  • Pokemon, But I Can’t Learn New Moves… this was really interesting and intense…
One of the biggest highlights in a Pokemon game is learning strong moves. Finally getting to use moves like Surf or Flamethrower to destroy anything is always a great feeling. However, what if you were UNABLE to learn any new moves besides the four that you already have? Well, I decided to try beating Pokemon FireRed with no new moves… Can I beat it? Well, watch to find out.
This video is similar to videos such as "Pokemon, But I Can Only Use My First Six Encounters" and "Pokemon, But I Can't Evolve," or basically any Pokemon, But video.
Not a Pokemon Solo Run, or a Pokemon Scarlet and Violet playthrough, but a different type of Pokemon Challenge: Beating Pokemon FireRed but I can’t learn new moves. Inspired by Jrose11, Mah-Dry-Bread, and Smallant! Can You Beat Pokemon FireRed With No New Moves?

This is my first time watching any of your videos, and I must say I quite enjoyed it. Your videos are calming and straight to the point, contrary to the usual hyperactive and elongated videos others push out. So, I hope you keep up with these videos, and thank you for the enjoying video. :-)

yeah my voice is naturally just like this so I've been trying to add a bit more energy, but I'm glad you enjoyed!

I don't think the daycare is cheating, it's not like it's an instant level up with rare candies or something. You still have to walk around for awhile before getting to the level you want

I feel you on the confusion when misty confused you, I am pretty sure my average for hitting myself in confusion is 3.5/5 times. Also smart, I don't think I have ever saw people manipulate in game trades into their advantage. Great video mate.

My confusion luck is always bad conveniently when I need to hit for some reason. And yeah, the in-game trades definitely came in clutch. They were the only way I could get a decent moveset

I'm all in for letting Pokemon use new moves if they have empty moveslots (Move Deleter notwithstanding) if it makes for a more interesting run. Or just if it'd be more fun for you. :)

a bit late, but a thought about the mr. mime and the 'by far best psychic type moveset' comment: you could level abra to 19 and then evolve it to kadabra (and again to alakazam whenever) this leaves you with an alakazam with teleport (bad) psybeam, reflect and recover. maginally worse moveset but on a waaay better pokemon.

i think alakazam spams future sight because it sees it as a kill due to its high base power. the game is old so there probably wasn’t any programming for the AI to account for the delayed damage. He thinks he’s spamming a psychic version of hydro pump.

the pokemon equivalent of wishful thinking

Isn't future sight Alakzam only damaging move during rival 5

      @CruelFire99 Před 10 měsíci +1

You're thinking of modern day Future Sight; Gen 3 Future Sight only has 80 Power! It probably still saw the kill however, so it randomly selected between it and Psychic.

great idea! this rule set really allows the in game trades to shine. i must admit, after watching flygonHG for like 2 years seeing a pokémon faint and be back for the next battle in a challenge run was startling to me hahaa

I have to say I really enjoyed this. Not sure if changing, trading and manipulating the system the way you did is cheating or just cleverly working in the system but either way it was interesting. Be fun to see as HC Nuzlock :D

    Great video
MANDJTV did a similar video for Emerald I believe if ever watched it
The Abra trade for a suitable Mr. Mime moveset was smart
Will revisit with Hardcore Nuzlocke rules?
