I bought two and I have put hundreds of rounds through them both and have had no problems.
In some ways theyre ahead of the competition. Taurus G Series guns can be had in a wide range of Color Combinations. OD Green, Tan, Brown, FDE, Coyote, Grey, Cayan, and Black with multiple slide colors. No other manufacturer gives you affordable, reliable pistols in as many Color Options.

I was just thinking the same thing! I used to have a pt-22 absolutely terrible! But that gun looks very high quality.
The Stainless Steel Chassis System IS the reason the GX4 is less Snappy than any other Micro 9... It absorbs most of the kinetic energy into the center mass of the Chassis so the muzzle doesnt try to flip. This alone gives the GX4 an edge over all the other Micro 9s that cost far more than it. Added Value.
Lakeline makes a ported barrel. I'm sure it's subjective but have a feeling it will make it seem much flatter than it already is.
That little keychain is actually a little take-down tool. On the mag end of that keychain is a flathead driver that you can use to turn the take down pin

Finally a micro 9 that is not focused on extracting money out of my pocket while minimizing muzzle flip and recoil. This is good entry into seeing if a micro nine will work for you. I don’t own any Taurus firearms, but this will be a game changer.
I have been super impressed with the Taurus line of 9mm compacts and the price and reliability is great and they are warranted for life.
I just bought this pistol. 350$ and def worth the buy. Shooting was awesome. Smooth and the grip is perfect for me. Good job Taurus!!!!!

@@JaguarDieCast That's unfortunate. That's why I hate when companies do this. It's like "you know that we want everything. Optics ready, striker fired, small and high cap.". So they released that 3/4 and then there's the better version. But Taurus has been on that train lately.
@Joshallen17 lol. What's funny is that my buds are always like "bro you come out (every) on weekends. I'm like yeah because that $40 I'd spend on partying could be saved for ammo and guns. That's money saved for an expensive hobby/need. Then they want a gun and are like "bro idk what to get". Well come to your friend who has a rental station. Then they find out they can't afford the better version because of that $40 they spent on night of drinking. Now you get to look like the person who bought instantly 😂
Taurus stepping up their game. I bought the G2c sometime last year. It blows me how people still talk shit about a Taurus. Just going off he say she say, never even owned a Taurus but yet they talk sh*t about it. I have glocks also so it’s not about me being cheap. Taurus just made a good gun with the G2c. It never failed on me yet so the crap ppl tell me goes in one ear and comes out the other.
Just bought mine at Academy Sports for $306 and a 13 round mag for $20.00. Its one of the few small frame guns that the slide release works and they have shortened the trigger pull from the G2 and G3
I bought a GX4 a few months ago and I have to admit, I felt like kicking myself when this came out. After thinking about it, I remembered why I got the GX4 in the first place. I wanted a very minimalist gun that I can wear anywhere with anything. The non-TORO GX4 is that. I have a Glock 43x MOS and a Canik TP9 Elite SC, both with optics. I'm glad that I have what I have.
I see you have good taste. I have the dames one you do just add a Shield Plus to the group. Enjoy them all but I got the Tarus like you to have a bare bones easy to carry firearm. I added the Ameriglo night sight to the front and that was all it needed. Great little pistol !
Exactly! Minimalist. If your gonna edc then u want really a bare bones pistol. If a time comes that one ever has to use their edc weapon, it will be split second time point blank range.
Likewise. Started to wait for the inevitable TORO but after consideration, decided I wanted mine to be minimal as well.
Snagged the coyote slide model. Functions and looks great.
Plan to add night front sight and nothing else.
When in doubt, get both. 😃
The GX4 is so affordable that getting both the base and TORO models will not hurt the pocket book too much.
I agree. The whole point of this new micro compact class of firearms is to be as small and size efficient as possible. The instant you start adding optics, lights, and other stuff to it you basically throw that all out the window. I use mine for pocket carry. That would be rather difficult if it had an optic.
I bought a G2C for a truck gun and hated the trigger. I replaced that with the GX4 for the truck based on the good value in price. I got mine for $309.00. I am very impressed with the GX4. I'll still be POed if someone breaks in and steals my GX4, but less so than if they got my $500 + G43.
Now I can have a Taurus Toro to carry while I'm mowing the lawn with my Toro. 😂
Taurus also offers a pinky extension plate for the 11 rounds magazines and it's very comfortable and looks awesome

Really enjoy your reviews! I started watching your channel some 6 years ago when looking for a 9mm. I saw your review on the Taurus G2C and subsequently bought one. Still have it and have shot at least 900 rounds with it without a single hiccup. I also bought a Taurus Judge Defender in stainless. That’s another wonderfully made revolver, but I digress. This micro pistol with the optics shown looks like yet another win for Taurus. Thanks!

man, this is the gun i want. it is like they read my mind. they kept it simple small, and realiable.the trigger looks great. i am getting two.

Finally, Taurus has three handguns that I can actually recommend to customers! (G2,G3and G4)
I actually owned the Taurus titanium ultralite 38 Special snub nose revolver with no hammer for over 15 years and I loved that gun!!!!!! It's similar to this gun, its small and packs a lot of power. This one is definitely not bad for an automatic actually love it it reminds me of the 22 and the small 380. I'm a tiny person so it's nice to find guns small like this that I can use to still defend myself but yet properly hold and operate the same time. I love the Taurus Gun Company. I just recently bought me a smaller 9 mm Taurus. The craftsmanship on it is pretty damn good I must say.
@@Missmusicdiva the Taurus total titanium is one revolver I regret not buying, they go for double MSRP and hardly ever come up for sale.

They have many more than this, I own 7 Taurus handguns and I don’t regret buying any of them. I shoot a lot and they just run!

Thanks for the great review it helped me with my decision and I just got my gx4 I did want to point out though because no video on yt that I seen mentioned it but that keychain of the little gun it comes with is the disassembly tool also. This is a great little gun very accurate and will be my new edc
They are really are stepping up their game! I have a PT111 G2 and love it, the trigger has improved with the round count. Love my PT 111G 2.
I love mine too but I've added to it the G3C, GX4 and stainless 85 Ultralight revolver.

I'm telling u I own the gx4 and hellcat paid 300 for the gx4 and 639 for the hellcat both non optic ready models, I'm telling u the gods honest truth right out of the box side by side it's hard to tell them apart, but where it gets interesting is the trigger on the gx4 is like ten times better, and just the slide is tighter if they had opposite names I wouldn't be surprised I'm buying the gx4 in the optic modern not waisting my time on the hellcat lol

Yeah, I like my TX22 and GX4 as well. The price point was right, but after owning and shooting both through hundreds of rounds I believe they are not just budget guns. These firearms compete well against their competitors.

I think this is the best pistol Taurus ever made. They should make it in compact and full size too.
Ps: in the bottom of the keychain you have the screwdriver to disassemble it.
if its cheaper than most, I like it.
Save money now and use the difference on a range day. or some well made self defense ammo. or a holster or whatever you want.... its your money.

Almost every thing they have put out since the G2C has been pretty solid for me. They have made tremendous strides as far as quality. Nothing but good to say about where they are now.

I am impressed with the Toro from Taurus. And $468 with the optic choice raising the price. 11+1 and 13+1 magazine capacity. Memory pad is unique and the full stainless steel rails are grand.

I just purchased my first gun a few months back in the Taurus G2C and I’m in love with the newest Taurus line I think I’m going to modify my G2C for more range fun and I’m looking at the Gx4 for carry

I bought the standard GX4 and instead went with the Veridian E series laser specifically made for the GX4 ! Easy to install and sight in and turned my pistol to a deadly accurate carry gun out to 15 yards ! Shoots further and still effective ! The speed that the laser picks up the target sure helps this 65 year old shooter !
Is the standard cheaper and is the laser easier to CC than an optic?
@@oldowl4290the Veridian laser is great for a carry situation! Specifically made for the X4 it is a brilliant green laser easy to install and adjusts easily! On my Toro model I have a CT red dot and a TLR6 laser flashlight combo ! Again specifically for the GX4! I love them ! Both have over 1000 rounds through them with zero fails !

Great video review as always! My opinion though on any red dot optic for edc, they are in a league of their own at the range, but for edc I will stick to open sights.

I purchased the Taurus G3c 2 weeks ago I haven’t shot it yet but I did go ahead and clean the gun,read the manual, and get used to the gun feeling in my hands I personally don’t like optic sights on handguns I never did just feel like it makes the gun look bad but that’s just my opinion! Great video 👍

I have been really liking the Taurus brand lately too ..the TX22 is what attracted me to them it seems like the best 22 on the market to me... its also nice that one of the least expensive brands is also one of the best brands... their 9's are nice but I don't know about that Holosun it seems rather bulky in the wrong place for me... I would like to see a video covering the different options in sights and how they are best used why choose fiberoptic over steel and how do you aim with a red dot vs using fixed sights.. i think in a self defense application a red dot allows you to not view your target through your sights and depend on the dot on your target and watch your target and what is happening in front of you more than being fixed on your back sight if you know what I mean. anyway good review.. probably won't be buying one but I am sure it will be well liked by many.
I bought this gun based on your review. It is impressive, well made and comparable to all the best micro-compact 9MMs out there. @ about 1600 rounds my firing pin broke. I noticed the firing pin drag on the struck primers when I fired my first shots and knew that was common on micro-compacts as were firing pins breaking but it wasn't a huge concern. Firing pins are cheap right? Now, getting off the phone with Taurus and finding out they won't sell me a firing pin, I have to send them the gun and it cost a lot to ship it that's not covered by the warranty and it will take 4 to 8 weeks just to take the back plate off the slide and change the firing pin makes me realize I wasted my money buying this. I'm sticking with Glocks and Sigs.

Yes id put extended beaver tail backstrap on all glocks, really helps with recoil to get ur hand under that overlap

Taurus was not a reliable weapon 20 years ago but they make some good weapons now

Love the way the taurus gx4 trigger felt in my lgs it's on my list for edc isn't too expensive where it would hurt if you had to use it and it was in the police Evidence locker for 1-2 yrs
I was on the fence about getting the GX4, I already have the G3C Toro. Now I have to pull the trigger and get the GX4
Chassis comes out like the Nano and the guts have @ 8 or 9 total parts to it. It's great.
Don't care what the haters say my G2 is one of my favorite compacts.

Is it my imagination but this wee pistol has minimal muzzle flip compared to full size models. I wonder has the addition of the Holosun contributed to this. Either way Taurus have knocked it out of the park with this one.
