Tytytytytyty soooo much for making this video and all the ones you have made to share this information with people in need of it. I am getting CLT and am making progress in my hand and arm. However, i have not received all the info you hav shared about the skin and how we need to be aware of anything going on. Also, being informed of the condition of my skin and what level i am. I was not told about the eventuality of getting lymphodema during or after radiation. So i didnt hav the awareness of early detection. So, i did not act quick enough at the first sign of
swelling of my arm and hand!
Neither was i informed pre cancer surgery or post cancer surgery. Education is severely lacking!! Thank you again !!!

It depends on where in the world you are, and the type of lymphedema she has, but you need to see a lymphedema nurse/specialist who will measure her legs for custom fitted garments if it's severe. If you're in the UK, see your GP, who will refer you on.

Once someone has lymphedema. Is it for ever or can you correct this problem?

I have been told that there is no cure, sadly.

I believe it depends on how it started, but it can go down in stages, for sure.

They claim no cure but I have heard of some people correcting It. The one I remember for sure had lymph surgery where donor and/or other lymph tissue in own body was moved from one area of the body to another.

I never had any problems with lymphedema until I got pregnant for the first time. My fourth month I was bedridden due to severe swelling in my legs and feet. It hurt to stand on my feet and then I started to not be able to feel my feet. Now 30 years later my whole body swell’s. Some days my eyes will swell shut. My fingers swell so bad I can’t close them or move them. I was recently hospitalized because they thought that I had fluid in my lungs. It seems like it never gets better. It’s just their. My arm’s look like a camel’s back with fluid pockets I’m guessing that’s what it is. I keep being told to “elevate my feet” can’t do that because my legs start to hurt, go numb, and turn all shades of different colors. I have two compression pump machines. One for just legs and whole body pump. Not helping me at all. Miserable.
