I have the same issue on my car, clocks were sent off, repaired and refitted. Started and then the next day same again 🤦🏼‍♂️ I have a 2007 gt tdi 170hp. I’m gonna change the gateway module next week, hopefully that sorts it! Will update here soon. Do you know if you need a specific serial number from the gateway module? Before I order one on eBay haha

-What about loosening those four cam sprocket bolts while the cam belt is still in place? You would of course do this as a first step before doing the crank seal/oil pump seals.

i know you said you prefer to use the tools to unclip the top part but the whole reason that there are holes on top is so it can be easier to remove. you just stick fat head inside and it unclips. you just made it look a lot more difficult by going underneath when that was absolutely not necessary, that's why you had to use the tool the 2nd time for the top 🤦‍♂, why make life more difficult then it needs to be, when there is a more easier way to do it. i guess you're 1 of those types of people who like to do things the hard way and make life difficult for yourself lol 🤷‍♂

That was a frustrating watch. I’ve never seen such a lack of talent in a driver. He bogged you down on the slope and you were back on his tail in a few corners. Fair play for not blending off the brakes behind him.

Changed my slave and couldn’t get any pressure in the clutch. Noticed a leak under the car from around the master area. Looking at changing the master and hoping it’s that. I’ve also seen a video where the seal/grommet on the hose between the reservoir and the master has split (part number 1K2721453E) so will be checking that when replacing the master too.

I'm going to change ballast so I would've had to pull out one headlight unit anyhow, which is why I thought I'd just get this done with in the same go. Still waiting for bulbs though. I've bought a hole saw kit to attach to a drill, and I thought about just doing a little bit at a time and avoid going all the way through because I don't want lots of debree going into the unit. I only want to weaken the plastic as much as possible around the edge. Then I thought of sticking an angled pair of needle nose pliers and try to pull it out. Hopefully the precut circle will aid in a clean and hasslefree snap of that plastic that needs to be removed. I've also bought some sharp curved blades made for carving that may be of use as well together with hooked blades made for Stanley knives. I just don't feel like going to town with a soldering iron like that because I felt it looked a bit too messy, as well as almost frying the wires inside.

Im having trouble changing my DRL on the passenger side, when i go to turn it anti clockwise like you do to release the bulb, my wire doesn't seem to have enough slack so i cant get it to turn far enough to release the bulb housing. Could my wiring have been put in the wrong position? Not sure what to do next. Any help would be appreciated 👍🏻

Also… when you say “A tool”, as an American I can only hear it as coming from a British roadman 😂 Edit: As a mechanic I recommend replacing any spring clips you remove with a better hose clamp of your choice to avoid any b.s. in the future 🫡

The Genuine OEM ones actually aren’t super expensive. VW and Audi get a bad rap from normies about parts prices but they’re nothing like Mercedes, Range Rover or any of those other expensive cars. I love VW and Audi, and if you buy the right car, they’re really reliable. I mean obviously there’s a few engines/cars that had some problems (like most brands) but for the most part they aren’t bad.

I use a small funnel with a tube attached to a bottle for the removal of the oil filter it's a nightmare otherwise oil everywhere
