- Unboxing and overview of the Bontrager Ion 200 RT and Flare RT front and rear bike lights. These daytime run lights are not the cheapest out there but do you get what you pay for?
I think these lights are overpriced for what they are. Still, they work tremendously well with incredible daytime visibility, a tiny form factor, a solid feature set, and great battery life. You can buy a flashing LED light for a tenth of this price but don't expect the same performance.

Worth the money on keeping my 5yo safer on his bike at daylight. Back and frontlight installed. Superb visibility.
Couldn’t agree more. Any extra visibility is worth it when your children are involved and these are surprisingly bright in sunlight!
@@tdcattech definitely. Some people argue about the price but I am pretty sure that these lights can save lives
I have the flare RT but wanna grab the ion for the front now that the dark mornings and nights are over. I have the cat volt 800 but the ion will pair great with that in the winter as well. Solid review by the way, people often never actually show the different light modes
Great overview, I might pull the trigger on these guys, they look bright enough and they are nice and compact, I also remember watching your old DVX200 camcorder videos many years ago too lol
I use them almost everyday and love them. They are genuinely better than many cheaper lights. So bright at distance, even in the day!

These lights are worth the money for people who will use them often, and in all types of weather. They tick all the boxes that the competitors do, but the competitors always lack something for the sake of cost, whereas this doesn't really make any compromises, so it commands a high price.

What would be a cheaper alternative? No need for Bluetooth, just USB charging, compact build and bright, medium, dim modes?
I’m honestly no expert in this. There are loads of bike lights for incredibly cheap prices on Amazon. I can honestly say that I have never seen one to match these. The focus makes them visible from incredible distances. You can easily spot someone from 500m away on a bright sunny day.
@@tdcattech thank yoi for answer. Regarding night light is there any difference with regular bike night light? Are there any downsides? Is this one strictly for day?
@@vrod2144 This light is design to signal to others your position on the road, not to light up the way ahead of you.
How to turn off the light sensor?
with the lamp OFF, press ON button for 8 seconds until it blinks once. release ON button.
The AAA Bontrager lights are more durable. USB version hit or miss.

The ion 200 box has both ant+ and bt symbols on it.
