    Chariklaki was composed by Panagiotis Toundas from Smyrni, Asia Minor and the scene takes place in Piraeus. Charikleia is an ancient Greek name. The other song, Chamopoulia (the lowly birds) is a song released by D. Bassis in 1997. Greek composed. Don't forget that the Greeks were in Asia Minor before the Romans and before the Turks. The Eastern Mediterranean was always a cauldron where cultures met and fertile exchange was all around. Well governments will not let people be...

    Chariklaki (Χαρικλάκι) is a Greek female name, little Charikleia. And these are songs from our common tradition, both sang with Turkish and Greek lyrics. They are usually originated from the area of Smyrne/İzmir where we both lived and coexisted for centuries. We have a lot in common Greeks and Turks. I have met Dilek Koç and she is an amazing person. As we say in Greek, είναι Ψυχούλα (it means she has a great heart). Paylaşım için çok teşekkür ederim.

    Where do you think Arab/Kurdish/Turkish music got their scales and microtones from? Ancient and Byzantine Greek music! Greek and Turkish artists have been coming together for years to rekindle the beautiful music from the last years of the Ottoman empire, when places like Izmir, Istanbul, Trapezounda, Iconia, Attalia, Adana and Adrianopolis still had huge native Greek Anatolian populations and too many Greek musicians and composers writing songs in both languages. Look up Roza Eskinazi, Marika Papagika, Andonis Dalgas, Marika Ninou, Stelios Kazantzidis, Amalia Baka, so many! And more recent artists are keeping the music alive, like the groups Takim and Loxandra, plus artists like Fidel Koksal, Ria Ellinidou, Areti Ketime, Candan Ercetin, Mariana Papamakariou and Manolis Koutsangelidis. There's a very popular TV show in Greece called "Stin Iygeia Mas" (To Our Health) that features artists like these. Enjoy!

    Although the amanes first seem to have a Turkish/Ottoman-style musical character, most authoritative orientalists and music critics argue that, although it was later adopted by the Turks as well as other peoples of the East, it is said to have come from Byzantine music, specifically the sound called "heavy" and belongs in the harmonious genus .
    Many modern music researchers consider the Greek type of amane to be related to the rebellious, the fatalistic, where pain, grievance and sorrow dominate.

    • @stgr0186
      @stgr0186 Před rokem +5

      Well the style of amanes definitely was presented since the Byzantine times (maybe not exactly the same but almost identical) if you consider that is used in the Byzantine music in greek orthodox churches.

      Hahahahahahahaha, the regions of Greece were never Turkish, they became Turkish with the war they waged on us. As for the time when we lived together, the Turks entered Greece to conquer it. So our areas were never Ottoman. Turkey was Greece, not Greece Turkey. As for Eastern music, it was inspired by Byzantine music from the 4th century AD, shortly after the transfer of the capital of the Roman Empire to Constantinople by Constantine the Great. They never had anything of their own, they didn't have their own history, their own music, their own food... everything was stolen by the Greeks, the Arabs, the Armenians, the Iranians, the Syrians and other countries.😊
