Mine had a bit of coil whine too ad did my 6800xt and RTX 3080Ti but those got better over time. This cards pretty quiet even with a 2.98ghz oc so it stands out a bit more.
For those interested, I did all of my benchmarks on my Intel i9 12900 with the same 32GB of DDR5 system. PS! Cyberpunk 2077 is BUGGY, a shocker right, I am not going to be running this benchmark ever again until CDPR adresses it. My results seem to be 100% correct but with the bugs that turned out in Benchmark mode nobody really knows what settings they are ACTUALLY running. Here are some of the results: 3DMARK Port Royal: 25,217p 3DMARK Timespy Extreme: 16,291p CYBERPUNK DLSS OFF RTX OFF: 43.3FPS CYBERPUNK RTX ON DLSS OFF: 38.9FPS GTA V test: 133FPS In short the new Raytracing cores are ABSOLUTLEY amazing, no more 50% performance loss when enabling RTX!

I got the Tuf OC model the morning they launched and this cards really impressed me. My 5900X does become bottleneck even at 4K in some cases but am going to wait until Raptor Lake and 3D Zen 4 chips launch. This things so efficient too. It pulls a little bit more power than my Strix 3080Ti and provides double the performance. Its nuts.

There's something funky with your 4090 bud. Your frame rates are significantly lower than other channels. A lot of them were reporting 70-80FPS in 2077 at native 4K no DLSS or Raytracing. Should look in to it. I hope Asus didn't send you a bad card.
What could it be? This is so strange to see because I have seen others do the same, they have a biiiiiiiig performance leap even the founders edition videos. And the founders is just as good as the TUF gaming one.
Yeah I think I noticed it too, I will wait for official nVidia drivers for update. OR maybe everyone else were using some "low" dlss or "low" rtx settings
@@TheTanelChannel I just read on a few sites that the 4090 isn't playing nice with Ryzen 7000 ATM. Awaiting a fix from nvidia for it. Might require a bios update as well.
Because they used wrong settings and enabled a DLSS like option lol. Tested it with new todays nVidia drivers aswell, all well. 3DMark Timespy Extreme 14300p and 3DMark Port Royal RTX 21600p

edit new: So its actually not just the FidelityFX, it seems CYBERPUNK 2077 is buggy. I think what ACTUALLY happens is that people set FidelityFX to OFF but while its visually OFF its actually still left in AUTO mode which produces the crazy high FPS gains. I tested on my i9 7900X and got almost identical results of the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X, a bit lower scores but my OS is years old and full of garbo. @@TheTanelChannel FidelityFX Super Resolution is for AMD cards.... I think your real problem is that you only tested with DLSS 2.0. Then the card is a bit faster than the old generation (more transistors, faster clock, etc.) but the new killer feature is DLSS 3.0 Frame Generation, which generates additional frames and thus pushes the performance up a notch. As far as I know, this setting is (was?) only included in special pre-release versions, which the other testers got from CD Project Red. I got this from a comment under another video an hour ago: "DLSS 3.0 does not seem to be available yet in Cyberpunk 2077, or the "frame generation" feature"

Thanks for the review. Would you mind providing more information about the temperatures? The data shown on GPU-Z is very odd. Clock speeds are all over the place (was it idling or under load?) and the hot spot (which is always at least 10C hotter than the core) is almost 20C lower, in your video. Not sure what's going on, but something's definitely up. Also, what about memory temps, memory junction (TJ Max), etc.?
Nothing is up. Cyberpunk was ran faulty by many reviewers, even gamer nexuses results are faulty. Ive ran the card in many pc setups and results are always in line! GPUz ran on the background all the time like I always have it, temps are really good here and tbh I was shocked to see so low temps aswell but they are true temps
@@TheTanelChannel Yes, I've seen GN's video, but that still doesn't explain the anomalies in the GPU-Z data you presented. As I mentioned, the hot spot can never have a lower temperature than the actual core. And the clocks were ranging from 2400MHz all the way down to 300MHz. My suggestion is to use Afterburner for measurements, and start recording the data after warming up the GPU for about 10-15 minutes. Then, play a very intensive game (like Cyberpunk) for 30 minutes, and show what the detailed graphs look like. I'm sure the results will be more accurate, then. :)
@@EeK9X I agree something is up. The clocks are all over and we can't see the gpu usage. The card isn't getting fresh air with the rad at the front either. Yes his card runs at 67c but that can be a design for the tuf to lower clocks to keep a good temp. My 3090ti is getting more than his 4090 at same exact testing right now and YES I have fidelityFX off. Sorry, but your not a more accurate tester than Digital Foundry and they prove your benches wrong as well

BUT.. how do you explain it being perfectly fine for everything else? Like the 3DMark scores that I added in the comments and description. 3DMark should instantly show if a card is downclocking. And no way is there some clock lowering going on at 65c lol, again, other games should have struggled aswell then but they didnt, specially 3DMark.
Did you get a defective card? I have watched like 10 reviews now and everyone got much better results than you did. Only other possibility is much different settings. EDIT after reading more other people pointed it out, and you said other reviews set FidelityFX to auto... but even if thats the case, the 4090 was crushing the 3090, so even if you got lower FPS< why are the 4090 and 3090 so close in your tests? If your tests are correct, then the answer is to buy a $1000 3090 TI, clearly.
Im gonna bet that the 3090 tests were ran back when 3090 came out and eighter the game didnt have that option or it was OFF by default back then. I did extensive testing back and fourth on my i9 7900X and the Ryzen 7 7700X and with todays new drivers, nothing really changed! 3DMark Timespy Extreme 14300p and 3DMark Port Royal RTX 21600p tell me that all my tests were spot on.

@@Cruor34 if the card was bad I wouldnt have gotten decent results in 3DMarks, also it was better then a 3090 after all, not by a huge margin in such games and I guess thats why people are angry :D Thats also WHY i dont like to run 3D Marks.. its bullshit scores, yeah its 50% faster in some places then my 3090... but when I boot up a proper game.. the story is a whole lot different, at 4k ofcourse.

@@TheTanelChannel Weird, almost every picture I see of these cards in a case is with the glass off. Its like there's a coordinated effort to hide the fact that the cards will only fit in 2 or 3 cases currently on the market.

I know what you mean with the upscaling but it's not 800x600 lol I play everything at 4k quality dlss so internal 1440p and it looks as good as native in many cases and some better as it's also a form of antialiasing, native resolutions are dead lol But anyway, the results in native raster performance just cannot be what you shown somthing is up with the testing methodology

Well sadly its not :D I see that other reviewers have made a mistake in benchmarking Cyberpunk 2077 with Super Fidelity FX resolution turned on. When I set that to "AUTO" which it is by default, my FPS went from 40 to 108.

Sorry, but I think that the mistake is just in your test) Even when comparing the characteristics of gpu`s 4090 and 3090, it is clearly seen that 4090 cannot be only 11.5 % faster in Cyberpunk with rt and dlss (87 fps vs 78 fps) . It's just not possible.
Edit: They are different because other reviewers made a mistake by leaving on "FidelityFX Super Resolution" on "AUTO", that will boost the FPS from 40 to 100+. Its clearly not 4K then though, more like 800x600.
I did LN2, Dryice overclocking so much back in the days that I gave up on overclocking lol, its pointless, it wont give you any real benefit, only the downsides.

@@tommystebbs Because nobody wants to play at 1080p. Why wouldn't you go with a 3440 by 1440p at least? There are some reviews that did some 1080 btw and it isn't any better than the 3090 really because they were CPU bottlenecked at that low resolution. The card was made for people who want to play at 4k or 3440x1440 with max settings and ray tracing, not to get 800 FPS in Counter Strike. I think they had like 400 FPS in Overwatch at 4k, so I don't know what you would be playing that needs such high fps/hz you need to play in 1080p
Man, I donno, I guess it can give a few extra frames at 1080p but its so much CPU bound there it might not be worth it, check out some reviews where they did 1080p tests and then you can decide.
Something is wrong with your tests. I just ran my 3090ti cyberpunk ultra, 4k, no dlss, no fidelityfx, no rtx and get an avg 50fps min 31 max 67. I know your temps are good om that card but what's its gpu usage. I worry about it throttling itself, yes even at 67c. Check the gpu usage. Something isn't right. I'll report on my 4090 bench when it arrives later this afternoon. I'm using a 5000d case with ddr4 3600 and 12900k.

I heard Gamer Nexus stating that Cyberpunk itself has some bugs where you need to manually set everything to high and not use the profiler.. but Ive done that, tried everything, still get same results :D wtf-s going on. Can you test GTA V? Also GTA V advanced graphics and set all to max there too. No AA and Softest Shadows (not amd or nvidia shadows)
@@TheTanelChannel again check your gpu usage. There's nothing going besides cpu limited. We'll have to wait for dlss 3.0. My gpu usage on the 4090 is 60% at most. The 3090ti is 99%. It's waiting for the cpu. My cpu has 77% usage but checking my two main cores theyre 99%. Other games hit better depending on the gpu I just tried shadow of the Tomb Raider on my 2.5k ultrawide for example Ultra no RTX 3090ti 146avg 109min 237max 99% gpu usage 4090 278avg 226min 420max gpu usage 60%

I dont know, the side panel was steadily placed on concrete and it decided to self destruct. But I can confirm there is loads of room for the cables even if you try and close it off with a glass, well.. not loads but definetly room!

I wanted to get the Strix because I've been impressed with my Strix LC OC 6800 XT and Strix OC 3080Ti but Micro Center didn't have any so got the TUF OC and it's great. I haven't messed around too much with tweaking but it overclocks to 2.97ghz np with memory at 11000mhz. Another thing I love about Asus cards is two HDMi ports
No idea, as I said in my video, take a measuring device and start measuring :P the cards dimensions are on ASUS-s website but it really is one of the biggest cards Ive ever seen..

What seemed to have happenned is I guess many people have not played around in Cyberpunk so when they went in the settings, put everything to max detail and fiddled with DLSS and RTX they seem to have forgotten that Cyberpunk 2077 has SuperFideltiyFX resolution on AUTO by default, its like DLSS but a bit worse. When I enabled that my FPS went from 40 to 108.. but it was like 4K resolution that ran 800x600 lol, super blurry garbo.

This guy needs to learn the tech and how to benchmark because he doesn't show his gpu usage or understand he's getting a cpu bottleneck even at 4k because Ultra dlss because it's lowering the resolution quite a bit which is cpu bound. Hey can you stop? Ive been benching cards and cpus with LN2/Dryice/VAPO since 2005. You are just basing the results off of Cyberpunk and even Steve from GN stated that its benchmarking settings are broken thats why a lot of people get different results as some settings are not disabled or enabled when you see them disabled\enabled. I added benchmarks of 12900 aswell as 7900X with 3dmarks in the description, they are all in line at what they are suppose to be.

Maybe you have some Bugs/CPU-Bottleneck/AMD-Bug/Mainboard-Issue/OS-issue - 4090 should be much more cyberpunk fps, watch other videos

Then again if you look at the Raytraced no DLSS result, its spot on for 3090 and around the same as everyone else.

maybe you could post your port royal or timespy 3d benchmark then we can determine if its your setup or its really how it is supposed to behave

ive had my 3090 asus tuf for nearly a year and still very happy with it for at least another 2-3 years.

@@EeK9X I agree something is up. The clocks are all over and we can't see the gpu usage. The card isn't getting fresh air with the rad at the front either. Yes his card runs at 67c but that can be a design for the tuf to lower clocks to keep a good temp. My 3090ti is getting more than his 4090 at same exact testing right now and YES I have fidelityFX off. Sorry, but your not a more accurate tester than Digital Foundry and they prove your benches wrong as well
@@mileskt9232 the only thing I can imagine is Cyberpunk being buggy as hell then (add mild "shock"). I wanna say that wait im gonna get the ROG 4090 in soon to compare, maybe my card IS faulty... BUT.. how do you explain it being perfectly fine for everything else? Like the 3DMark scores that I added in the comments and description. 3DMark should instantly show if a card is downclocking. And no way is there some clock lowering going on at 65c lol, again, other games should have struggled aswell then but they didnt, specially 3DMark.

Did you get a defective card? I have watched like 10 reviews now and everyone got much better results than you did. Only other possibility is much different settings. EDIT after reading more other people pointed it out, and you said other reviews set FidelityFX to auto... but even if thats the case, the 4090 was crushing the 3090, so even if you got lower FPS< why are the 4090 and 3090 so close in your tests? If your tests are correct, then the answer is to buy a $1000 3090 TI, clearly.
Im gonna bet that the 3090 tests were ran back when 3090 came out and eighter the game didnt have that option or it was OFF by default back then. I did extensive testing back and fourth on my i9 7900X and the Ryzen 7 7700X and with todays new drivers, nothing really changed! 3DMark Timespy Extreme 14300p and 3DMark Port Royal RTX 21600p tell me that all my tests were spot on.
@@TheTanelChannel Is is not possible that you got a card with bad silicon or is undervolted or something? I mean again, if your test is right, then Id be a fool not to buy a 3090 Ti for $1000 and skip the 4000 series.
@@Cruor34 if the card was bad I wouldnt have gotten decent results in 3DMarks, also it was better then a 3090 after all, not by a huge margin in such games and I guess thats why people are angry :D Thats also WHY i dont like to run 3D Marks.. its bullshit scores, yeah its 50% faster in some places then my 3090... but when I boot up a proper game.. the story is a whole lot different, at 4k ofcourse.

Sidepanel should close with zero issues, maybe I didnt have the best angle on video, there is loads of room for the glass panel!
@@TheTanelChannel Weird, almost every picture I see of these cards in a case is with the glass off. Its like there's a coordinated effort to hide the fact that the cards will only fit in 2 or 3 cases currently on the market.

You can see it by skipping to the Benchmarking Rig section. In short Ryzen 7 7700X, no bottleneck, just other reviewers made an oopsie doing the Cyberpunk benchmark by leaving in FidelityFX Super Resolution

I know what you mean with the upscaling but it's not 800x600 lol I play everything at 4k quality dlss so internal 1440p and it looks as good as native in many cases and some better as it's also a form of antialiasing, native resolutions are dead lol
But anyway, the results in native raster performance just cannot be what you shown somthing is up with the testing methodology

Well sadly its not :D I see that other reviewers have made a mistake in benchmarking Cyberpunk 2077 with Super Fidelity FX resolution turned on. When I set that to "AUTO" which it is by default, my FPS went from 40 to 108.

You Cyberpunk results are different to other reviewers results.
Edit: They are different because other reviewers made a mistake by leaving on "FidelityFX Super Resolution" on "AUTO", that will boost the FPS from 40 to 100+. Its clearly not 4K then though, more like 800x600.

@@tommystebbs Because nobody wants to play at 1080p. Why wouldn't you go with a 3440 by 1440p at least? There are some reviews that did some 1080 btw and it isn't any better than the 3090 really because they were CPU bottlenecked at that low resolution. The card was made for people who want to play at 4k or 3440x1440 with max settings and ray tracing, not to get 800 FPS in Counter Strike. I think they had like 400 FPS in Overwatch at 4k, so I don't know what you would be playing that needs such high fps/hz you need to play in 1080p
Man, I donno, I guess it can give a few extra frames at 1080p but its so much CPU bound there it might not be worth it, check out some reviews where they did 1080p tests and then you can decide.

I just ran my 3090ti cyberpunk ultra, 4k, no dlss, no fidelityfx, no rtx and get an avg 50fps min 31 max 67. I know your temps are good om that card but what's its gpu usage. I worry about it throttling itself, yes even at 67c. Check the gpu usage. Something isn't right. I'll report on my 4090 bench when it arrives later this afternoon. I'm using a 5000d case with ddr4 3600 and 12900k.

I heard Gamer Nexus stating that Cyberpunk itself has some bugs where you need to manually set everything to high and not use the profiler.. but Ive done that, tried everything, still get same results :D wtf-s going on. Can you test GTA V? Also GTA V advanced graphics and set all to max there too. No AA and Softest Shadows (not amd or nvidia shadows)
@@TheTanelChannel again check your gpu usage. There's nothing going besides cpu limited. We'll have to wait for dlss 3.0. My gpu usage on the 4090 is 60% at most. The 3090ti is 99%. It's waiting for the cpu. My cpu has 77% usage but checking my two main cores theyre 99%.

I dont know, the side panel was steadily placed on concrete and it decided to self destruct. But I can confirm there is loads of room for the cables even if you try and close it off with a glass, well.. not loads but definetly room!

I wanted to get the Strix because I've been impressed with my Strix LC OC 6800 XT and Strix OC 3080Ti but Micro Center didn't have any so got the TUF OC and it's great. I haven't messed around too much with tweaking but it overclocks to 2.97ghz np with memory at 11000mhz.

What seemed to have happenned is I guess many people have not played around in Cyberpunk so when they went in the settings, put everything to max detail and fiddled with DLSS and RTX they seem to have forgotten that Cyberpunk 2077 has SuperFideltiyFX resolution on AUTO by default, its like DLSS but a bit worse. When I enabled that my FPS went from 40 to 108.. but it was like 4K resolution that ran 800x600 lol, super blurry garbo.

Okay here everyone just got my 4090. This guy needs to learn the tech and how to benchmark because he doesn't show his gpu usage or understand he's getting a cpu bottleneck even at 4k because Ultra dlss because it's lowering the resolution quite a bit which is cpu bound.

Hey can you stop? Ive been benching cards and cpus with LN2/Dryice/VAPO since 2005. You are just basing the results off of Cyberpunk and even Steve from GN stated that its benchmarking settings are broken thats why a lot of people get different results as some settings are not disabled or enabled when you see them disabled\enabled. I added benchmarks of 12900 aswell as 7900X with 3dmarks in the description, they are all in line at what they are suppose to be.
