Poor kid..
2:28 example this rat proof kitchen, no chances should be taken, the rats spread poisen to human food..
4:41 throws a shit load of poisen in the "rat proof kitchen".. LOL
5:12 sees a rat, in the rat proof kitchen!!!!!
7:34 great now u got a dead rotting rat in your wall...great solution!.
the rat guy in the video died 20 years before hes time was up!, for sure!
30:08 he is just throwign poisne all over the place isnt he!,
rat eats poisen, rat dies
bird of prey eats rat, bird of prey dies
wold eats bird, wolf dies...
31:42 look at all the junk!, no wonder they got rats!
Since when do people start using rats as pets?
Look, pal, I'm friends with a rat and he's not that bad.
May take up to 6 days to die. That sucks. Hope I'm not a rat in my next life
Got hammered....... felt like s**t the next day.....
