Albert's speech at the end always sends chills down my spine.
Poor guy just wanted to do something that mattered, that did good, and made him feel like he was here....anyone can relate.
It honestly is criminal that Albert could have made the greatest scientific advancement in history but had to ultimately destroy hus invention due to humanity's greed and lust for power.

@theotherohlourdespadua1131 the atomic bomb was made for war. This man just created a way to travel. It would be like if Carl Benz was told "they would just create guns that travel on wheels" upon patenting his design for the first car.
These kind of sad stories (How to slay a dragon) depict very well how primitive we are. Always fearing of others. Hurting before the other hurts us. Maybe, someday we will trust in each other (hopefully without an alien bettle in our brains)
Sadly it’s never going to happen unless you remove what makes us human. It’s normal and natural to distrust others especially knowing what people are capable of, it’s good to believe in humanity’s good nature, but it’s naive to believe that bad intentions aren’t part of humanity as well.

I really appreciate the fact that the creator of this article didn't use it to go into some misanthropic rant about how foolish he thinks humans are or anything. Aside from whoever launched the missile at the Tachyon Express with no warning, anyone here could be in the right or wrong depending on your point of view.
According to the story, it's implied that either the Chaos Insurgency itself or someone associated with it was the one who shot the missile. Which begs the question, what was their motivation?

Just leaving a like for this. Must say, Albert's experiences bring into mind how characters and also the audience of the Universal Century Gundam continuity feel about the authority and benevolence of the Earth Federation.
I love the original Gundam storyline. The Principality of Zeon was most interesting for me. Good guys during the first half of the story, then they decided to drop a colony on the feddie hq which went tits up and ended up destroying half the planet's ecosystem. They lost the war at that point, as whatever sympathy they had with earthers and neutral colonists was lost. No matter how bad the feddies were, they never slaughtered a colony and tried to weaponize it's dead husk.

Unauthorized flight with wild maneuvers, the sad correspondence between ground control and the pilot, and the tragic end of the pilot. Absolutely bizarre that you were unaware of this when writing. Still a very good SCP, thank you for its creation.

You could do a sequal where Albert thinking he is going to die from the energy of the sun it actually accelerates him and he goes beyond light beyond our dimension higher and higher faster and faster farther and farther. Just my own lil head cannon. He could even accidentally turn into an SCP that could travel faster than light

I know this has nothing to do with this SCP, but I SWEAR to god you uploaded a video about the anti-memetics division once, but I can't seem to find it now, I even remember the miniature being some sort of black void with some shapes and lines of light or smth, I expect it to be some crazy meta joke you made by putting the video in private because it has to do with anti memes, but man I asked some other people and they don't remember it. Or maybe I'm just dumb and the video had a different title and I can't remember it...
