People getting drunk and getting on the radio with their drama is nothing new. But it is a guilty pleasure to listen to them go after each other. I have duel licenses but I stick to the ham bands. The Baofengs don't have very good receivers. But for $30. You can't complain.
@@UkrainianBazooka I heard someone test a Yaesu and a Baofeng on the radio. The Baofeng sounded louder. I am not saying that Yaesu radios are not good. Randyspeak. They issue FRS licenses to families, but that little worm hijacked GMRS, Proudly sponsored by a reseller who denies it's even true. I'm spoken with them. Please don't encourage him. Complain.
FRS can get pretty bad in my area just like CB it's like being on CB. Sometimes you can't even ask for a radio check cuz they'll tell you to go f--ck yourself. After that they'll tell you to get off their channel.

Take consolation in the fact that barking dogs hear each other farther away than those little radios do on simplex. GMRS serves no critical purpose We need Jerry Springer.
When I was on CB radio back in the 90s to the late eighties it was the same bull crap. So here I am in 2024 trying to get my gmrs license. There is just such a big loss of respect for each other weather if it's on two-way radio or the internet . But if radio users would record radioactivity and report any threats to law enforcement considering if they didn't put a fake address on their license police can easily track them down down . Gmrs is kind of dead in my area not very active and neither is ham radio. But you get a few users here and there .
Some people are just sad. Its not limited to HAM. Had this insurance guy with their bud speak lowly on the phone to fam cause she does has the most American sounding voice (born American but raised outside the US). He was laughing at her too. Making stupid jokes. Belittling her accent. Little did he know I was just listening to it all. I jumped on and boy did he straighten up when I told him "you know phones can have more than one person on the line right?" I didn't even mention recording anything and they got scared real quick and became yes men to anything I asked for lol.
You know.. Chicken band radio I'd expect it. But fyi... FCC is for some reason is up in arms and out and about again giving fines and shutting down stations. Uncle charlie plays for keeps and the fines are ludicrous. Last idiot who made the news was $24,000 in fines. took hit ticket and his equipment. You gota pay to play. Some need to play to find out. Happy DX to all 73
Man it’s a shame people act like that on the radio, sadly it happens everywhere and on the repeaters here in NY state, I want to get on more but thinking having my own repeater for GMRS or just doing simplex with certain people is best.
The easier ones with a usb c would be my recommendation. I just reviewed a uv17r. It has a ip54 rating which isnt much but it has usb c and 999 memory channels and can me programmed but isnt supported by chirp . But for $29 its way better than most radios . Itll tx on gmrs and it has really good speaker and audio reports are good too. RADIO affiliate link amzn.to/3QO5dw0
I assumed ham radio. But if its gmrs you can get specific radios. But if you dont have a ham or gmrs license, I would just get something very simple and call it a day.
I use to listen to this crap on CB years ago now it seems to get on Ham Radio and on The Zello app from time to time on some of there channels people need to get better things to do.

There is a 700 repeater on the air here in San Diego but transmits from Tijuana MX. The station has no ID and can't because its illigal in Mexico. The users transmit music, profanities and all kinds of nonsense. Some of the locals here have had enough and are blocking the input with nonstop keying.
CB radio... GMRS is part 95, just UHF CB. But typical lowest common denominator. This is the reason I love P25 and MotoTRBO with RAS (Restricted Access to System). No cat calls, no morons, no low lives making empty threats with virtual balls: just intelligent conversation with individuals with technical skills and quality equipment with static, noise or hash and trash. GMRS round these parts is hogged by one guy who wants to force you to use his simulcast system taking up all 8 repeater pairs. I'll pass. Ham radio is much more fun anyway.
