Today I’m reviewing the All-New 8th Generation Kindle E-Reader from Amazon. This is probably Amazon’s most popular e-reader and is also the least expensive E-reader in the Kindle Lineup. From a distance, the Kindle looks like almost any other tablet. But when you take a closer look, you see a matte, black and white 6” screen surrounded by a somewhat thick bezel. More about that in a minute. The body is made from a black matte plastic and is available in two colors: black and white. The bottom edge has the micro usb charge port and power button, with an LED indicator between them. The All-New Kindle E-reader devices are at their core, dedicated devices to read books on. They give you access to Amazon’s gigantic selection of books: whether you read fiction, non-fiction or even textbooks. Now you can always read books on any other tablet; But what makes the Kindle unique is it’s matte, black and white, E-ink screen which is really easy on the eyes and tries to replicate the experience of reading a physical book. Not only is the screen easy on the eyes, you can read it even in the bright sunlight, when you’re outdoors. Most tablets just don’t do a very good job of this and this is very important if you plan to read on the beach or on a park bench or even outdoors in your backyard. The All-new kindle e-reader is also very comfortable to hold in one hand and doesn’t feel heavy or tire your hand out. And just to give you a sense of how light it is, it’s almost half the weight of the Kindle Fire HD6 Tablet, which also has a 6” screen. The Kindle’s interface is really a customized version of Amazon’s book section. The home page has all your book downloads and a few suggestions of what books Amazon feels might interest you. From the Homepage, you can search for almost any book on the planet or browse amazon’s curated selection in almost any genre. And like a physical book, you can always page through several pages of the book by tapping the “Try Sample” option, before you pay for a book. The Kindle versions of most books are also a bit cheaper than their paperback siblings, which is an added advantage in the long run. Once your purchase or sample downloads onto your device, It’s immediately available under your library on the homepage. To start reading, tap on the book. The book opens up and occupies the whole screen. To page forward, tap anywhere on the right hand edge of the screen. To page back, tap anywhere on the left hand edge. What I really like about the Kindle and something that you won’t find on a physical book, are the interactive features. For example, touching and holding a word in a book, brings up the definition of the word, wikipedia information about the word and even a translation feature that allows you to translate to almost any language. You can also highlight a word or leave a note for future reference. Something that’s very helpful, especially for textbooks. Tapping on the of the screen also brings up options like going back to the homepage, changing your text size or even adding bookmarks. And even if you exit out of the book, when you open the book up next time, you’ll be brought right back to where you left it the last time. After using the reader several times over the past few days, I still have over 60% of charge left on the device. Really helpful when you’re on the go. Now I mentioned that it handles reading outdoors in the sun, very
So is the All-new 8th Generation Kindle worth the money? I definitely feels it’s worth every penny. It’s simple well-thought out device that’s great for folks who read a lot. It’s light and works great for reading outdoors and has a lot of very thoughtful interactive features that really add to the book reading experience. Great for someone who reads a lot outdoors and in well-lit rooms. However, if you want an e-reader to use in bed or with the lights turned off, I’d recommend upgrading to the Kindle PaperWhite, which comes with a built-in backlight. I’ll leave links to both these devices below. Hope this review was useful. If it was, please Hit that LIKE button and subscribe for more reviews. Thanks for watching and see you next time. - Věda a technologie
*I upgraded from the 8 inch to the **Newest.Technology** 10 inch. I really didn't expect it to make that much difference but it has. It is also much faster and responsive. Great Purchase.*
There are two versions. One with advertising on the Lock Screen and the other without. The version without advertising is more expensive. This is the latest version of the Kindle: amzn.to/3JT9etx
This is so helpful, I just purchased myself one half an hour ago and i can't wait for it to get dispatched!! Thanks for this!! x
Glad it helped. 😀
Getting my first Kindle on Friday, very excited. Thanks for the review.
+infinite3joy Enjoy your Kindle!
Thank you for an excellent amd well explained review! I took it into consideration when buying my mothers first e reader. She is now enjoying her All New 2016 Kindle E reader.

This video was very helpful and easy to follow! I love my Kindle e-reader even more now. Thanks!
Thanks!
Great review but I'm super salty there's no backlight. Just got it in the mail today and was like how tf do I adjust the brightness, this video cleared that up. Pretty frustrating for someone who wants to read in bed
While watching this I got the notification that “Your kindle has dispatched “ 🤗🤗🤗
Why should he? You can read PDFs on it.
Chris congrats
Have it. Love it.
It is NOT heavy and i can read for hours without my eyes get tired or have redness or puffy eyes at the next day (which was happening to me by reading on my cellphone or computer).
"great for folks who read a lot": ME.
Besides i can have all the books that i want. Im a teacher so i download all my books and then put it on my kindle and i can comfortable read and gave my class with it. Is a very useful tool as a english teacher.
Something that doesnt bother for me but probably for others is that those books download in pdf, before they go to the kindle, you have to make sure to convert it in Ebook. There are tons of online or download programs in internet which you can do that. Which is not a problem for me as long as i can have it on my kindle eventually. It worth it.
Love it love it love it and as a love reader, my eyes are thanking my too LOL
+princesskanu Thanks for the comment
princesskanu so basically you can convert PDF to kindle version ?? i've heard PDF format sucks on kindle.Have you tried converting a PDF to kindle format ??
greg austin Yes just covert the pdf file to a mobi file using any online converter and it works fine!
thanks babe
I have watched kindle reviews (can't decide between 8th gen and paper white) and this is the BEST review!!!!
Thanks!
Holy crap. I love holding physical book and never thought I would convert to artificial lights on my face before bedtime... but kindle can search up word's definition by holding onto it!?? damnit! Think i'm sold and will definitely consider now lol
e reader is different from phones tablets and computers
Thanks for the review. I was thinking to buy the one with builtin light but why would I need it if physical books doesn't have light either and it is not a problem.
+Adrian Martínez Well the problem is only if you read at night with the lights turned off.
I know but is the same problem with real books. So it's not a big deal, you can use it in the same way as a real book.
+ReviewLamp.com I am planning to buy kindle 2016. The thing is I read books at night with a dim light switched on in my room. With physical books, I can read with no issues in that light. Was wondering if it would be the same with kindle 2016 or should I opt for the paperwhite version. I prefer the basic version over paperwhite since it costs less as well as weighs less. And I don't care much about the higher resolution that kindle paperwhite offers.
+Adrian Martínez So how is your experience with kindle so far (hope you have bought it)? Are you able to use it like a normal book or do you see the lack of backlight as a limitation? I mean, have you faced any difficulty reading on kindle in low light conditions wherein you could read physical books without much of an issue?
It is great. I just used it as a comun book, reading with the lights on.
Thanks for the review. I bought a kindle e-reader.
Great review! I’d like tou buy a cover for this Kindle and I was wondering if the Kindle paperwhite cover fits this Kindle as well? Thank you for your answer.
Excellent review, looks excellent aside from the reading in the dark thing, so I'll be looking into the Paperwhite version instead. Thanks! :)
Glad it helped! Thanks for the comment! :)
Thank you for your review. I must say your reviews are fantastic, this review helped us in buying the kindle

Fantastic video. Answered all my questions.
Thanks, Brad!
Do you have problem with it not detecting your wifi? Mine most of the time can't detect my own wifi. Is it defective or is it just not compatible with our wifi?
Excellent review, very comprehensive. Thank you
You’re welcome, Brittany
Just today I know about kindle reading, really by watching videos and comments seems perfect selection, I was thinking to buy tab for reading but this seems more valuable. Does this kindle have same features as tab or its just for reading
Hey everyone, how long does your battery usually last? I got a kindle 8th gen 10 days ago and used already 2/3 of the battery... it has been on airplane mode most of the time, I have read 3.5 books and a few samples. Is that normal? Should the battery not last longer?
Can anyone tell me how the screen of this kindle compares to that of the kindle keyboard? I just updated my broken kindle keyboard to the paperwhite, but oddly I'm not enjoying the lighted screen... Maybe this would be a better option.
can we add PDF books to it and read them? Like downloading a book on PC and putting it in kindle's memory to read it.
Hey dude thanks for video . Tell me how to adjust brightness , please help me !
Thank you for the review. Very helpful.

Hi Thanks for informative details.
Please could you share the experience of reading the PDFs vs Mobi and Amazon format?
And how it works, when we are converting any format to which is supported by this device; using tools freely available online.
Awaiting for your reply.

I have this very same reader for 4 months now. But I just can't get newspapers to read on it. Please help.
Is it worth of buy 2nd handle kindle 8th Gen in 2021 ?
Is it possible to transfer book from usb cable
Thanks for this review! My son just got this for his birthday. But I'm dismayed to see how DARK the screen is! Is there no way to adjust the screen brightness? I know you said you can't use it in the dark, but even when the curtains are drawn, you can't see very well. Help!
+Thrift Diving Unfortunately this version of the Kindle isn't great in poorly lit places. And you can't increase the screen brightness. I would recommend returning it and getting the Kindle Paperwhite Instead: amzn.to/2cMcQQo
If that isn't an option, you could always use a clip-on booklight to brighten the surface.
As a certified geek, I love Kindle. It doesn't distract me like the rest of my devices as well as it doesn't kill my eyes. It's sort of relaxing to use it.
Thanks for the comment
Hi, can we transfer PDF?
What about voice-view screenreader? I have this feature in my kindle.
How do I change the text size on it
Do you know if you can download pdfs to this kindle?

What do you guys think. Paperweight or touch?
Are downloaded books from amazon for this model DRM free OR are they subjected to KFX treatment?
Does someone know how to change the size font?
But why is it in black and white? How come did they miss producing it in full color? It was a dealbreaker for me.
Nice review -- thank you.
+Pyotr Leflegin Thank you! Please subscribe
Can I charge the Kindle by plugging the usb cabel in my laptop? I mean, can I charge it through my laptop?

Question, if I have a library with many kindle books stored in my Macbook can I install them in Kindle? through USB or does it synch?
Yep you can. There are many tutorials on CZcams for that
How do i turn up brightness
Thank u so much it has helped a lot
+Isha Mishra Glad it helped, Isha. Please subscribe
ReviewLamp.com sure I already have
+Isha Mishra Thanks!
Is this still a good entry level ereader? Locally the paperwhite is twice the price, so I'm thinking of just getting this one as my first ebook reader.
Yes, it definitely is.
perfect review. mentioned everything. gonna subscribe to ur channel.
the question i have is if the kindle paperwhite has an inbuilt back light, how is it not dofferent than any other led tablet screen. also, whether it has a feature to turn the back light on or off completely or do we hv to manage brightness just like in our phone?
+Vijay Adhikari Thanks! The difference is really that the E-ink technology in Kindles is much easier on the eyes than a tablet's screen.
Vijay Adhikari It is not exactly a backlight. There are four LED lights at the bottom part of the Kindle reflecting light onto the screen. If you compare it with the backlight on a tablet, it is not as harsh.
No, you can't completely turn off the light in kindle. Even at the minimum setting, the light is on. But it is hardly noticeable unless you are in complete darkness.
Yes, you can control the brightness level like in a mobile. But there is no auto-brightness sensor. Only the Kindle Voyage has that functionality.
But HOW can I control the brightness level? I don't see a button for that (thanks!)
thank you for your review. Can I make the page brighter? I don't see a brightness icon.
As I mentioned in the review, it has a constant brightness, as it is an E-ink display. It won't get any brighter.
Can I read science books with figures and tables in kundle
Do I need to be connected to the internet to use the dictionary while reading?
Can it read PDF's?
Does anyone know if Wattpad is available on this kindle?
can i download PDF at this kindle?
Help!!
I have a Kindle Fire 6th gen that is driving me crazy!
I mainly use my Kindle for reading but can find no way to remove a book from the display page unless I delete it from my library. I've tried placing them in 'cloud' categories but that doesn't remove them. My old Kindle would let me add a book to 'Favorites' then remove it from the display carousel. Is there anything similar to that on my new one?
Thank You.
The link that was sent is for a Canon EOS.
excellent review
Thanks!
is this model still good to buy? I am looking for a not too expensive option and this one looks like a best one so far.
I recommend the newer Kindle 10th Gen: czcams.com/video/x7qhWX_keVI/video.html
que tendrá que ver la review con los libros q hay??
Thank you for your flawless review! just one favor can you add the specs in text about the time? how much time it still working after one charge, etc. very detailed please and ppi also. and by the way do you recommend me to purchase this 2016 one or so you you recommend me to wait for the next 2017 one?
Can you upload third party pdf files to kindle?
My 2018 kindle basic is working fine till this date
Thanks for the comment
Can I download WPS Office and read in it?
is kindle handle pdf toooo??
Thanks for the review. I'd like to know which features become unavailable when not connected to WIFI, specifically the interactive features like definitions and translations. Also, do you know if it's possible to buy and download ebooks in multiple languages with this model?
+Riley Thomas A few of the interactive features will be lost without WiFi. The downloaded book will remain accessible though. It should be possible to download books in several languages, provided those books are available for sale on the Amazon Kindle store, in those languages.
Cool. Thanks for answering!
You can't send books to the device. If you have an EPUB, you should be able to send it to the device email and convert it to AZW (native Kindle format). But you can't do it without Wi-Fi. You can't translate words either. So, you can't use it to read in another language.
Can I read any downloaded files
Does it bother your eyes or not, anytime when you click the screen to move to the next page, it glares black negative color as a transition effect?
The transition hasn’t bothered me so far
Can I send pdf through email to kindle and then read? Is it possible in this 8th generation Kindle??
Yess
Are the books free?
haven't seen the vid yet still waiting to load ;D
after reading do I need to switch off the Kindle or can I keep it on standby mode..
if I keep it on standby mode, does the battery life be affected ??
+Kunal Khurana You can keep it on standby. The battery life is pretty good
How much the price of kindle??
Can i read other pdf files in it....
Can i sync my iphones's Kindle to a physical kindle thru WIFI ?
+greg austin Yes, I believe you can
The only inconvenience is that you can't adjust the brightness of the screen. From this point of view...it's horrible.
Can you read books that you have purchased or downloaded from sites other than amazon? Also, is there any micro sd slot?
+Saoumitaa G It doesn't have a micro sd card slot. But you can add PDF books: www.amazon.com/gp/sendtokindle/email
Ah perfect! Thank you so much!!
I have this kindle but I Have problem with PDF files
Can we read articles on Wikipedia on it?
How do I turn up the brightness?
MM_ N there is no back light
lol
does anyone tried reading PDF format here?
i read some reviews from the people who bought kindle before and many of them claimed that there device started to hang or stopped working( in few cases) after a month or so. Is this true?
I certainly haven’t heard of that or experienced it?
I see. Thank you.
