- I bought the Canyon Stoic 2, already modified by a previous owner and I absolutely love it!
Canyon did update the 2023 Stoic model range after I uploaded this video. The frame is the same, so this video is still relevant :)

I wish I spent more time researching before making a purchase last year. I bought my first full suspension bike after only riding hardtails my entire life. I should've went with a stoic in size S that comes with 27.5 wheels instead of a size medium 29" full sus, thinking about selling it now to get one of theses, I miss having more control over the bike and I didn't need a rear suspension for the type of riding I do, so big regrets
If I hadn't purchased my 2022 Specialized Rockhopper comp with airfork upgrade and a few others like upgraded brakes and pedals, I would've went for either this or the marin San Quentin.
yooo waar zijn deze trails en pumptrac? ziet er allemaal hard uit
I'm a Shimano guy and after waiting for two years, today I finally pull the trigger on the new 2023 Stoic 4. Same price as the previous model ($1750) but full Shimano Deore groupset + 4-pot brakes (instead of SRAM NX), DT Swiss wheels with 370 Ratchet LN hubs (instead of Alex Rims), same Pike Select fork and the Canyon 170mm Iridium dropper. I believe it's a good deal for that money.
enjoy!
Where are you seeing that? Canyons website still has the stoic 4 with the sram group set.
@@rageassist1959 What country site are you looking at?
@@The_One-Eyed_Undertaker United states. im assuming other countries got the better end of the deal lol
@@rageassist1959 I'm in Europe and my bike is being assembled in Canyon's HQ complex in Koblenz, Germany. Canyon has its own assembly facility in the US, so maybe you'll have to wait a couple of months to order the new model with the Shimano spec.
How does this one compare to the Roscoe 6?
Bought one yesterday 120€ of had to pull the trigger cuz i have been waiting for an xl to be in stock when i have money for 2 years😂
I'm stuck over the decision of whether I should get a Canyon Stoic 3 or a Marin San Quentin 2. According the Hardtail party, the stoic frame seems to be very stiff, and the sram sx eagle is not very good, but the four piston brakes seem to be better than the shimano mts on the San Quentin. Do you have any advice or any other options there are?
sram sx is not bad. basically is the same that nx but weight more. you can always change rear derailleur for NX and you set. 4 piston brakes are more important than drivetrain
Hi there, i currently have a trek slash 8 2016 which is an enduro 160mm travel bike (feel a bit overbiked) and i wanted something that would be better for local flow trails jumps and pump track. something that would also make xc trails more intresting. and be better at climbing
im currently stuck between choosing the Ragley Marley 1.0 , canyon stoic 4 and the Nuke proof scout 275 comp.
i dont really need stable and fast id rather have something thats more playful and good at cornering. what do you think would be best as a 2nd bike?
all them would be 27.5 for my frame size
i think it weights a lot though.. compared to nukeproof or ragley
Where can I buy the stoic 2
Would you recommend getting a size medium as someone who's 1m78? Or go with a large. Also where is the first spot in the video, I remember riding there when i was a kid a few years back, but i cant remember where it was? (Ben ook van Belgie en aangezien ik eksaarde zie hoop ik dat het niet te ver is, vond het daar namelijk vroeger altijd fantastisch)
I think you'd be better off with the Large (unless you have long legs and short upper body.) This was filmed in Bois des reves, Ottignies. Also in Erembodegem and Eksaarde. If you see me at the pumptrack in Eksaarde, just come and try out if the L fits you.
@@UnicornBikes the bike fitting function on their website works great and it says size M. I´m 181m with 88cm leg length. Canyon in Koblenz told me to chose the M frame!
I got the same bike i love it 🔥🔥
What colour is yours?
@@UnicornBikes same color as your bike but size L
What chain protection is that?
also wondering
Did you change anything to fit that casettte?
I only swapped the entire drivetrain from 10s to 12s :D
@@UnicornBikes yea, I didn't think you could just throw a 12s cassette there. I'm looking at this bike and thinking if there is a way to add more cogs without having to change everything else on the drive train. Or just have a 50+ cog to make riding up easier.
I'm 1,85m. Do you think that the XL version will work for me? I could get the Stoic 3 in XL for 900€.
hard to say, I'm 1m83 and the L fits me perfectly. Can you try it before you buy it?
@@UnicornBikes No, unfortunately not. I don't know if I should risk it. I think it is wiser to chose the Stoic 2. I heard in other videos that the rock shox fork und the brakes in the Stoic 3 are noch worth the extra money.
@@stefanx666If those parts are worth it will depend a lot on how you ride, impossible for me to say. I'd recommend getting the bike that fits you first, and upgrading it as needed
I've let reason prevail and bought the stoic 2. Whe I want tonupgrade, I think I can upgrade a sram sx egale with a 11-50 cassette. Am I right? Do you also have to change the crank and the chainring? Thanks in advance!
you'll have to go with a 12s chainring to run a 12s cassette and chain. I'd stick with the deore over sx tho
What's the wheel size on an stoic 3 small frame?
27.5
