What about the "i"? Is it long like in keen it short like in kin? I know Americans use the long i.
The 'i' in '-ing' words is pronounced /ɪ/.

Texans g drop
Very interesting, thanks!
Falling, Fallin', and Fallen are all completely different in American English. I've never heard someone replace any of these outside of their context.
So your saying "it's more common in lower socioeconomical classes" also holds for british accents? Isn't it a standart in modern British RP?
Yes, it applies to British accents as well. G-dropping is not standard in Received Pronunciation.
@@LeanEnglishPronunciationThanks for the response but I'm getting confused here, as far as i understood, all of the resources explaining on the internet seems to state that the words ending with "ng" are pronounced "ŋ" in Received Pronunciation. The examples from the Cambridge Dictionary also states the pronunciation that way for example in words "sing", "song", "thing". So allow me to understand how come it is not a standart in RP?
@@macont2145 Correct, /ŋ/ is the standard pronunciation in most English accents, including RP. But this video is about G-dropping, when it is pronounced /n/ instead.
@@LeanEnglishPronunciation That, now I figured, many thanks!
