    The "t" sound along with other plosives can be tricky sometimes. Another exception that I can think of is when "t" is preceded by "s". In this case "t" loses its aspiration, in words such as "station" or "stop". Excellent video, Ed! Thanks so much for sharing!

    The "t" sound is aspirated when followed by a vowel in a stressed position, but this is not the case when preceded by an alveolar "s". For example: in "top" one can hear aspiration but not in "stop". The same with plosives like "p" (port, sport) or velar "k" (car, scar).
