one of those rare youtube moments where you intend to dabble in a few Hip tracks and its now an 1hr35 mins later, done the whole show. again. whoever took the time to film this for the fans. THANKS. what a show. In Violet Light had such an impact on my life at the time, great to see a show captured in this quality from the era. THANKS!

Ever listen to a Hip album again and find it's gotten better than the last time you listened? Happens to me every time. The first time I heard In Violet Light, I wasn't sure what to think. Now I'd count it as perhaps my favorite album of theirs.

It's a testament to the band and their character that so many of us feel so deeply moved by their music and by Gord's passing. Very rare indeed. Rest in peace.

This was the day after they played in Berlin at a small venue called The Loft. That was the only time I got to see them live and it was an unforgettable experience. The best concert I've been at to date. RIP Gord.

The dynamic sound and sheer force of energy that these 5 men create is beyond words. The HIP are more addictive than pure heroin.

Did anyone else hear Gord speaking the lyrics of the future Mean Streak toward the end of Bobcaygeon? To think this was a year and a half before the release of In Between Evolution...what a mind, what a musician, what a band.

If you get into watching a lot of live Hip bootlegs, you will notice Gord doing that all the time. He constantly tries out poems and lyrics from current things hes working on, which usually end up on the next album. The That Night In Toronto DVD is a great example. Lots of We Are The Same snippets. I love that about him too. Always working the craft.

Words cannot describe how much I respect these fellas, good sir. I was introduced by an Ontarian friend in 2010 and have been hooked on the work of these true craftsmen ever since. Seems like Gord did what you mentioned almost as a matter of course from the little bootleg material I’ve gotten my hands/eyes on. In the (Hip-sanctioned/recorded?) Fillmore SF concert filmed in 2000, he injects quite a lot of what would later appear in Coke Machine Glow, from what I can tell. Sounds like you’ve had the privilege of seeing a wider range of fan-filmed snippets. Did you ever see them live?

@@MJLanzend8 yeah, 25 times from 97 until 2016. I'm the real deal. Cool story about you discovering them in 2010. My life was in ruins after Gord died. Getting better though.
