COVID has shown the unfortunate truth that even as we proudly declare our country a "Christian" nation, we turned our backs on those who suffered most from this pandemic in favor of whining and moaning about our "freedom" to do what we want, even as it meant death for those around us. WE refuse to bear the cross for our fellow human beings; and we will ultimately face a fate of suffering we can't even imagine. Here was a true prophet and a good, decent man who tried to stir our conscience to the meaning of the cross and how the lynching tree and white supremacy must be faced and atoned for to actually become a nation that truly understands the message of Jesus.

With all due respect, we are dealing with a world-wide hatred, with spiritual wickedness in high places. And, if we believe the Holy Bible, we have a charge to preach the Kingdom of heaven, to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. America is not innocent, nor anyone that has graced the face of this earth. The Cross, the crucifixion of the Son of God is the turning point. Without the Resurrection we would be fried, dyed and dead inside. The Resurrection is the power of God that causes me to sing, to preach, to teach, to give and to live. I pray that we keep our mind on the Lord, be led by the Spirit and not fulfill the lust of the flesh. I agree the conversations are needed, prayers are needed, change is needed and newness of Life is needed. Yes, I understand the Black American experience... the murderous spirit is prevalent and bodacious through mankind of every color. My heart breaks not only when law enforcers kill our children, even more - when our children kill our children. Satan uses whomsoever will - all over the world. I pray and trust the True and the Living God ...and I trust no man; however, I am to forgive, to love, to pray for and to be a help, in Jesus name. God bless you all with life and that more abundantly. Amen. May God take our wonderful brother Professor James Cone from faith to faith, strength to strength and glory to glory. Amen.

There is truth in what the man is saying....The Cross has become a piece of jewelry with no power. Yea, even rock stars like Madonna, Prince, David Bowie and Tom Jones and Elvis wore it, just a piece of jewelry, a religious bit of magic. But the Cross is indeed the way of salvation, atonement, reconciliation and discipleship.
