I just love hearing you all talk every week! Love the fact that you all have different opinions and you aren't afraid to say how you feel! All the different stuff you all talk about is very interesting to listen to! You really are looking out for the people coming down to Disney! Thanks for great shows!

David Koenig of the Mouse Tales books talks of how close knit the community of former Disneyland employees is and how their each other's dentist, hair stylist, doctor, etc. He even mentioned how one Anaheim dentist and former Disneyland cast member has his patients made almost entirely up of former Disneylanders and co workers

I worked at Disney-MGM full-time 1990-96, mainly as a guide on the Backstage Studio Tour. A perk for me was always the unexpected run-in with the occasional celebrity on the backlot around the soundstages. Met and had some memorable chats with Wesley Snipes, Bob Ross ("The Joy of Painting"), Wil Wheaton, Jason Hervey ("The Wonder Years") and Dick Clark. Would also see the Mouseketeers routinely (pre-superstar Britney, Christina, Justin), though I never spoke to them.

Right after I graduated college I knew I wanted to work for Disney. When I went back home I quickly searched any way I could to get my foot in the door. I managed to go to an Equity dance audition where I was asked to be a character. Since they measured me at 5 feet (mouse height) and I wanted full time I was hired on the spot! My parents were nervous with me only making around $7 an hour and trying to support myself (since they lived three hours away) but with a little help from them and LOTS of overtime we made it work. It was the most wonderful time of my life!! I eventually got trained in the shows and the parades. Magical doesn't do it justice! I eventually went part time 3 years later when I got a full time job elsewhere. I then moved from PT entertainment to be a PT server at Ohana's which was SO fun! I was there for 7 years until I moved to TN and I miss Disney terribly! My family and I are all Passholders now and go down there every chance we get! I feel blessed that I had the opportunity to be a guest, then a cast member, then a guest again. No matter where I go, whenever they see Disney on my resume, it is the first thing they ask about! It's like a giant gold star on your resume!

I participated in the college program at WDW in Fall 2012. I worked attractions in Magic Kingdom at Storybook Circus and then was asked to join the opening team for The Journey of the Little Mermaid and I can honestly say it was the most amazing experience. Working for the mouse was like no other and I am hoping to return this summer for a professional internship! Great podcast, I loved hearing about everyones experiences.

My brother started with the college program in 2009 and has worked there full time now since 2013. I think he likes most about working there is the park perks, like minded people so you can make a lot of really good friends, and people always get excited when he tells people (or when I do) that he works for Disney.

I'm so glad I revisited this video! After getting wait listed for the college program (I'm still in progress and find out next week.), I decided to apply for a seasonal position on a whim and got hired on the spot! It's a dream come true and it'll be a perfect way to spend my semester before college. My recruiter wanted me in PhotoPass, but the only thing that worked with my availability was QSFB. I never pictured myself in that role, but I'm excited for something new.

I was a ride operator at Busch Gardens and went thru several days of training, We were told that there was a 5 minute window for clocking in. After 2&1/2 years, we had a new supervisor, Pete, who told us we only had a ONE minute window. and I was fired for a job I absolutely loved.

The face cast members that I met, meaning Cinderella and what not. The ones you actually talk to who are "people" the way the act and talk.. I agree has changed tremendously in the past 10 years. The princesses especially don't speak like the traditional princesses should speak. It's more modern. They lost their magical feeling like you are actually talking to a princess. I was disappointed when I heard them say things like " oh my gosh" or " I like your shoes" I know it's probably petty of my be what happened to " how wonderful! " in an excited gesture or " those are simply beautiful!" Idk I feel like they don't really but much effort in their roles.

I want to get to Disneyworld one day soon and saving up. it makes me sad to think that guests can be rude to cast members when its the Cast members who make the magic of Disney happen. I look forward to making cast members day happier as well me enjoying the day there. Thanks for your vids. :) was wondering if I can maybe do a Cast member tribute video if Disney will allow that..... I really would like people to realize what you guys do to make guests magical and memorable. Im no way part of Disney at all but a Disney fan through and through. :D

I can't speak for the others, but Disney was my path to Orlando. My ultimate goal was to get my foot in the door and work towards doing something creative at Disney. After a year at Blizzard Beach, with a college degree, I had to start looking outside the company for something in my field, and to make more money. I definitely made the right decision.
