It gets a little odd when you consider Carmen Electra was standing in for House himself.
So technically Carmen Electra played Dr. Gregory House…
Everybody lies😅
So... Dr. House's first cane was a golf club?
It's freaking hilarious.
still, not lupus.
Man I wish the show had more of these lecture type episodes it was so entertaining to watch House as a teacher to these students
and it' would factual, like most of the show was, or at least I've been told?
I wish all of these episodes starred Carmen Electra as the victim of the week to really show her acting range. She’s always game. She was in two movies with Adam West, you know!
@@MrBiggles53 Well, she's no meryl streep.
He was forced to teach the students. The teacher was out sick. He noticed that the teacher's children had poisoned him by melting crayons 🖍 into his coffee cup that he left at work. 😂
Bring it back, I wanna know what wrong with my leg.
"Why isn't she wearing pants?" The look is priceless, and TV shows so rarely use subtly, but they used it perfectly here.
Honestly, they could do a spin-off show with House lecturing medical students, and it would be just as entertaining XD
How many of them would have Daddy Issues?
These days, it would be very PC.
@@psychedelicfright85 The entire 2000s would be cancelled. People had a great time and that had to be stopped.
They would also help a lot of people in Med School stay awake.
I heard PornHub had similar shows available 😆🤟
Emmy winning episode. How to tell a simmering back story without letting the audience know they are seeing a back story. The story structure, particularly in the first two acts, was the best I have seen on network TV. Seeing the secondary characters fill the back of the room and complete the unveiling of the twist, perfect.
It's also quite obvious now after it was revealed it was House when you notice the similarities in their clothes.
"She's here to play to my fantasy, not because she's Meryl Streep!" - Hugh Laurie insults Carmen Electra's acting ability right to her face!
Carmen is likely cool with that.😅
Come on, we all know she gets hired as bodacious buxom bubbleheaded eye candy, not cos her acting prowess. That is precisely her thing. Nobody would ever ask Johnny Sins to ....act either. And let's face it, she makes good money playing the ditzy chick. She and Pam were the only ones who took the roles they got in Baywatch and ran with it, knowing it would typecast them.
And for the record: Meryl Streep can't act either. only her ineptitude is on a higher level.
Carmen was perfect in meet the Spartans 😂
Not after he said "The Baywatch Thespian"
You understand what a script is?
Even after all this time it's still hard to believe this guy is not American. His accent is perfect. Magnificent actor.
Hugh Laurie.
House was surprisingly…sociable with these students.
you can look at it as
Teacher and students mode vs Boss and colleagues mode
very Socratic.
@@willie417 Makes sense to me. These are medical students with no experience yet. They're still learning, so he's more patient with them. He's being just harsh enough to prep them for the reality of treating patients, but gentle enough that they won't reject his teachings.
His colleagues are trained professionals who should already have these lessons down. They got hired to cure patients who have rare and difficult to diagnose illnesses. He can't afford to sit around and play nice with them, because lives are on the line and they need to act fast and decisively. Something they should be used to, unlike medical students
house tpyically only turns into a jerk when people try to outsmart him or are dishonest with him. These students genuinely respect him and are also in a psotition of severe inferiority compared to him and he knows that so he doesn't need to turn on his jerk side here.
The farmer sitting there with grass in his mouth was so funny
Especially when he used the word 'radiating' as if it was simple downhome farmer talk.
the golfing female with a straw hat and 'straw' in her mouth.....I would not call that grass!! I lived on a farm from birth to 16....farmers only use straw in such a Hollywood setting.
@@forestlittke4649 prob true. Like vikings wearing horns
The Baywatch thespian
She’s no Meryl Streep. She just looks good with her pants off.
This episode was absolute genius. The ability to see through and shape-shift the identity and personality of a patient to get to the marrow of the medical reality... absolutely shining moment in the history of medicine and drama.
It gives you a glimpse of why House doesn't care about things that everybody cares about (emotions, identities, illusions), and why he says that everybody lies. It gives you a glimpse into the weird and unstable nature of genius itself -- the ability to focus your mind's eye and scan the universe for things that everybody who is normal... will miss.
AND, Carmen !
"To get to the MARROW". Nicely done.
*absolutely
Poets do that. Human nature does 5gat.
idk bro its house MD its not the most realistic show ever created
Every episode of this show had humor to lighten the mood, no matter how sad it may have been. House was a doctor character that I wish existed in real life.
Oh Doctors have a sense of humor. Doctors, nurses, anyone who works first hand with patients. A sense of humor is required to keep one's sanity in the literally life or death situations they face on a routine basis. Medical professionals can find humor in almost any situation. Dark humor like you've not known.
And lupus. No it can't be lupus.
@@DonDigidon-gd3wi Cellulitis?
The early seasons were so interesting and dramatic while still maintaining a light feel. Amazing. Then it kept getting darker and darker dealing with House's addiction and mental illness. No matter how many times I get dragged back to season 1 because it's so good I can never finish to the end.
First two seasons are genius. Only.
Same here
love how cameron straight knows the 3 generations back story of a patient lmao
She doesn't know it - she has it ask for it. That's the point.
@@tatonka411 it still is funny she ask so far back
Sometimes the backstory on certain ailments is useless. If everyone lived to over 100 -- they all had SOMETHING.
@@mpjstuffonly the hereditary ones matter and you can leave out the geriatric ones
He was SO GOOD as House. The script was great sure, but this guy knew how to act.
Ya gotta love Hugh, He created a character I miss, It did get dark, But in the end THERE WAS NO MORE NOBLE THING THEN TO “die” for your friend
The people who made this episode (and the whole show) are absolutely genius. I love the levels of abstraction and the way it's filmed.
I like the fact that he mentions having to treat things that you find even though they are inconsequential and harmless.
This was such a good episode. It really gave you a lot of insight into what House had been through.
Loved every second of House! By far the best Hospital series ever!
identifying the exact snake doesn't matter. Wild poisonous snakes in the US are either one of the coral snakes (which is very unlikely to cause a painful bite if it would even get through the farmer's overalls and boots) or a crotalid (copperhead, water moccasin, or rattlesnake) in which case there is a broad-species antivenom available, regardless of species.
SPOILER (for a decades old episode)...
House did use the most common anti-venom to treat it and it didn't work, because it wasn't a snake bite at all, it was his (rabid, I think?) dog that bit him. But ("Everyone lies!") the farmer didn't want his own dog put down, so he lied about it.
@@johnpotts8308 They definitely lie. They lie frequently although usually it's them just trying to associate what they THINK is responsible.
@@johnpotts8308 how could he not tell between a snake bite or a dog bite?
@@ralphinator2 The farmer knew it wasn't a snake, but also knew if he admitted it was his dog it would be put down. We actually see the dog being hyper aggressive earlier in the episode (when Chase & Foreman arrive at the farm), giving a clue to the solution.
@@johnpotts8308No… not rabid. Staphylococcus bacteria.
I will not create a spoiler alert situation. I will just state that while all the episodes of House M.D. are great, as a healthcare professional, I think this particular episode is the best one of all of them.
This show is still the storytelling masterpiece.
This production, writing, music, acting.... is just .... amazing!!
We need humor, people-enjoy the episode!
This and the 2 part episode with amber and the whole bus situation. Revolutionary and iconic for tv.
I’d managed to put that heartbreak out of my mind. Thanks for the reminder.
@@johndaily263 you’re more than welcome 🤗
@@johndaily263 Oh, yes. I still remember the Amber/bus storyline...
Nah. Anything past season 2 was soap opera garbage.
@@tatonka411 Watch “Frozen” from Season 4 and tell us it was soap opera garbage.
I so NEED to see the rest of that episode NOW!
The length of straw clenched in the farmer’s teeth killed me!
and he died!!
the writing and acting is superb
Honestly, they should make a House movie. This is cinematic genius.
This honestly is one of _the BEST_ shows, ever!
Love the music, the acting, the cinematography, the lighting, the sets, the props, the chemistry, the cgi..... it's all sooooo good!
I love Hugh Lori, as well. He's incredibly handsome, and he's musical! Man this man can sing!!!
It's spelled "Lorry" (he's English).
@@danguee1 He spells it "Laurie". There are other spellings, used by other families, but nobody spells it "Lorry", in UK English that means "truck".
I would make sure to schedule a follow up appointment with Carmen. 😍
This is one of my all-time favorite episodes
I had forgotten how gorgeous Carmen Electra was.
Dang, now I wanna go watch the episode again
Imagine of David Hasselhoff was the special guest star on House MD they would have had a field day with him
*if
The Baywatch thespian.
there will be arguments but imho this is the greatest episode of house - you owe it to yourself to watch the whole thing
I dunno! Dr. Cuddy in a schoolgirl outfit on a stripper pole is kinda hard to beat!
@@prollins6443 That's a great scene, no doubt. This episode is one of the best in the series though. Someone needs to create a short of that scene though......
What a clever , interesting, fun show this was.
I noticed an issue with the title of the video. It says baywatch chick, dont you mean baywatch thespian?
No. Chick is fine
One of those😅
You’re creating an issue where there isn’t one. Go away.
@@ryanslack2666 dude whats your problem i was kidding
She’s not a thespian, she likes men……
One of the best episodes ever, because Carmen Electra...
I love how House casted himself as the well-adjusted doctor.
This episode was House's origin story about his leg.
S1E21: Three stories.
After this reminder, I am watched this episode again.
The episode was show magical, that we didn't realized that an nearly empty lecture hall at the beginning was slowly overpacked by the end of the episode.
I remember I did. 😅
You are watched or you watched?
@@UnForeseenandunfortunate Good Observation.
Just noticed House and Golfer are wearing same exact clothing as soon as it switched from Carmen Electra
I saw Carmen Electra at a music store years ago. She was even more beautiful in person.
Ive seen more beauty on PH
She’s a skank!!!🤮
Any problems with her leg? 😂
@@pcphoenix123u nailed it
Wonderful episode
one of the best episodes ❤
I absolutely love this episode
This was the best episode of the series.
Love house he has a classic moments of finding out that problem with people 😭😭😔😭😔😔❤❤❤❤
Easily one of the best plot narratives in the show, if not the best.
House thoroughly enjoyed the appointment with Carmen Electra!
CE: "It hurts really, really bad."
H: "🥰Yeah🥰"
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
The best episode of the show for me.
Professor House clips are some of my favorites
One of the best, if not THE best episode…we find out what actually happened to House’s leg…and it’s gut-wrenching.
This was such a great episode. Hilarious, enlightening, and saddening all at once. This is where we learn how House got his bum leg.
This is a great episode to start with, but as it dawns House is talking about himself it becomes brilliant.
can i put my pants back on now?
"i'd rather you didn't" XD
IMO, absolute best episode of the series.
in the words of house, "THE Baywatch thespian"
Carmen Electra back in the day. Good lord.
top 5 episodes ever, in every series
The last guy who just grabs the syringe and jabs himself 🤣
Ok so now we really need part 2
Guy just injected himself lol "feel lot better now"....🤘
Carmen Electra was damned funny in this, and a good sport besides.
A video editing tour de force, but somehow envisioned by the Director ahead of time. Kudos.
Things you notice only the second time: the patient who is secretely House is dressed like House.
i used to see Carmen in redondo beach when they were filming baywatch. she was actually very freindly
I had the pleasure of running into Jessica Alba, who, I must confess, was extremely friendly as well
Anytime Carmen Electra needs treatment... I'll gladly and happily volunteer...
One of my fav episodes
This show is just pure genius.
One of the very best programs =ever= to grace the miserable television set.
I had Carmen Electra's Bay watch poster in my locker during my army duty
1:31 I got a miniturized statue of that
"Carmen's quite the golfer" 😂
She's always had the qualities needed to achieve a hole in one every time 😍😂
Out of context thumbnails, amazing
I love how he called Chase out, "You're ok with that, right? You're not going to put a pillow over his face ..."
House was a Genius show.
My Mother loved this show.❤
Every time I see Carmen I just remember her being tickled to death by Howard Stern. Kind of undignified to have your career reduced to being summed up by three or four minutes of hysterical laughter.
Ahh Stern... the good ol days of raunchy cable TV 😅😅
2:09 That's the most stereotypical farmer I have ever seen..... ever.
I think you mean, Baywatch Thespian.
Watching from Abingdon Va
My favorite episode.
This episode!!! Learning the back story of his limp and Vicodin addiction in an epic way.
Oh for goddsakes. The word epic doesn't mean anything you want it to mean.
3:31 any of you 'older' folks have "Quincy" vibes from this too?
Thats a astrophysicist for you...
Nice one
They wouldn’t need to know what type of snake bit them if it’s just a random farmer in the US. Crofab and Anavip treat all North American snakebites.
I don't care how they got Carmen Electra to do this episode...
I'm just glad they did.
😍😍😍
Carmen Electra
Three legs, one of the saddest stories
I see Carmen Electra, I click.
To think he was in Blackadder! Genius!
Fatally allergic to demerol and this ending terrified me LOL
"Apparently he's not allergic"
My favorite part of this is that House was the one who actually stabbed himself with Demerol. Could 100% see it it haha
Crazy how Cumberbatch's Dr. Strange sounds just like House.
Crush on Carmen Electra for the past 24 years
