- What is better than a Fall canoe trip in the Massasauga Provincial Park? A Fall canoe trip with Epic Mom Sue! Sue and I have been trying to plan a trip for quite some time, and we were finally able to make it happen. We wanted to do something simple, but fun, so we booked a site on Conger Lake, where I actually survived my very first solo backcountry camping trip, ever!. We got to see some gorgeous fall colours, eat some amazing food and share a lot of laughs on our adventure. I hope you enjoy this trip as much as we did.

Fall canoeing is just awesome! No mosquitoes and other bugs, no screaming kids, very few other campers, amazing fall colours, reasonable temperatures...
I camped in the Massasauga in October, 2016 on Blackstone Harbour. The last few days we did not see any other campers around, we were the only ones. When we finally packed up on October 5, 2016 and paddled to the parking lot, I was quite surprised to see just ONE car in the whole parking lot-mine!

Hahah omg those Oreos. I think she said she got them at bulk barn and they were crazy expensive, but so totally worth it. Highly recommended as some kind of a fancy winter camping New Year’s dessert. So many more trips to come !!! Lol. My Killarney trip I just did isn’t up til mid December. Lol. It was a beauty season. Thanks for watching. 😘

Change the name of the canoe lift.... LOL .. I've been doing it that way since 1987. :) It was a chilly for sure on your trip. I was out the following week and had 1C temps. Always still enjoyable when there is such great scenery around! Love seeing your trips.

Looks like a wonderful trip with some great company, it was very enjoyable to watch. I’m camping myself right now, and it has been between 75F-30F, (24C to -1C), but clear weather, and light winds. Looking forward to your next adventure, be well my friend.

Another great camping trip! Near as I can tell UV will not affect parasite eggs or spores like tapeworm, giardia or cryptosporidia. A filter would be a better option, especially on an inland lake.

The UV-C LED technology inside LARQ has been tested by independent third-party labs and is effective against various germs, including E.coli, Salmonella, Staph, and MSRA. It will not impact heavy metals, chemicals, fluoride or minerals and does not have a filter so the water should be clear to the eye before filling the LARQ Bottle. While we haven't directly tested on Giardia as an organism, UV-C is well documented to be effective against Giardia and other protozoa types of organisms. Lol. I can to, sometimes, but I am also making CZcams videos that I am trying to inspire food ideas to people with, and get them excited about backcountry meals. I also have colitis and need to balance the type of foods I eat, so i don’t get sick. And i also get migraines from certain processed foods, or, if I eat too many of them and also have to eat well for. I also go out camping every weekend or every other weekend, so I need more variety so I don’t get bored. We are all different. Do what you do, if it works for you. The important thing is you get out and enjoy being out. 😊😊😊
Lovely! Have you ever tried down pants? I have a pair and they are so light but so comfy! Perfect for those temps and no rain. Your photos are amazing, those tree colors, the sky, the mirror water. The wildlife was great too.
