A great lecture, but I wanted to say that whoever the person was making the closing remark had me smiling every time he spoke, a wonderful spirit!

Anybody else felt that Professor Cone deserved a much better introduction than he got??
The tone of both speakers and language was off…

Blacks and whites can be prejudiced. Prejudice with power is racism. The sin of some whites. We need to put prejudice and racism behind us. God calls us to love one another.

The story of The Cross and the Lynching Tree had to be told. True Christianity is about love through Christ. It's time for black and white Christians to heal and give up prejudice and racism.

@@London_miss234 people like you who suggest that black people are prejudice are not educated as to the implications of prejudice . And it's your failure to grasp the implication of prejudice that explains why you are wrong to accuse any black of acting with prejudice intentions .
Doctor James Cone clearly articulates in his lecture the potential for the oppressed to be overwhelmed with hatred for those whom caused their pain then Doctor Cone adds that although it may seem as a just and natural reaction to hate those who committed evil against us ,the power of the cross lift us up beyond hate into consciousness of the will of God taking place . We bear the sins of a racist cult ,we are wounded for your spiritual salvation . White people desperately need spiritual salvation , your comments proves as much . You hated me without a cause , the same can not be said of black people .

@@terryholmes1325 it goes both ways and why should people of today feel guilty for actions of those in the past. We must move beyond this repetitive conversation if we hope to make any progress at all.

I feel moved to comment. I think you do have something to say but the seemingly endless introduction compelled me to click away before listening. It could be that I tired of sermons after a long night but this sermon did seem to drone on and on without saying a thing which is the opposite of speech.
