  • After waiting a number of years I finally came across a bike to ride that had some OEM Hayes Dominion brakes. Even with the smaller 180mm rear rotor these brakes were fiercly powerful, but more impressive was the insane level of control.

    Literally the only review out there that’s not just some fluff piece on these brakes. Thank you man

    Best review of these brakes. Underrated.

    I've been running the Dominions for a season coming off of Code RSC's and they totally live up the hype. It almost seems like Hayes does no real marketing but a lot of pros run them. I saw a lot of Dominions on Rampage bikes this year.
    FYI Magura adapters work really well for shifter/dropper integration. The Hayes lever adapter not so much.

      Just purchased the Dominions which will replace my Code rsc (which I really like, but just want to test the Hayes brakes). How it is with calipers adapters. Will the sram adapters work with Hayes? My bike is PM 180mm rotors ready. Will my 180 -> 200 mm sram adapters which I am currently using for Sram 200 mm centerline work with Hayes 203 mm rotors?

      @@seatpostman you’ll need to use Hayes, Magura, or north shore billet adapters to get clearance on the caliper.

    Have them on both my bikes. Huge power with little effort. MTX pads work well for mad power!

    Went with Dominion T4 on the Trail 429. I didn’t love them as they came, so replacing the D-Series rotors with HS2s from Sram which I love after replacing my Centerline with HS2s. Also switching them to MTX red.
    My main bike is Code RSC with Maxima dot 4 race fluid for better lever feel, Cascade north fork calipers , MTX red pads and HS2 rotors and they are for sure better than Dominion so far.
    Hoping the new rotors and pads bring the Dominions around.
    I hate brake squeal.

    Wondering what you think of the TRP DHR Evos versus these Hayes Dominions? Two of the most talked about brakes these days and both fan sides chugging critiques at each other 😂
    Would be interesting seeing your opinion coming from a Shimano user 🤔

      I’ll have to get ahold of a set. You’ve had a good experience with them?

      I have MT5's on my Privateer and MT4's on my custom Marino hardtail. Only complaint... Learning curve to bleeding them.

    What’s your take on DHR Evo’s vs Dominions?

    • @SpencerAstraPOV
      @SpencerAstraPOV  Před měsícem

      I had one review with the Evo's and I didn't love the power, but I'd have to follow up to have a real opinion on them. I hear good things, people seem to love them. I remember the bite point feeling crisp.
