Galashiels: Living in Galashiels - Young People’s Views

Young people from a local secondary school talk about living in a small town where there is community spirit and neighbourliness, but more facilities and amenities are required especially for younger people.
The 12 short films on lived experiences across 12 locations were first made in 2020 as part the Housing to 2040 travelling exhibition. At each location and in each film a different aspect on housing and place was discussed in order to present the multifaceted aspects of housing, people’s lived experiences. The conversation in the films shows the interviewees reflecting on their passion and aspiration for their own community as well as highlighting some of the issues and challenges that are local to the place, and others that are shared across geography.
