Chinese people with good wages, good education, good health services against America’s lousy health system, homelessness at record highs, people being fined for sleeping in parks and gardens, and food stamps, working two and three jobs to earn a living wage. The US actually tries it's best to do the opposite and stop the world from holding Israel to account in international courts & UN resolutions. Listen, I have a feeling that a lot of the heated debates are based on misunderstandings due to Israel (The Government) conflating the connection between Israelis and Palestinians. They’ll tell you “If you support Palestine, it means that you want the country of Israel to be eradicated off the map!”
That simply isn’t true. I’m Palestinian myself, I’m from Silwad, in the West Bank, near Ramallah, and I can understand why you and others have the desire to defend your country (I’m assuming that you’re Israeli).
I don’t want Israel to cease to exist, I just want my people to be freed from oppression. I can promise you that more than 90% of Palestinians/Pro-Palestinians share the same sentiment. It’s too late for one side to try and kick the other side out, given how many people call that land their home today.
The point that I’m trying to get at is, there shouldn’t be anything wrong with loving your country while criticizing and/or hating its government for its actions. I feel like if more people would start to view it from that perspective, there wouldn’t be so much hate surrounding the topic. There could actually be peace for the both of us.
Now, if you or anybody else on either side isn’t able to come to that conclusion, I’m sorry, but, even debating would just be a waste of time.
