As someone already said, nowadays MotoGP bikes are way too powerful to not have any TC, I don't think these bikes make 250 hp, I'm sure they make more, like 275 or maybe 290 like Ducati, so imagine trying to ride something that has almost 300hp and weight 160kg, it's pretty much suicide without TC, a MotoGP bike isn't like those video-game F1 cars where it's possible to drive them without any TC, you need TC or you'll die.

This has been going on for a while in Motogp and WSBK, AMA back in 09 maybe earlier. The bike knows where it is for engine braking and traction control. It may be against the rule in MotoAmerica. Sort of a bummer cuz it lends to who is the better software engineer than who is the better rider, or who has the better bike. Spec ecu was implemented in MotoGP due to factories with more resources having an unfair advantage over the smaller factories by having much more complex electronics and a much larger staff programmers to work on electronics in the pits. They were racing computers instead of motorcycles and the races were more like parades, there were some great moments. The introduction of the spec ecu put an end to that garbage. Race laptops somewhere else, not during a gp.

the whole point of the GP is to drive the innovation of the bikes, and sell bikes for manufacturers. You can see the trickle down tech in road bikes a few years after its used in GP. Look at ducati's now. V4 engines, electric suspension, wheelie control, aero etc. all came from the GP.
There would be no point in running moto gp with 2 strokes now. The relevance to street bikes is nill. I think the racing in the GP is spectacular. Its clear each manufacturer has different development priorities and so will have advantages and disadvantages to play around. Seeing bikes slide in sideways under brakes for the first corner after the ducati's big HP gained an overtake down the main straight, but the more nimble yamaha might gain it straight back around the bend.
GP is the top tier of road bike racing. What good would it be if they rode control bikes with engine technology that had already been maxed out, never improved further and could not be found on the street bikes you want to buy?

Effing tronics need to go away and the engines should be cut back to 700 ish cc's. I want to see wheelies, power slides and guys losing because they burned their tires off. Leave the aero.

This is an interview, not a personal conversation. Could the guy doing the interview please stop talking over Jack? I want to hear what Jack says, not you saying "yeah" over and over, or interjecting otherwise. I can't hear what Jack says. So then what is the point of doing an interview?
