- 2019 Mercane Wide Wheel electric scooter rear disc brake caliper replacement and/or upgrade. This 1000w dual motor e-scooter came with a mechanical disc brake caliper that doesn't work properly and has been recalled. Now, because I saved a grip and didn't buy it from Fluid Freeride, they wouldn't give me the time of day even though they're listed as the point of contact for the recall. I love their videos and they provide great information, but rather than ride and die, I chose to swap the faulty caliper with a Viper blue Zoom Xtech HB 100. It's a tight fit, but if installed properly, it has enough clearance. I'm glad to see the mercane widewheel PRO 2020 has front and rear brakes, but already has a throttle upgrade. I love my scooter, it's the best, so ride safe, stop safely and ROCK ON!! I will post a review and comparison later.

I was looking to buy this scooter but i have some concern with the turning. Ive heard some negative reviews about it but how is it with your experience? Any help is appreciated. Also im a heavy guy @240lbs. Is this an issue? Ty sir!
I started with 8" narrow tire electric scooter. I was able to adjust to the shorter wider tire widewheel very quickly. You have to lean into your turns at higher speeds, but about the same going slow navigating around light poles, bus stops etc. As far as the weight, the older models had reports of a a weak neck . The new mercane widewheel pro 2020 has a new, improved and stronger neck. I'm 215 and no problems, but would like to replace with stronger neck just for peace of mind
Whats the maintenence of these Zoom Xtech compared to the standard disc brakes that comes on from the factory ?
Maintenance is less frequent due to larger pads. I also find it to be easier. Loosen 2 top bolts, pull lever to center on disc, tighten bolts and go. Adjust cable if necessary. Brake pads, like cars, need to be replaced based on your braking habits and rider weight.

No you can not. I have the Pro and both breaks are different.

Amazon Zoom xtech hb-100, make sure you order front, the bracket fits the rear of widewheel. Order PRIME or it takes forever, ships from china

This particular brake caliper won't work on the front because of the direction of the cable mount. They don't make a reverse direction caliper that I'm aware of.
Did you just use the complete front caliber whit mount?? Or the rear caliper whit front mount?

you could slow down, but took long distance to stop. Panic stop didn't happen
