I also did the drain and fill on my 2.0t 10AT and I found it to be extremely easy. If you can do it yourself and save money. It will also help immensely if you can get access to a lift.
I was just about to make a video on this but yours is perfect. Nice job brother.
Thanks brutha
Easy to follow 👌
You saved me so much money!!!!!
This is a GREAT video! I just did this for my 2021 Accord 2.o T Touring. Would I use the same method for my wife's 2021 Acura Aspec? Same engine and transmission.
Yes if u think its the same. I don't know whether it takes 2.0 transmission fluid or etc. 👌👍
i don’t see a lot of people do this, but if you aren’t comfortable on the floor and don’t like making a mess after pumping you can remove the top airbox and there’s a sensor you remove that acts as a top fill plug for this 10 speed.
Oh interesting, nicee.
Thanks! This is very helpful. I forgot to change the oil at 80k km, is it fine if I change it at 100k km? Do I need to do anything different?
Thats good 👌, but you'll have to do the next transmission service prematurely. That's what i would do. Maybe 40k 🤔
Thihs is good info but I have 2019 ACCORD 2.0L SPORT TURBO MANUAL, is the configuration the same? would you follow the steps you show in your video. Very disappointed as I cannot find a tech service manual or any utube videos for a manual ......ideas?
Manual is different. Fill plug is in driver side, just above the axle shaft. And the drain is underneath the transmission. When you fill it from the fill plug, overfill it and wait til it just drips then install the filler plug back. Same as any other honda manual cars. Location wise is almost similar too. Cheerz. GL
Anyone know the sizes/part numbers for the washers that need replaced??? I'd like to try this myself.
Call dealership to find out.
You know there’s a bleed method that Honda says to perform after transmission fluid change, I’m an Independent Repair Shop and I hook up the Autel and perform this after. None of the videos show any DIY’ers performing this
Bleed only applies to the ones with auto idle stop. In this case it doesn't apply to this vehicle.
Where do you live? I live in Montreal Canada and I am noob to get this done myself or have the space to do so. I am wondering whom trust to do this service as I dont trust the leader. They want $450 to do the transmission service on a 10speed 2.0 Accord.
I'm in BC.
Sir what brand rims tires size ? Watching from Louisville ky
You're talking the car on my thumbnail picture right? Sorry, thats not my car. Thanks for watching doe.
you may also look into replacing the filter, it sits behind the transmission cooler/warmer
when I replaced mine at 30k miles the filter was black
Actually that's a really good idea too 👌🔥
do u mind sharing a picture where the filter sits?
@toonedhonda
No one shows the filter! What do you have to remove to remove the cooler housing?
@@BabyGators you’ve got to pull the airbox out and there a little bracket that will be in your way held on by 10mm’s
once you get the airbox and bracket out of the way it should be somewhat easy to access the 3 bolts on the cooler, once it’s unbolted you can move it around a decent amount to get the filters in and out
I’ve tried to leave links in the comments but they always get taken down
if you google “accord 2.0t transmission for sale” you will see alot of photos to reference where the trans cooler is if you’re not sure
What spray fluid was used to clean up?
Its a brake cleaner.
Should change filter and three O rings?
Change washers only. This is the first service.
How often are you supposed to replace or check the transmission fluid? 19 accord 2.0t with 67k miles
It depends on ur driving habit. The maintenace light #3 will come on by itself range from (50-100k). For me i would do the the service at every 60k in km.
@@Cargorage I’ll do it at the next oil change then just to be safe
How did you get your fluid extractor to pump the transmission fluid back in.
Its a pump and the tip going into the fill hole is kinda like bent towards where the hole is (modified).
@@Cargorage I have a Honda with the same trans and I just ordered a pump like the one in your video. Thanks for the info.
👌 yahh no worries
Do u have to change the CVT filter as well???
Not necessarily, but on the second service i would maybe or do a triple flush.
This isn’t a cvt, but yes, should replace filter
Where did you get the new washers?
I got it from honda.
do u have the both washer part number?
Sorry i dont know the part number
Is there any change in the performance of the transmission after this oil change ?
No sir, no big change.
@@Cargorage thank you for the feedback bro
How many miles did he have when he got it flushed?
80k km
do you feel any jerkiness with your 2.0t? I feel a little bit of jerkiness when braking and sometimes in the beginning of accelerating and also the car shakes a bit after turning off the engine. I heard some people say this car has that bc of all the gears it goes through but others have said it’s supposed to be smooth
I wish i could tell you my friend but its not my own car, i just did service on it. Yeah, It supposed to be smooth ride in all gears.
@@Cargorage okay thank you!
Hi. My 2021 accord touring transmission is jerky also. Can't find the reason why. Also makes clunky sound when shifting from park to drive and into neutral. Have you found info on this?
@@ismaeljorge6269 Hi, for the jerky feeling, I just accepted it. There was this reddit post I saw with these comments about the jerky feeling: (CZcams keeps deleting my comment since there's a screenshot link I tried adding so I'm just copy pasting a comment I read from reddit) "i see so many people talking about this and i'm thinking to myself, these have to be folks who have never had a manual transmission or a quick car with sports mode. the unit is always going to be in its best gear, higher rpms for you to take off should you need to hit the gas. and if you're coasting up to a red light, you're going to feel the downshifts a lot more just like any manual transmission"
As for the clunky sound when switching gears, it might be a wheel bearing? I saw some CZcams videos showing what could be causing clunky sounds but I currently am not experiencing that with my accord so Im not sure how to fix it. Definitely check out some youtube vids about the clunky sound.
Thanks for this input sir!
How much does that cost to get done at a Honda dealership????
Im not sure but its not cheap for suree.
They quoted me around 350 dollars for a flush in salem Nh pretty pricey just to do that 🤣
Sitting in the dealership now while it's being done. Quote for me was $228.79
Why don’t you change the filters??
Because thats not what the title of this video. Thats different.
Is there not a dipstick to check the fluid level ?
No, It does not have a dipstick.
there is a maintenance reminder that tells you when the ATF is due.
@@alpe6228 Yes, its on your dash it a "SUB 3".So on you dash, the maintenance light would come on and it would say "3". Or a combination on "01379". When you see that 3, that's the transmission fluid. It means its due.
@@Cargorage yup,fantastic car I must say.
Lol
What pump should I use for this service?
Anything commercially available but you might improvise the hose or same as the one i used.
What should the temp be to check the level
The temp doesn't matter i think, as long as you ran through all gears then check the level checker.
I actually found out in a Honda tech manual, that you run the car until the fan comes on twice with the new fluid already in, then go through the gears, turn the car off then check the level. I did this today, worked well, all good, thanks for the video and response.

ATF Replacement and Level Check 2896
NOTE:
Check the ATF level right after shifting the transmission through all of the positions/modes and turning the engine
OFF.
• There are two types of level plugs: integrated washer type and separated washer type.
1. Start the engine, and warm it up at idle speed to the normal operating temperature (the radiator fan comes on twice).
2. While pressing the brake pedal firmly, shift the transmission to P-+R+N+D +2nd +D +N +R +P position/mode, and wait at least 3 seconds in each position/mode.
NOTE: To shift to 2nd gear, enter the sequential sport shift mode by pressing the paddle shifter while in the sport mode.
3. Tum the engine off.
4. Integrated washer type: Remove the level plug (A).
Separated washer type: Remove the level plug (A) with the sealing washer (B).
5. Make sure the ATF level is at the proper level (C).
Proper Transmission Fluid (ATF) Level:
The ATF is dripping from the level plug hole with the engine warmed up.
NOTE: If the ATF level is below the proper level, check for fluid leaks at the transmission and the fluid lines. If a problem is found, fix it before filling the transmission with
6. If necessary, remove the filler plug (D) with the sealing washer (E), and add the recommended fluid through the filler plug hole (F) untl the ATF overflows from the level plug hole. Always use Honda ATF TYPE 2.
NOTE: Using the wrong type of fluid will damage the transmission.
Thanks for the feedback. ❤
How many quarts?
It's mention somewhere in the middle to end of the video. Pls watch it brutha. I forgot.
Is there a transmission filter?
Apparently, someone commented in here and suggested that there is a transmission filter behind the warmer/cooler and he changed it. I have yet to change the filter.
