Needed this exact video, Thanks!
Glad to help
bass sounds are slappin on this, was suprised!
Thanks for watching!
This sounds really dope. There's a lot you can do with this synth but at ~ cad $1,700 I'm leaning more towards the MODX 6 as my first keyboard synth. Happy New Year
Cool, yeah I can definitely understand that choice, thanks for watching!
Hey great video! Any idea how to bring up the category list you show in this video (as opposed to presets listed by model of synth). Thanks for any help!
Yeah when in model mode if you hit the other buttons after the model buttons you’ll get categories. You can also customize what is on each button.
More sound categories please
Thanks for watching
Customize and layer is the name of the game with XV engine! I used to get it in on the Fantom-S. For the Jupiter I’m interested in the VA engine. Do the deep synthesis features feel accessible?
Yeah you can def customize and layer on this joint quickly. Man, outside of the front panel I don't really enjoy diggin into the menu on this at all hahaha. But...the front panel is pretty useful for sound design/synthesis so I'm not complaining, but if I'm required to go into the menu I'd rather not.
SoundsAndGear Thanks Joe! That’s good feedback!
Digital Diezel no doubt fam
Thanks!
No problem, thanks for watching!
@@SoundsAndGear Please make video with the orchestra sounds of xm, if you have time. Very interesting. Thank you.
@@alex_masiuk On the list, we'll see, thanks for watching!
Thanks I subbed. I bought this piece and can't find a good Rhodes, Wurli, and B3 sound on it. You seem to be quite knowledgeable with those sounds. Did you find any? They are surprisingly absent from the RD engine
They are pretty basic in that category imo, the RD engine is only the piano as far as I know. Be cool to see if they add the Supernatural acoustic sounds from the previous Jupiter series.
@@SoundsAndGear OK thanks for the response. Hopefully addressed in a future update
@@steelcitysi would be cool for sure
Doesn’t the RD use the Zen-Core engine? I’m guessing those sounds should be in that sound engine. I’d be curious to hear the electric piano sounds as well.
I think it sounds great judging from this video.. It has the looks and sounds. I didn't realize it has real instruments it's pretty cool. But reality check for me is my wallet lol Im happy with sampletank & syntronik I'm not much of a composer anyway. It's more than enough for me. But If i were looking at shopping for a hardware synth this would probably be at the top of the list. Thanks for showing it off for us. Wishing you a Happy New Year. Take Care!
Thanks for watching fam! Yeah, that's the interesting part about it for me, the fact that it has synth and acoustic instruments. However, I agree with you, I do think, considering what's all in there, the price isn't too bad (I always wished the Integra-7 was a keyboard) but not sure it is something I would purchase at this point, definitely wouldn't complain if it was a bit less. I do dig the form factor but I'd like to see some refreshed acoustic stuff in there. I'm sure they will update it though!
SoundsAndGear yea. The last bit of hardware I owned (and got rid of) was the Yamaha moxf 6. It was nice and everything it just sounded too nice and clean. I kept composing pretty beats lol no hip hop was made. Plus I couldn’t keep up the payments it had to go. I have a love hate relationship with hardware.
@@dopesnare I'm dying right now LOL you said pretty beats hahahaha! LOL!!!!!! I feel you though, if it don't make sense it gotta go.
I like the look and build quality of the Roland Jupiter Xm,but the sounds are just o.k,thanks for the review St Joe.👍🏿
No doubt, thanks for watching!
Half the reason I watch these videos is to dance around in my chair to the opening jingle.
Hahahahaha lol thanks for watching!
с Новым Годом!
You too, thanks for watching!
It sound identical to my €850 (used) Jupiter 50 with six octaves full size keys...
Pretty much the same sounds, of course minus all of the Supernatural acoustic sounds you have on yours LOL. I think the "thing" on this one is the model engines.
@@SoundsAndGear I think it is the multi timbrality that needs to sell the Xm.
You can get Jupiter 80 for less than a new Xm. I find the Xm good sounding but at €1500 new it is a wee bit exensive.
@@mikehydropneumatic2583 Yeah, that too, and the voice count. I didn't get a chance to try the previous Jupiter but was always interested in it.
acoustic sounds on a vintage synth??? no thanks
It's not a vintage synth lol
