  • It's a Goldtop day, 1958 to be specific - this is a top notch 'dark back' guitar with a fantastic pair of double-black PAF pickups, and its lightweight as well at 8lbs 4oz! The body has expected wear for it's age, and has a great worn in feel without any real issues. The tuners had been replaced at one point but the originals are back on and work great. Today we've got Aaron Hiebert taking the steering wheel with the excellent 1996 Matchless Chieftain amp we've been featuring this week!

That "burst" has it's own unique tone going on. But well within the flavor of the period. Great player, guitar and amp. It is so amazing to see these iconic instruments played by someone with so much talent. It really shows off just how special these old gems were and are and why they command the big buck.

Great vid. I've been viewing these since the 'lock down' and seen many guitars I dug.
