Andrew’s play the whole set was insane. Well deserved after that game 1 comeback
That comeback in game 1 was absolutely insane! This guy was behind 4 prizes facing down a fully set up Gardevoir board with only a damaged Greninja, no cards in the lost zone and still won! Love when the finals comes down to a third game, so intense! Congratulations to Andrew, played out of his mind 🥇
I confess I called it GG for Garde waaay to early. Credit to Andrew and that piloting.
It was a breathtaking set, constant back and forths with an amazing finish.
I just started playing the tcg and bought the Garde ex league battle deck! I was feeling a little self conscious bc so many people were shitting on it but this NAIC definitely made me feel like a proud Garde player 😂
I’ve obviously had to go find some single card upgrades tho
This finals was intense!!
The best I've seen. Great games to both players. Flutter Mane was the MVP for Stephane.
Straight up masterclass from these two!
Hedrick won the indianapolis champion with dialga vstar in last month
This month he used lost box for NAIC
I was here at NAIC and met both of these guys and they're great 🎉
Even Stéphane? Seems insufferable on Twitter.
Set game of the year?
I saw this guy beat Tord, and now pull out the insane game 1 and win this thing. My goodness he is legit.
Considering Gardevoir was very favored going into naic I will say it was very smart of Andrew and other players to go with lost box as Gardevoir has always generally had a bad matchup against it. Since Gardevoir decks don't really play jirachi anymore that makes the matchup much more difficult as you are more prone to sableye lost mine plays.
It's actually very tough for the lost box player if the gardevoir plays both the klefki and flutter mane - you can't bundle them, it's much easier to find one, and the flutter mane itself is an insane attacker against the deck.
This is why I played both :)
@@lordblaziken7724 Hope you had fun at the event. How far did you get?
I love the gardevoir ex deck but its also so hard to play it.
It is hard and also fun..and got variety of cards..can play banette way,can play control or their way(cresselia+munki)
My fav is garde and lost box
This is Amazing!
Anyone know why Andrew didn't trigger Comfey before Klefki came out in round 1? Still learning Lost Box.
Stephane went first and got the Klefki in the active first turn. Andrew hadn't taken a turn yet.
@@stevenrussell6920 Oh duh. Ty!
Do I miss something here or how is Stephane allowed to through his deck for almost 1 minute and 30 sec when he played nestball first turn?
most players use a deck search to process of elimination figure out what is inside or their prize cards to help plan for future moves in the game
@@rubytheecho Ty captain obvious... what i meant was that afther x seconds you need to make a action. Its bs to give players time to write down all their prize cards. The judges simple ignore the rules and thats bs.
@@vanommen4647bro every pro player does that .
@@vanommen4647this is irl not ptcgl
The judges can intervene when it is deemed necessary OR if the opponent calls for a RV. Given the nature and stakes at this level of competition, it is fairly common to give the opponent a minute or so during the first search of the game to assess prize cards before moving forward.
You are allowed 15-30 seconds for a search and decision, so instead of maxing a search duration everytime it is much better for game tempo in the long run for both players to take their notes at the start, due to the prize searching not being necessary post T1.
It sounds like you play primarily online, if that isn't the case I am unsure how you are not aware of this. If you do intend to play in person more, you should become more aware of typical processes so that you don't ruffle feathers for no reason.
My lifespan was shortened by that game one ending coin flip.
but why did he had to toss a coin for the that last play?
@@jonathanmarin3522Iron Hands was confused via Munkidori’s attack prior, a coin flip had to be done in order for the attack to go through
misplay of the century by stephane in game 3
As a rookie, I want to ask why the final game Moonlight Shariken get 4 prize cards and end the game?
It didn’t take 4 prizes, time was already called ( 0 minutes left). When that happens whoever is currently playing is turn 0 (here Stephane). From then there are only 3 more turns and whoever is in the lead on prizes by the end of the last turn is the winner. So Andrew was turn 1, then Stephane had turn 2 and then Andrew had the last turn, turn 3 where he took 1 prize by knocking out the Klefki with Greninja which put him down to 3 prizes to 4 and won the game
@@Kamishurikenyou missed a part. In the end andrew with moonlight suriken points to 2 pokemon on the bench.
So what happened is that prime catcher brought klefki as active which shuts down ALL basic pokemon abilities so manaphy was not protecting anymore. That's how he got 2 prizes and he won 2 to 4 prizes.
Ofc killing just klefki would suffice LOL
@@weekendwarrior1864 oh you‘re right! That’s a pretty neat interaction and way to turn somebody’s Klefki against them :D
Hi every pros, Im just confused as for game one iron hands was confused, why did he roll a dice instead of coin?
Iron Hands was confused because of Monkidori attack makes the opponent pokemon confused
@@matiasss75 thank you for reply, but y he throw dice instead of coin?
@@justinchan1263coin is just janky . Dice act like a coin too based on whether ITS odd or even and coin can be easily manipulated
@@ricecake1814 oic thank you!
@@justinchan1263 Its just a matter of preference of the player. both dice and coin are equally accepted
how did Hedrick win game 1 I cant understand
Im confused, why Andrew won he last game when he still had 4 prizes left?
The time is up and the winner is whoever having the most taken prize card
Bou seems like a great person. But I am just not a fan of her commentary. I think she works great as a host but not a commentator.
Agreed kind of seems like she lacks knowledge no offense
Bou has got to be my least favorite commentator. She just repeats what her fellow commentator and doesn't add much in terms of analysis. Joe is by far my favoirite beacuse of his understanding of the game at a high level.
Why can’t players jus finish the game what’s point of time
This battle took way longer then it needed to. Good joh on andrew for stalling as long as he could
Yea he knows he Will win if it goes to game 3
Azul need diet food 😬☝🏼
Shut up
Why is that balding man wearing nail polish
