    The Husky 395xp for the win. The 395xp doesn't have a computer, a USB port, and doesn't need a laptop computer to diagnose any problems. The 395 is a simple, bulletproof saw that will last and last and that anyone can rebuild the entire saw with just a couple of wrenches.

    • @aussiehardwood6196
      @aussiehardwood6196 Před 4 měsíci +1

      Correct. The operator held back both saws because his technique of keeping either saw under load was poor. He should have kept the bar horizontal right through the cut applying enough pressure for optimal speed. I bet I could drop cut times down by 2+ seconds easily.

  • @subblegum

    I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle czcams.com/users/postUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.

  • @karlansell7885
    @karlansell7885 Před 2 lety +9

    You can't use any of that as a fair comparison. Rocking back and forth is taking chain out of the cut.
    Do it again and just cut straight through. No rocking on the dogs.

    592 is rated at 7.6 hp @7,800 rpm. 395 is rated at 6.6 hp @ 6,000 rpm. One thing to note is that the stock clutch on a 592 is tuned to engage higher in the torque band 4,300 rpm for the 592 and 3,400 rpm for the 395. If you were to swap the clutch on a 395 you would not notice any difference between the 2 saws while cutting. This is why, 395 Max Torque is 5.9 Nm and 592 Max Torque is 5.87 Nm.

      In the US the 592 is roughly $1,400.00 depending on the chain you get. I have both the 592XP and 395XP. They are both fantastic. If you get 395, put on a 32 inch X-Tough “Lite” bar on it. The balance point will be absolutely insane and it will feel like a lighter saw. If you get the 592XP, consider the 28” X-Tough “Lite” bar. You won’t believe the balance and the feel. The 592 is fatster, more torque and lighter. Less gas’s too. The 395 is a big powerful old school engine. The 592 does self adjust, is better and lighter and will fatigue you less all day. They are both fantastic.

    There isn't a load of difference. Similar to seeing the 572 run, they seem to scream under light load but want to cut out (sounding) once you lean on it some. I would like give my opinion on the Husqvarna 592 xp that I have been using last month.
    It’s lighter and a little bit smoother than my faithful and most reliable 395 xp I’m lucky to own 2 of them the best 94cc saws ever made.
    What I found with 592 it’s faster cutting saw with 28 inch bar when I switch over to a 36 inch bar different story the 395 xp seems to handle it better
    another disappointment about the 592 xp is the air filter base seal doesn’t seal up as well small bits saw dust getting through into the carburettor not happy about that.
    The 395 xp is the best air filter set up I have ever seen completely sealed.
    I hope Husqvarna will address this problem with 592 maybe they could improve the seal on filter apart from that it seems to cut well with 28 inch light weight bar.

    The first dog cut on the 592 was 19:12. Then when both dog cuts are shown on the screen together for the head to head comparison it shows the 592 squeaking by with 18:12 with the 395 at 19 flat. How did the 592 lose 1 full second? Seems like to me you all are trying to put the edge to the new equipment. Clearly the 395 took the straight cut and the dog cut.

    You guys should know that a new, out-of-the-box chain can easily stand improvement from careful, guided (think Granberg's guide) filing- patently obvious to me anyhow. When you're tensioning a chain, IMO it's easiest to attach the pieces loosely, then set the bar nose on wood and lift the rear handle (not touching the oily bar/chain). Adjust the chain, tighten the bar nuts.

    Bottom line... 90c class saws are animals. All of them. 26" ash log and these saws act like it's limb wood to the typical firewood saw. They aren't fun to run all day, but boy are they fun to run for short spells! I challenge anyone to not smile while running one of these in big wood for short spells. Got a 394xp myself. My buddy has a 661.
    Self feeding, the 592 revs higher. But Husqvarna themselves rates both saws at having the same amount of torque. I can't help but feel like the 592s constant rev limiter bashing when not loaded heavy will effect longevity. Time will tell.
