I would have bought SW Motech Blaze panniers. With those you can unclip the brackets as well as the panniers so you don’t have any unnecessary frames when you take the panniers off. Looks much neater. And they do fittings for both your Triumph and Kawasaki.

I like the unclipping system, but in my opinion the bags don't quite have the right style for modern classic bikes, and I reiterate it's only my opinion. Also they don't have any kind of security, meaning anyone can take the bags out without the keys or any tools.
I do agree with you on them being a neater solution in terms of being able to easily remove the brackets for that "clean" look, and I wish H&B and other manufacturers would follow suit in that aspect.

I will mention again the many options from SW Motech. Racks are minimalistic, solid and easy to install with few mounting points. Well thought out. And, German, of course.
I just installed the panniers on my 2023 Moto Guzzi yesterday. I chose the “Urban” cases. Very sharp and top class.
I can now interchange bags with others from same brand. I ordered one side bag that is more floppy for holding small items and my laptop bag as I don’t need full panniers daily.
Great option for your Kawasaki! They seem to update bike list frequently (on top of it) for new bike models. If your bike is not listed, write to them and they do listen. I suggested Zero electric bike racks that were not offered and six months later they appeared! They designed bike-specific racks for the Zero SR/F with photos and all! Very few of this brand are likely requested, so decent of them.

Hi Andy, I think those panniers are absolutely spot on for the Twin. They look great on the bike 👍 But if it were me, they would have to stay on the bike permanently. ( I mentioned before my dislike of 'scaffolding' ). Even though these brackets are fairly compact, for me at least, they ruin the back end of the bike 😢 So glad that they are not available for the gorgeous RS 😉

Hi Nico from Holland here. I own a Kawasaki z900rs and I mounted the legend gear bags with the slc system from sw-motech. I also mounted the grab rail from sw-motech, because the orinigal rails from Kawasaki do not fit with the slc system. You can get the legend great bags from 10 to 13,5 liters. I think on balance I'd go for a top box, which would hold a helmet (or two), and well out of the way of all the crud from the road. I know the idea is to look retro, but practicality is more important to me. Those leather straps may look authentic but (as shown in the video) they flap around in the wind, and they would be the first things to wear out.

I really don't like side panniers on a bike. It's not just my personal likes and dislikes, it's the fact they stick out so far. I much prefer the top boxes and in particular the Ventura soft bags. I had the bracket fitted to my new Trumpy (T100) and found their Mistral bag (which they don't make anymore) on Facebook Marketplace. Happy as Larry with that arrangement and think it looks really good!!
There's also enough room now on the back seat for camping gear, which I'm thinking of getting back into after donkeys years of staying in hotels/motels or apartments.
But, as they say, each to their own on the luggage front. 😺

Hey Andy. A bit off topic. Any thoughts on the new 1300 GS. For me, I took one look at that bike, and a week later I purchased my dream bike. Yep you guessed it, 2023 R 1250 GS. I’m over the moon with this new bike. Run her in at the Great Smoky Mountains. Could not be more excited for my new ride. 😎

I'll be honest, initially the thought of leather type panniers, brought images of cowboy boots and the like.. But yea I think they work/look really well, especially on that colour speed twin. Good to have the option of practicality 👍.

Just buy another pair for Kawasaki. They look great on the Triumph, finishes it off. Bags are great utility. Keep some Rok Straps and some tools, rain jacket and pants.
