    Without priming fuel line, fuel pump was working dry which slightly damage it, because it would not have lubrication from fuel.
    And this also produce fine metal dust to the fuel line

    • @IAMASPANNER
      @IAMASPANNER  Před rokem

      For a pump to be running dry it would have to be brand new and even then they’re usually primed or treated. If it were completely dry it would never pull the fuel through as it wouldn’t create a seal.

    Since the vehicle has a plastic Oil Drain Plug, Its better you change the whole plug with a new one. Changing the Oring is not safe enough. The biggest mistake that is made by Vehicles with Cartridge Type Oil Filter Housings : You should always remove to Oil Filter First which drains old oil inside filter housing into oil sump , Because if you remove the drain plug first then do the filter : " Old Engine oil flows out of the oil filter housing and back into the oil sump."

    • @IAMASPANNER
      @IAMASPANNER  Před 2 lety +4

      I’ve never encountered any issues with plastic sump plugs, many newer Mercedes also have them. Regarding the oil filter removal, you’re correct, it is a habit I didn’t used to do, however, on most cars we’re talking 100ml in the filter housing when in actual fact there’s over half a litre stuck inside the engine every time you change the oil so it’s likely the difference would be negligible.

      @@andrewstopper7119 - 1.5 and the 1.6 have many particularities in common. Several differences also.
      The 1.6, has both the round and the rectangular air filter. It really depends on the implementation.
      As an example: My Volvo 50 1.6 2009 has the exact same oil and air filter. As my Ford Connect 1.5 from 2017.
      And I really mean the exact same parts reference ;-)
