    He shoulda compared a 390xp to that saw....I'm a Faller Logger and used the German saws for years, till they out priced themselves and their quality went to crap....On the mountain all we care about is it is powerful, not too heavy, and will start and run Everytime you pull the rope. One day my magnum quit on me yet again and I had to hike all the way down to the landing to grab my back up but while there one of the other guys on the crew was just coming from another block of timber to cut a new landing for the road crew and he said hey grab my old 390 and put your bar and chain on it and run it.....see how you like it.....well that's all it took to convert me, I've carried nothing but Husqvarna to the timber ever since and one has never failed me period.....ever.....except for the usual broken started ropes, wore out sprockets, etc. But nothing ever engine or fuel related...
    Yeah we have our saws gone through and ported and turned into hot saws and different things for the type timber we're cutting but we did that with the Stihls too. I've run my current 390 with a 20" bar up to a 36" bar which is what's on it mostly and we run standard 3/8" 0.50 skip tooth full chisel chain and I wouldn't switch back based on what we've seen lately for nutthin. I wanna fall timber....not deal with a saw that keeps spending more time in the repair shop than being used....
    This is why I use Husqvarna Saws.

      Completely agree 390 is a saw that can be run all day and will do almost everything, I love mine to the point that now they no longer make them I have a spare fuel tank/ lower handle and spare pot and piston , so I can keep mine going.
      660 and 395 for me are bulky and awkward, ok for rining up but not great felling saws in the way the 390 is.
      Mine sings with a 28" bar and pulls and pulls.
      I'm not even remotely tempted by the new 592 auto tune.

    I own the 395xp and my buddy owns the 660. we both run 32" bars and still brand full skip chains. side by side, the way Stihl is set up gives a little more reach with the bar. Both are phenomenal saws and perform almost exactly the same!
    We've had some fun running them side by side hehe

    This is how to do a comparison video imo. Great job I think the only thing you missed was weights. I use both at work on a regular basis 42" bars. I think it really just comes down to personal preference. Both great saws I use 660 when I'm climbing cuz it feels a Lil more compact but tend to grab the 395 when felling big trees from the ground.

    I run all Husqvarna saws, including a 372xp and a 395xp. Never have had any issues with the top cover screws at all. When I open the top covers for cleaning they are always nice and snug just as they were when I reassembled during the previous cleaning.
    What have you had happen, they just loosen and fall out?

      I beg to differ,every Husqvarna that I work on comes in with the air filters plugged to the max,Stihls are much less dirty when they come in. The best air filter system I've ever seen is on the Echo saws,they never seem to need cleaning.

    Does your husky 395xp use a lot bar oil? Mine has a 24” bar and slings oil like crazy on the lowest setting.

    • @joseamezola4345
      @joseamezola4345  Před 5 lety +2

      Yes it oils alot. Due to the fact most people are running longer bars than 24in. I think mine is set in the middle and it oils my 42in bar perfectly fine. That would explain yours slinging alot of oil, better alot then not enough. Thank you for watching!👍🏼

      I appreciate you replying so quickly. I had 1 more question. When you are done running your 395xp and you let it sit will it leave a little bar oil on the ground? The reason I ask is because my stihl 441c does not.

    Both saws are great, all the tree guys I work with and know prefer husky saws. Their climbers are trash though, definitely stihl for being up in the tree. But, definitely husky for the ground in my opinion.

  • @xyq384
    @xyq384 Před 4 lety +1

    395xp is heavier but has better engine, more zappy on the gas and more pullthrough and also -for me- better sound.
    like nearly all huskis from those times compared to the stihls back then.
    stihl were not very quick on gas in comparison and seem to be a bit lame.
    I prefer every 346, 372, 390...over the stihls back then.
    today with electric carburators i think they are pretty equal.

    I lost countless screws from the starter cover on my 372xp which led to me pulling the stupid plastic starter cover off. That's a major design flaw. They are not made for industrial applications in my humble opinion.

    • @joseamezola4345

      @stevendausel643 Před 5 lety +1

      I bought a ms660 and haven't had any problems with screws walking loose or starter covers breaking because they are made of plastic. I have ran both and honestly wouldn't buy another husky because of all the problems I had with mine and my brother had with his. I don't believe they are are built for industrial applications whereas the Stihl is.

      @lawnmowermanlawnmowerman9930 Před 5 lety +1

      Yeah,a lot of Husqvarna saws come into my shop missing screws,they must just vibrate so much that they loosen the screws and lose them.

    • @lelandgregory5897
      @lelandgregory5897 Před 4 lety

      Ot would seem that the comfortable layout of the Husquvarna compared to Stihls handle set up must be the difference in our hands taking that vibration or the screws taking the vibrations as far as the loose feeling from the springs on the Husky just my personal observations.

    • @dennisthemenace57
      @dennisthemenace57 Před 3 lety +2

      I own the big 3 of both brands (and plenty of smaller size) and handle a lot of other peoples saws and yes you do see a lot of screws missing from Husqvarna cylinder covers and especially recoil covers but really if this sort of maintenance is beyond you should you be running such a large and dangerous saw like a 395?
      A drop of Loctite 242 and problem solved

I work on too darn many of them compared to Stihl.I just tell my customers that Husqvarna saws are designed to fail.Stihl saws are designed to last.
