To anyone that might do this, like me, I'd suggest keeping the sprayer pumped up to maximum pressure with the nozzle adjusted for finest spray.
Hey man great vids keep them up. With that out of the way I got a idea for you. You should try making your own concoction so to speak. IDK maybe mixing Chevron techron fuel system cleaner with this Berrymans and a few others and doing like a combo punch to those valves.
Keep it up man good content
Thanks so much i have been putting things together to be able to make it alot better
Please test REDLINE, Nate! Thank you, & kudos on your endeavor!
I dump the whole can down the oil hole. Never fails!
B-12 actually works pretty well just added to your fuel tank. I had to take my Sentra in for a intake cleaning because of all the short trips I do in it. Nothing worked that I added to my tank before hand till I found B-12. I was amazed indeed that it did. Still very surprised. Saved me loads of money.
Yes b12 is very strong and inexpensive.
Putting fuel additive in the gas of a gdi engine wont help, since fuel never passes over the intake valves.
There are some benefits but i use the products also in a sprayer
Putting additive in the gas of a gdi engine won't help you.
@@viking.200 that is incorrectly stated. Idiot.
hey man how about you mix a bottle of b12 with a bottle of sea foam and a pint of marvel mystery oil and a quart of gas in the pump up sprayer and spray the whole thing in the engine and show results?
hell, throw a bottle of gumout in there too. whats it gonna do? all that stuff will burn just fine!
I also seemed to have more get up and go , unless that was just me thinking it had more power LOL
My engine had a pinging noise when i slightly accelerated, and i used this stuff, i believe the pinging noise either stopped or it was very much eliminated
Love your videos.. Subbed!
Will you test Lacquer thinner in the intake? Id really like to see that test
I found this in spray can version could I still safely use it to clean valves with it? Also wonder if any of these products could be harmful to catalytic converters
I didn't see much improvement visually. Did you see any improvement in mileage or how it runs?
Dude it’s nice to have a beater car to experiment on it and not feel bad about it
Yes thats very true ive taken a liken to my ole beater i show it in other videos
Me gusta esa forma
Would it be bad to do a 16 ounce can of b12 and 16 ounces of gas and squirt it in your intake this way would it cause a fire 🔥
can u help how to install oil catch can on gdi engines?
FYI, it works much better if you soak the valves (while they're closed) with B-12, then use drill wire brush to clean it
How does one ensure the valves are closed. I was tinkering with a breaker bar to rotate the engine and it kinda freaked me out. Mainly because of metal parts rubbing with no oil covering it. Granted car wasn’t running.
@@unitedwestanddividedwefall3521 You can just observe two near cylinders. As one opens up, the other will close, so you can eye it when the one is at max opening, that means the other one next to it is closed. For 4 cyl, as 1 & 4 opens up, the 2 & 3 closes. Even if you get a bit of it inside the cylinder, its no problem, happened to me twice and it will just combust. As long as you don't flood your cylinders.
Would like to see side by side comparisons to really tell.
Do some oil filter reviews of diffrent brands cut open. That'd be interesting stuff. Looks like US119 in Harlan county on the drive, beautiful country .
Yes i will what brands ive been saving filters and thinking up ideas also where are you from?
London, BTW might try a vid on making youre own oil catch can and installing it. Would help out those intake valves and keep checking them periodicaly to see if they clean up.
Liqui Moly takes the cake. CRC 2nd.
Unless anyone has walnut blasting results with anything else that I'm not aware off.
Is the B-12 chemtool in the liquid form in the can have the same ingredients as the B-12 chemtool carb choke and throttle body cleaner in the spray can ???
It's closer to the b12 intake cleaner
The company probably also has a product that is specifically made to inject into the engine's air intake. and the chemical composition is probably therefore also different
This is my opinion on B12 Chemtool. It evaporates pretty fast so it may be a good cleaner when cold but maybe once the engine gets hot, It evaporates too quickly and doesn't do much cleaning. In the video, I saw no difference in the before and after images. I have used b12 Chemtool as directed and I felt no different with performance, better acceleration, better fuel economy. Even after the treatment. I do not know if it cleaned anything or not so I can not say anything good or bad about this product. Also my car is port fuel injected so I imagine my intake valves stay fairly clean since fuel constantly spray onto the intake valves and I always use top tier gasoline from either 76 or Mobil. In my honest opinion, I think B12 is a fuel additive that does not do much because it has the consistency of gasoline while most other fuel additive cleaner are more viscous and more oil-like. Those additives like seafoam and marvel can withstand the heat and does not evaporate easily so the cleaner can soak into the carbon. I have nothing against B12, I might have to test it out again. Its fairly inexpensive at Walmart, cheapest fuel additive at Walmart actually being $3-$4. To sum it up, B12 evaporates too quickly that it does not have the time to clean the carbon. Great video and I would like to hear what you have to say about my theory/opinion.
Richard first off thanks for the info thats exactly what i love in this community NATES INTERACTIVE AUTO NIA the experience and knowledge that can be shared with one another also not all results are the same depending on the car like you said port injection or even wear so its definitely cheap and very strong its cool you mentioned evaporation because ive seen it to be some what similar to alchohol so as a parts cleaner its a fair choice but usinging poured in the tank for injectors or fuel pump ect fair choice now intake valves yes on the evaporation but like wd 40 seafoam crc marvel all have additives that lossen the carbon along with strong cleaner hence the additive loosening the carbon not being in the b12 ive used so far even aerosol can ive tried so you definitely have experience with the product and thanks once again for sharing
@@NATESINTERACTIVEAUTO My pleasure. I also like your channel since I can share my experience and observations with the product you test. There aren't much people that are passionate about these kind of videos about fuel additives but there are a few like us that do care. This is the place where I can speak my mind and people will understand.
@@NATESINTERACTIVEAUTO On the direction of the B12 Chemtool, if I remember correctly, it stated some thg ingredient about it contains acetone. Which is a strong solvent but evaporates quickly.
It would be behoove you to become educated and stop repeating what your little friends may believe. B12 has been shown to be one of the strongest on the market for many years.
Unfortunately, you are intellectually lacking enough that it's superiority to the others you noted has escaped you. Seafoam is a very mild product that is appealing to those with little knowledge, primarily because it produces smoke through the exhaust. It is apparently entertaining to children such as yourself who prefer to remain ignorant. How sad to be you.
Just use a spray bottle on mist.. much less clunky and much better mist
Interesting. Watching the first b12 video where you put in the gas tank had better results. Weird because you would have thought this would have been better results. Maybe it’s the car?
Only difference i would have done is after spraying it for a while with engine running is let it sit and do a hot soak then take it out and run it.
is berryman good chemistry? Does it work well? what is your opinion?
I used berrymans chemtool in several videos check them out & let us know what you want us to try next?
Best way to keep an engine clean is NOT let it get dirty in the first place. Only way to clean an engine as bad as the one in that video....tear it down and clean it the right way.
CRC seems better. What about a long term affect on the fuel additives? actually let them run the course of a full tank and normal driving, before and after shots?
Yes we can do more of those videos check out what ive done that way so far
Avery, the fuel injectors in this engine do not spray onto the valves. This is why intake cleaners do not work to clean the valves. All they do is clean the fuel system and piston tops.
Very new engine designs use port injection and direct cylinder injection. This will be the future IMO (for awhile anyway).
Thank you for the information
I wouldn't trust this dude to work on my lawn mower... Oh my damn
Nate, if you add Berryman into intake, wouldn't you use Berryman 2610 (Combustion Chamber Cleaner) or 0316 (Motor Tune-up) as they suggested to do, instead of spraying this 0116 (Fuel system cleaner)? Great video!
Thanks for sharing and i appreciate you
Just a different way to test as it less expensive if it worked well it a win
@@NATESINTERACTIVEAUTO Ok, no morries. Was just wondering :)
Thanks
I love b12 great price and product
I feel good about b12 also
One thing to consider I wouldn’t go on a drive after the cleaning because that ruins the results once you cleaned it you should have checked first because once you drove it more oil and debris is gonna cover up the cleaned area also if anyone wants to see b12 in action I have a few videos on my channel as well but keep up the work man you got good content
Yeah i let it he soak one hour check out my new video gumout direct injection
Whats the aftermarket air filter for..left of battery. ...
For catch can . For oil Vapors
RPMs were too high.....all the chemical blows right through. Also, liquids don't work, you need a FOAMING type of cleaning agents that can fill the entire top end everywhere and then turn the engine off to let it sit for a few hours. Then it will break up and clean the gunk build-up. And....you'll have to do it ten times.
I don't see the Berryman's doing a good job here. I think a high quality catch can and a Marvel Mystery Inverse Oiler would solve the build up problem.
It may take about 5 to 6 months to clean up significantly. At that point, I would use the Seafoam sprayer for a boost in cleaning. Use again every six months or so.
IMO, Essentialube works well in a Marvel Inverse. oiler.
Yes i use a catch can also thanks for the tips
Marvel mystery oil is only transmission fluid
@@joearden6772 That's not true. There is a gas additive.
That carbon is so bad that your probably better off removing the intake manifold rotate the engine to make shire the valves are closed, use carburetor cleaner to clean the valves without going into cylinder, lot more work but better result.
Nate i work for Berryman and want to send you some free products to try out.
One thing I have noticed in all auto cleaner tests. No one has attempted to heat up the valves they clean to a operating temperature similar to what the valves are heated to in a operating car. This surely would make a difference in how these products work. :(
I have allowed operating temperatures and most of these test are well over a hour imagine the car is already warm after i drove to my shop and then by the time i move the camera and do the same takes over and over then change cameras plus much more so its very hot along with revving the engine after a heat soak of 1 hour then driving at highway speeds after that step
You do it right actually. What I am talking about is testers that just dunk valves into engine cleaners for a day or two. Lots of them out there. :)
Yes your correct but how can we improve our test method.
Maybe get some stainless steel containers to put the solutions and valves into and put them in your oven set at 450Degrees/ for a few hours? :You could do this with a gas grill also. :)
Wow sounds interesting
Nate, if it doesnt clean, say it doesnt. Dont be a sellout
B-12 is very good
I agree so what can we try next
Techron Had some success with this also. B-12 really helped my Old Nissan Sentra with massive carbon buildup which I hardly ever run. Use the Techtron on a newer Civic.
Yes have you seen my old nissan i test in many videos 1988 Nissan sentra
NO ..can you give me a direct link I would love to see it. :)
My 2 newest videos are so you can choose
This is why GDI is no good.... the intake valves have zero chance of staying clean, this mess will only resort in an added repair shop/stealership bill when the engine runs likes its on it last leg.
everytime i add b12 my chevy cruze kill my Evap lol
SMH, this test shows nothing. You have to follow the instructions. Add to your tank one bottle per 12 gallons. it takes about 2 tanks to see results. I used this on my 2011 GMS sierra and it made a huge difference with the way it ran. My wifes Mazda 6 was running rough and i added a can per tank for two tanks and it was amazing the difference it made, Running it in a pump sprayer for a few minutes is not going to do anything!!!! Try to add the correct amount per your tank capacity for two tanks worth and you will see a huge change in the carbon build up on the valves.
Didn't do much honestly try applying it through the vacuum hose
Yes that would be great
to let it soak 10 minutes man
I think you might have some other issues with that engine that are producing the carbon build up. IMO it’s not specifically because it’s a GDI engine.
Yes but this is why that its chosen for testing
Possible too many short runs back to back. Kind of looks like water in addition to oil.
I understand
Best cleaner to clean? I have sprayer.
You be the judge of what is best i recommend watching my video crc vs seafoam
@@NATESINTERACTIVEAUTO Thank you . ill watch video.
Use obd2 to keep the throtle up 2000rpm...
Yes i use a dealer level scan tool its just faster and this way everyone can follow along
@@NATESINTERACTIVEAUTO and maybe it is a new idea to make another video channel 😊
Do you think i should make a second channel also i have so much in the work about to take this channel to the next level because the community is sharing alot of great info
Why all these works?just add it to the fuel tank as instructed.
Because gasoline is not sprayed on top so adding it to the fuel tank would not do anything to help clean the valves
It’s made a difference but this is still really bad. Why not spray a little high quality gasoline? It’s probably cheaper and has really good detergents.
On GDI the fuel does not pass the valve and therefore does not clean
Looks like the pcv valve has been by passed
Its still connected properly
Want to prevent more carbon buildup? Connect a oil catch can after the pcv.
I have one installed passenger side engine compartment also a video on it
Try with water.
My new video is with water
U put it in fuel. Car will run a Lil better
It is probably not the same effect as when you put it in the fuel tank because it is specifically made for that purpose
Maybe you should replace the valve stem seals that would severely help your oil loss I'm sure
Try WD 40 ?
Soon and ideas for oil tournament ?
@@NATESINTERACTIVEAUTO Non .
If in time let me know thanks
@@NATESINTERACTIVEAUTO Will do .
Amsoil coming very soon
You did nothing but clean the piston heads. Its a gdi using the air intake was pointless. You would have been better off putting it in the oil 1000 miles before your next oil change
Those valves are disgusting ! Dear God. , It would take god to help those
A great cleaner would definitely have the work cut out for it.
@@NATESINTERACTIVEAUTO BG additive 44K
doesnt look like it did shit
But ur not using it like says ive dine what says can tell you its works ur using how it is not intend to be used
I'd say that b12 didn't do shit.
Yeah have you ever used b12 if so what was your experience
@@NATESINTERACTIVEAUTO I've never used it. I only watched you use it, and you asked what we the viewers thought. From what I saw, it didn't do anything. Needs a walnut blasting.
Yes im just doing alot of different test to see what is best
@@NATESINTERACTIVEAUTO🤙 I seen differences in throttle response and mpg with 2 bottles of B-12 in 25 gallon tank and 15 gallon tank and 20 gallon tank ✅ Used it on F150 1998 100,000 and 300,000 Ford Explorer 1995
No... Still bad.
looks like mud
Yeah something like that but changing the oil on time can make a great difference
@@NATESINTERACTIVEAUTO Nate, lack of oil change can lead to carbon deposit like this on the intake valve? sorry, i am not very knowledgeable with this kinda stuff. but i do change my oil according to schedule.
Some oil helps with a better rating of noack volatility test also over time if oil is changed at correct interval this improves your chance of dissipation of oil.
Looks like💩still! That stuff is only good for your injectors or carburetors.
No real improvement.
Yeah what can we try next?
Have you tried liquid Molli?? I've seen it work a little.
Not yet
-You wanna know what we think? I think you should hit the moonshine after recording these videos. You don’t explain what we’re supposed to be seeing in these valves. The people who need help with their engines through these videos have no idea what we’re looking at. Maybe you could explain to us what you think when you see what you’re recording. And the people who do know what you’re showing most likely would say- ARE YOU FREAKIN KIDDING ME! LAY OFF THE JUICE BILLY BOB AND STOP WASTING PEOPLES TIME! . . . .Thats what I think! . . . .
