    Hyundai is making bold game changing moves which displays expertise and most importantly confidence. Like in any competitive endeavor, you know who your competition is. Hyundai is saying; I can beat you at this without any tricks,marketing strategies or class separation. Were coming at the world straight up, and on regular gas.
    15 years ago Hyundai was the laughing stock, now other manufactures are trying to look the other way, or wondering what happened. Hyundai is now the 4th largest car company in the world. Adapt or Die.

    • @thecollectorslife

      kolashnokov I have the 2011, and it is a head turner!. I have had zero maintenance issues with it. I love it. My BMW has more power and a smoother ride but in EVERY other aspect my Equus best my BMW. I highly recommend the 2011 Equus. You can get a luxurious car that you want see another at every corner.

    • @thecollectorslife
      @thecollectorslife Před 6 lety +2

      kolashnokov The body style 2011 thru 13 are exactly the same nothing really changed. The 14 did a rim change and rear tail light change but pretty much look exactly like an 11. The 14 added some additional technology the 11 don't have and stiffened up the steering. Engine is a bit more powerful in the 14 yr model but nothing extremely noticeable. Me personally, I like the more classical look of the 11-13 models. Either way u can get a used 11 thru 14 with very LOW miles for just under 20k dollars. Wow

    • @thecollectorslife
      @thecollectorslife Před 6 lety +1

      kolashnokov I agree completely. I like the G90 and in about 4 or 5 years I will buy a 2018 G90..lol..

    • @thecollectorslife
      @thecollectorslife Před 6 lety +2

      kolashnokov The K900 is a beautiful car. I don't know much about it performance or maintenance wise, but it is an absolutely beautiful car. With it also you want see one on every corner like you do with BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Kia and Hyundai have the best warranties in the business and to me that says a lot. They stand behind their vehicles. While German cars are hailed as the upper tier of luxury and performance, they suck at reliability. At 70k miles my 750i started smoking out the tail pipe when in idle for long period or when stuck in traffic. Took it to the dealer and was told this was a "common problem" with the BMW 7 series, a valve seal problem and this common problem cost me almost 4k$ to repair. Have also had to replace 02 sensor and clutch plate on the steptronic transmission for another cool 3k$, and my BMW even isn't close to a 100k miles yet. The Equus or the K900 is in my opinion the best way to go. You get the opulence and luxury of the German automakers but without the expensive maintenance and terrible reliability issues. You also get the added joy of being unique. I love being asked what is it when I drive my Equus. I love people asking me is it a Bentley (mine has the chrome 4D Equus hood ornament on the front). I love not seeing another one like it in my town. So for all those reasons, I recommend you get either the Equus or the k900.

      Here we are May 2020, and yup,! I purchased a 2014 Equus Top model fully loaded exec line for 14k and only 43k miles. It's my new daily driver for work commuting. Near Seattle so this is great to relax during the crappy rush hour traffic we have that lasts all day for some reason. One owner, garaged, serviced at Hyundai along to the owners manual. Everything done right. I straight piped it and removed nearly 100 lbs in mufflers,resonators etc. Kept the cats so it will run correctly. Installed Genesis sedan R spec lowering springs, and got it tuned in Bothell WA. She's putting 389 HP to the wheels now. So far I'm loving my Hot Rod Equus. Only one I'm sure in all N America that has mods done to it like I did. Was considering a K900 , I prefer the way that looks but I went old school with 1st Gen Equus.

    @blazecyberman totally agree, hyundai has been doing great, sonata, accent, genesis, elantra and the new veloster hyundai has improve dramatically in recent years. But with the Equus i think Hyundai is pushing it too far i dont believe many people are willing to pay 60k$ for a hyundai when they can show off in a BMW,Mercedes,Lexus etc for that kind of money. The most importan reason people buy those brand i mentioned is for show off and for 60k$ you can show off in other premium brands instead.

    Hyundai is taking a different path. Unlike Toyota/Lexus or Honda/Acura, Ford/Lincoln. I think they want to establish themselves as a Full Range Brand which would technically allow them to dominate the entire industry. Due to the fact that one brand/name caters to all customers/incomes

    @yoyoluc, Haha.uuh no! I own a 2011 E550 and upon driving the Equus, I was extremely impressed. It's going to set a whole new standard and give value a new meaning. As a Mercedes owner for years, I'm ready to trade it in to jump into this very fine automobile that not everyone and their grandmas have. It's the worst feeling when everyone around you drives the same damn car. Hence, Mercedes in a high end area. So unoriginal. Most people who make ignorant comments about Hyundai never even drove it

  • @servantofthe99
    @servantofthe99 Před 12 lety

    also go and compare it to the Audi A7 and A8.
    in order for the power delivery to be extremely smooth in a very heavy car (which is most luxury sedans) you need a high amount of torque. horsepower is the raw power produced by the engine and supplied to the wheels. torque is rotational power applied. for these cars you need high torque at relatively low RPMs to have smooth delivery. the Equus has 376 ft-lbs. @ 5000 rpm...what kind of luxury car would be revving to 5000 RPM exactly?

  • @servantofthe99
    @servantofthe99 Před 12 lety

    the A8 is $10k more. Speaking from a new car...you're not going to need any maintenance. The brakes are vented discs...all you would need is brake pad replacement just like any other car. the A7 is actually pretty much the exact price. apologies again for comparing it to an avalon...but an equally equipped new avalon hits near $45k which i don't really consider 'cheap'.
    And i assume, and i could be wrong, that people able to spend about 60-65k on a car won't mind spending a bit more
