#RolandJupiter #RolandJupiterXm #Synthesiser - Hudba
You can never make a video that is too long. If this video was 2 hours long, I'd still watch it. Your videos always make me feel better than before. All that positive energy...
Happy Jupiter-Xm owner here. The creative potential of this thing is amazing - take a look at the smiles of the people playing it on all the channels on CZcams (vs. your average analog modeling or 2019 cheap analog recreation that's fun, but one-dimensional).
Being able to layer synth parts and beats is awesome for creativity (5 layers and 256 note polyphony). I'm taking mine everywhere, and keeping extra charged batteries (watch Gattobus' video when he plays by a creekside). ROLAND: please make awesome travel bags with the Jupiter logo!
For the drums, are they only ai or can you make a drum track too under your synth tracks?
@@StonneBone You can control drums as you please: keyboard, step-edit (worth reading up on to get an idea), external
can you set it as a 909 for example? to record a drum channel on a daw track?
Mine arrived yesterday and I still haven’t come down...! I recreated some old JX-8P and Jupiter 8 patches and to my older ears they were really close and could be closer with some tweaking. 5 parts (1 reserved for percussion), you can model so many older systems, and then they added extra filters. You can play with Moog and Sequential style filter modelling. I know there will be purists about the fact it’s digital, modelling analog, but who cares if you get really, really close. Add in that it allows oscillator drifting based on the internal temperature of the synth and even that that be tweaked. It is expensive, but value is judged on pleasure and I feel like I have got great value. Very portable too. Thanks Claudio for your usual highly charged and pleasurable run through. This synth may need a series of videos to do it justice....Thank you. Teddy
That was a very cool observation from you!
This is the first thing I’ve seen in a long time that brought a big smile to my face, and it was all to do with the way you come across. Superb video, superb demonstration of the joy of music. Liked, subscribed, and will now catch up with your other videos. Keep up the great work, you clearly know how to stand out on CZcams.
This synthesizer Roland Jupiter Xm is FANTASTIC!
The best Channel of CZcams learning analog instruments happy New year Man 2020 and more BAAAASS
Man, Rolands are absolutely amazing! I recently scored myself a Roland Juno D! Absolutely love it!
There’s just something about a Roland (even a digital one) that makes me feel so good when I hear it
Roland is still great.
@@wetfishtail6 They have come back strongly after a number of years in the doldrums.
Hats off to Roland for bringing a younger brother to jupiter 8...
Never thought a jupiter 8 could be emulated in today's day n age....
One of my favorite Modern day synthsizer and love the fact that its affordable...
I like youtubers like you who don't take themselves so damn serious and have a good laugh and fun during the presentation without the permanent pressure of perfection. Well done! Best of success with all your business ventures. Love and light from sunny Thailand, Franky
probably because he is skilled and experienced, not to mentioned he's not showing us any rejected video segments that he redid or omitted for this final product we get to see =)
Dude, just gorgeous vidos, I love the sounds of this synthesizer, Happy New Year to you 2020 !!!!
You have the best job on the planet and you share with others, you've made my day with this thank you 😊.
People of earth. If you find a person that's as passionate about your wellbeing as Claudio is about opening boxes . . .
Keep them around as long as you can. And as always thank you for another great gear video :D
I love your enthousiasm, felt like me when I bought my very first synthesizer: " the Roland Jupiter 6 "
Just imagine how better he would play if he had more rings in his fingers.
The new "Lord of the Rings".
Unless he had the one ring....
It's the bells on the toes that make the difference. The Doctor plays plenty good even without rings :) Maybe a few more rings would help us all play better.
Do you mean 'more ring fingers'? That I would understand!
Nooo! One more ring would make him "Evil Dr.Mix"!!! I like him happy!
After seeing this video Claudio I'm going to predict in 30 years time, this synth is going to be one of the most sought after of this era!
Right when you started playing it, for some reason Duran Duran popped into my head.
Same here... I was hoping that was where he was going with it!
'Save a prayer'.
@@itstheterranaut Indeed, thanks :)

This synth is amazing ! Wow !
Oh doctor your enthusiasm is infectious and your musicality is hard to match. Brilliant sounding and extremely versatile Roland Jupiter Xm, what a tour de force. I’ll take what you’re prescribing doctor mix!
This synthesizer is just amazing !! I watch all your videos and i've bought a synthesizer thanks to you :) Claudio you are a genius and i'm convinced that you're channel can cure diseases... Big hi friendly from France !
I wish you were my music teacher when I was at school haha
A.N.E this is why we have CZcams 😉
But we need his smile and jokes also.
Always a joy to see you having fun 😂
You are a joy to watch. Wish you the best this new Year.
Those presets sound absolutely insane! The quality and variety are nothing short of epic. I'd spend forever messing with it if I had one, and probably even accidentally learn to properly play keyboard in the process. I have a couple old keyboards I poke at from time to time for fun.
Nice to see a kid in an adult body having so much fun :)........The way it's supposed to be
Man, i love all your videos. Cheers from Brazil.
Ohh man! I didn't expect too much from the Jupiter's baby! Unbelievable! Nice job Dr. Mix!!
This whole video is great!! The piano ending was nice too. I didn't want it to end
Man I don't play keys at all but I just love this channel and subscribed to hear you play. I could just listen to you play a simple pure piano sound for hours. Thanks man.
I LOVED the chords you played using the piano preset at the end!
I think Claudio (aka Dr Mix) is like me, Italian. Here we had a talk-show called 'Maurizio Costanzo Show', very very famous at that time, I mean, when we were in 90's... This was the opening tune, a song from the Italian composer Franco Bacardi, titled 'se penso a te' (if I think of you') czcams.com/video/MeI2pZMxoC0/video.html
@@SjN7HETIK Franco Bracardi RIP
Grande dott. mix. Incredibile l'entusiasmo che riesci a trasmettermi in ogni tuo video!
Wow...! I´m impressed by the sound. That low register at 6:33, amazing. Thanks for the demo!
I got one of the full size Jupiter X synths about a month ago. It's a very idiosyncratic and quirky synth to operate. I have to say, despite being digital, the sound is awe inspiring and the synth is capable of making extraordinary sounds. Using the "aging" feature and dialing in the effects right you can absolutely make it sound nearly identical to an analogue synth. All the synth engines are great, but the Jupiter 8 and Juno 106 modelers really stand out. It also has an amazingly great sounding selection of piano and organ sounds. There do still seem to be some bugs that haven't completely got worked out in the synth, but a lot of them have been fixed with firmware updates. I'm still not sure yet if I'd trust this synth in a live setting, but its absolutely amazing in a studio environment. I use it as part of my studio rig along with a Prophet 5 and Korg Prologue. Between the 3 I'm to get a wide range of complimentary and contrasting sounds.
Wow, that sounds incredible!
I think the piano sound is literally the most impressive thing about this (very impressive) unit. If you told me it was going to sound that spot on, I wouldn't believe it.
It looks like some of the Xm sounds are derived from the Roland XV-5080 and RD series pianos, which are both PCM based. I absolutely love the samples that Roland was using around the time of the XV series, and it is really fun to see the SC-880 and SD-20 I have sitting next to me live on through these keyboards! ^.^
Fun fact: The SD-90 (the SD-20's larger sibling) is very close to the XV series in lineage.
rickrudd Most impressive for you , to me it’s all the synth tones.
I have a Yamaha Keyboard with a fully sampled Grand Piano, sounds good but it depends on what you use to connect it to... Amp, Speakers, Headphones???
@@garyseymour9672 I know my SC-880 from '98 sounds amazing whether I have it hooked up to my computer for recording, my stereo, or headphones for monitoring. The piano sounds are quite realistic (when it comes to sampled pianos) and I even have used them once or twice (even though a lot of my music doesn't really use piano, there have been a few occasions where I've used them).
Roland are doing a killer streak really
Amazing as usual!
OMG!!This thing sounds absolutely gorgeous
Another great video. I might just pick one of these up. Thanks Doctor Mix.
My god - that piano sound at 14:58 !!!! It’s so damn WARM!! Gorgeous.
As usual, another super enjoyable video!! Thank You!! :-)
Killer music from killer talent and equipment. Love your enthusiasm dude, play on playah!
Glad to see another video swaying me towards the purchase much obliged!
Damn. Awesome !! Always love your vids 👍👍👍👍👍
You are Awesome Doc!
You are an amazing keyboard player, I love listening to you jam out! Great videos, keep up the good work.
I absolutely adore your energy!!!!
If there was a whole hour long video of Dr. Mix jamming on any synth, it wouldn't feel long enough.
Very interesting sounds! Love it!
A great review so far that I’ve watched for this device.. awesome 👌🏼 I think I might get one for myself soon haha..
You can open up a museum with all your awsome Synths. Keep on jamming to those true original sounds
She's a beaut! So many useful sounds from the 80s...
Brilliant sounds and you played perfect tunes :)
Woww!!!! This small rig sounds fantastic ! In every way - leads, pads, piano . Doctor Mix very well played ! I impressed how you fit your fingers on these small keys , hahaha:)
Great vibe and talent! I'm left with a big fat smile on my face!
Absolutely awesome! Cheers
I love JUPITER my first polyphonic keyboard was JUPITER 4, a beautiful memory. Perfect for new age music. Negative point, it is too small for my big fingers. :-)
Thank you for the advice, to identify the POWER SUPPLY, excellent idea, when we have more. Happy new year 2020. Viva Music
I have this synth, and it is amazing. Its is identical in features to the Jupiter X, but with less knobs and smaller keybed. Roland told me it was due to be just a module, but I am so glad they put the 3-octave mini-keybed on it. I love the quality of it. Plus you have aftertouch and velocity keys.
It has 256 voices polyphonic with 5 part timbral - & the AI-arpeggiator alters depending upon how you play and how you setup control of each of the 4 instruments + rhythm. Plus you can set the Ai automation per tone (instrument) and can have 4 separate instruments playing at the same time plus rhythm.
When you understand how the menus works with scenes, tones and parts, etc.. you can make this thing sound magical. I particularly like how you can create some truly unique & incredible sounds with the Sen-core engine (from the fantom) instruments when you start screwing around with the osc, Lfo and filters, etc. If you dig deep into the menus the effects can be altered per part (ie. per instrument). Turning on the aging filter in the main system menu has the effect of when its warmed up it goes all zonky, emulating analogue circuitry when hot.
I guarantee that after a week, you will be hooked. Enjoy :)
Nb.: not only does it have 4 speakers, it can run for 4 hours on 8x AA (NimH) batteries
robertsc1 no aftertouch on xm keyboard and poly is dependent on what is being used - it's 256 PCM voices in total but zencore patches can use 2 per partial (left and right) and 4 partials per part - so 8 voices per note without unison. VA oscillators/partials and VCF filters reduce polyphony further. Polyphony drops to 32 total/8 per part when just using the VA models (jup8/juno106 etc)
Love this synth. Great video Thanks!
MASSIVE SOUNDS!
Du bist der absolute Hammer ! Ich höre den Clip jetzt zum 5.Mal .. absolut ehrlich ! Spiel noch mehr auf Roland Jupiter ..Grüsse !!!
That's great! Great sounds!)
Sold!! Just as all your videos are fun and very jolly!!
Lovely as usual.
Yeah! Great video, 👍🏻
Just awesome presentation. I loved the last piano part the most, but man those nice sounds in such a small package.
Love exactly musicians like you are.
We need more!!!!! Thanks for video, It’s awesome 👍👍👍
😮 this thing sounds amazing,
Your a delight to hear, keep it up!
Love the sound FX you made with your mouth from time to time. Makin' it fun! That's the way life needs to be 24/7. Why not!?
Gets my like for being able to play that well on such tiny keys.
I love it insanely
Amazing sounds of synthesizer. Thank you very much.
I can’t wait to get mine. Mid-way down my current purchase list. Going to be very fun, I already know
Superb demo!
Cant wait for the Jupiter X to be released!
How perfect to end on that very awesome sounding piano👌🏽
The melody you played at 3:43 was really beautiful. Nice.
Really nice demo of the XM little Jupiter 2019
Looking at the Jupiter Xm and looking at my Minilogue and thinking about how much it now disappoints me. Then I look at the Jupiter Xm's price and apologize to the Minilogue.
I agree, the price is high for what it is ultimately. For $1500+ price range, you can get some amazing analog goodness. If you're all about roland, than the price does beat buying their 7 flagship synth modules individually...guess it just depends on your needs and whether you can rationalize paying that much haha.
I have a Minilogue xd and i thought they were the same price because for me it does not make a huge difference. my minilogue xd can mostly do the same for just 600€ instead of 1400€. I love my Minilogue xd. it can be so awesome! oh and also it is analogue mixed with digital parts which combines the best of the 2 worlds.
This thing sounds so good
Once again they did it!
Dr mix makes me smile
Possibly one of the best synths ever made
What a great synthetizer !!! I want to buy the same in a few months. At 2mn 11, it sounds like Duran Duran "Save a prayer". What a nice synthesizers collection you have in your home studio.
Claudio always enjoys himself
Doctor Mix at his best!
Doctor Mix ho sognato fantastiche melodie mentre suonavi questo synth!!! stupendo, amaaaaazing ;)
Yayyyyyyy!!!!
I Love it !
so perfect video for me,ty
Great review thanks
Your excitement and enthusiasm are infectious. I feel like meeting you would be really fun! ^.^
That is some super catchy playing
Wow..my god. It's awesome...
What fun! KEEP GOING!!
The Piano is so impressive
Sounds nice!!
Great video! Nice sounding synth also. Gear lust envoking.
Ah, 14:58, I'm such a sucker for a lovely warm piano sound and that sounds ace. Great video lads, always a joy to watch someone having a great time playing anything, extra so when their talent and experience shine through like here. :)
Roland really did a great job with this one. I don't see myself selling it anytime soon, if ever.
