Between This, the Fanatec $350 DD base (+ extra wheel), and a SHH shifter, we might finally have a complete high quality, Direct Drive Setup for ~US$1,000. Which is insane! Just a few years ago, you couldn't get a DD base for under $1,000, let alone a full racing setup!

Does a CSL DD without the boost kit count as a high end/quality wheel base?? I think you're better off choosing a Simagic Alpha Mini and their GT1-R wheel for $949USD + the $136USD from the SHH NEWT for $1085USD. But you get a way better rim than the cheap fanatec ones and a better wheel base with 10nm and no shitty fanatec customer service. Now this would be a good set up, it's the one I'm currently rocking at the moment and it's amazing. Looks way better than a CSL DD and better quality if you ask me.

I have compared a few pedal sets of the same price range/features (KRE, Kapral, Fanatec), and these are by far the most customizable and do look like they're built like a tank. The moment I saw the message on the back of the PCB (Senna) it clicked, since their strive for perfection is obvious, especially considering it's their first ever pedal set. To get it this well the first time around is something amazingly rare in any industry and it really shows they've done their homework. Ferrite cores on the USB cable, grounding for the PCB.. good mindset right there. The only thing I'd add is some washers behind those socket head screws/nuts.

They would have always been affordable. Heusinkveld and fanatec simply took advantage of being first in the field. There weren't enough customers for other companies to arise, but thanks to Covid, the sim racer population more than doubled in a year. This is the reason why suddenly there is a broad market, and now companies like Fanatec and HE can't take advantage of their position anymore. We always have to keep in Mind that Sprints costs about the double of the price. The Sprints have a better cable Management. I personally like a clean setup. These two boards with big RJ45 Connectors put me off tbh. This was solved much better from Heusinkveld. Also the LC is a litte bit stiffer at the Sprint-Pedals. But not much.
Over all I would again go for the Sprints for these Reasons:
-Support and Quality is save with Heusinkveld. Also they are very experienced.
      -Cable Management
-Gas Pedal is smoother and is easy to adjust

One thing I do like about the Heusi's is the config software where you can adjust the response curve for every pedal and save custom profiles.
I dont want to completely hate on the simforge pedals, they are good for the price. I was just a bit disappointed at the lack of quality control on the circuit boards. At this price point though I would argue something like a fanatec clubsport v3 would be a better buy. Nice pedals but just checked the shipping. They want $130 US, and that’s if you don’t want the base...shipping with the base would be over half the cost of the pedals 🤔
So it appears, they’re inflating the shipping to subsidize the lower pedal price.
Those pedals at $333 US with shipping and taxes will be over $700 cnd.

Unless they are using some odd package sizing that would cause it to be oversized or over standard dimensions, it seems like the shipping should really be cheaper here.

      @gregvandy8902 Před 3 lety +1

Yes way better than v3s. I haven't used these but its real clear, theyre a big step above v3s. V3s are old now, the csl elite has a better brake and is a newer set. Just my opinion having both sets, and its not the popular opinion, but csl elites are far better. You can space the csl pedals better, they have a better heel plate, the brake is way better, side by side they even look like the more professional pedal, theyre just better. Thats just me tho, but I cant understand anyone thinking the v3s are better. Its generally accepted that the most important pedal(the brake) is much better on csl elites. The hall sensors are better on v3s, they wont fail like the potentiometers on csl elites. However, there is now at least 2 people selling hall sensors that are direct drop ins for csl elites. I bought a set for $35. My friend got a set and they work perfectly and make no change to the pedals other than increasing reliability. Unfortunately these simforge pedals are $333 but its well over 500 with shipping the USA. I do think they're worth the price and possibly superior to huesinkveld sprints while costing a good bit less

I'd cancel the v3 order. If you've used any good pedals before you'll be disappointed with v3s. My opinion for what its worth but hey, i prefer csl elites by far over v3s. Mine have some mods, about to get the new hall sensors which are a direct swap. I haven't used these simforge pedals but I can tell they'll be far better than v3s. The lack of adjustability in the v3s and the comfort factor alone just kills the v3s for me. The brake is the most important part and csl elites have a better brake while being more solid and more comfortable to use but comfort is subjective, just my preference. I sold my V3s, i used em for a couple months, tried everything. Hooked the csl's back up, feels like an upgrade.

It’s a tough decision to be sure. I’ve recently bought the v3 pedals to replace my 16 year old FrexGP pedals (all pots) and v3 pedals come no where close to the Frex pedals so much so that I’ve bought a usb board, hall sensors and a load cell to “upgrade” the electronics of the Frex Pedals.
V3s have the damper kit, brake kit and I still feel they’re worse than the Frex with potentiometers.
Sim forge seems to be heavily influenced by Frex design. Especially the clutch is almost a 1:1 copy of Frex’s clutch, which the best “clutch plate” feel I’ve ever had, short of using an actual clutch plate.
I’m not sure I like the load cell they used and how they attached it to the pedal. Its range of movement per applied force is almost perpendicular to the direction of force you apply with your foot, so I’m not sure how much linearity (in applied force) one loses.
I am vey intrigued by the design and tempted with the price, but once shipping is included, it cools me down quite a bit.
This is all my speculation coupled with my experience from using Frex and Fanatec CS v3 pedals so take it with the grain of salt it is warranted.
