  • It's hard to beat a combo of smoked hot dogs + BBQ sauce. Serve up a plate of these smoked hot dog burnt ends and make friends for life.
    Seriously, as silly as this recipe it, it's freaking delicious. It's also one of the easiest BBQ side dishes you'll serve up. Kid friendly too.
    This recipe is easiest to make in a pellet grill, but can be prepared in any grill or smoker as long as you're able to adjust temps from 250°F - 350°F.

    I use Little Smokies, wrap in a half bacon slice, toothpick and pile in a crockpot with BbQ sauce. I cook on low three or four hours until til the bacon is well cooked and carmelized to the Smokies. They go quick at a party.

    For those of us who don't have a smoker yet, I recommend experimenting with smoked paprika. I found this to be an excellent flavor enhancer for chili. I haven't really tried it in other dishes yet.

      Melt some butter, add a spoon of molasses, liquid smoke, & mustard, put them in a bag to marinate. Then cook them up in the air fryer, lot quicker and the molasses/ smoke gives a great flavor.

    • @ChilesandSmoke
      @ChilesandSmoke  Před 16 dny +1

      That's part of it, the other is having small hotdog pieces all over the smoker. You could use a wire rack, but this method feels simpler. Don't worry they are still extremely smoky!

    Not a fan of the dogs burnt ends. I did it a couple years ago with Nathan's 6-1 all beef dogs and wished I had my dogs back. Not exactly sure why I didn't love it and I didn't actually hate it but I doubt I'd do it again.

      With that logic you could eat them out of the bag, cold. They are smoking slowly and caramelizing the sugars in the bbq sauce. Brisket is also cooked when you make burnt ends. Try it, they taste delicious.

    That's a lot of work for some hot dogs... I'll pass, I'd rather just smoke a brisket or something...

      This isn’t meant to replace a brisket, it’s just a fun side dish. I typically throw them into the smoker while I’m making other things, such as smoked chicken or mac and cheese. Kids love em at parties which is always a win for our get togethers.
