I saw a post in a FB group where the driver called the cops on a lying customer. She had video of the cop showing up. The cop actually told the customer that she was stealing and stood there and made her call doordash in front of him.

This wouldn't work I get a lot of customers who always ask for contactless. What would be better is if DoorDash allowed us Dasher to rate the customer on how they treated us and if they answered the phone or made it hard to do our job. Ie changing items mid delivery or calling after we left to ask for additional items

During the pandemic, a food delivery driver accidentally delivered an order to our house. There wasn’t enough information on it to know who in our neighborhood ordered it so I called the restaurant where it came from to let them know. I didn’t want the customer getting upset that they didn’t get their food and I didn’t want the driver getting in trouble simply because he accidentally delivered it to the wrong house. I can’t imagine intentionally lying, and saying I didn’t get an order just to avoid paying for it. Some People are such scum.

Never confront always call support and let them know you have body camera footage and that they lied let them get kicked off. I’ve had 2 food never arrived contract violations in the past month and I just told support I would be filming it all for evidence during deliveries because the food was delivered and they were lying both times doordash removed the violations.
Yup. Might be a good idea for the corp to post that their delivery will be recorded for records, just for legality reasons. But having footage and turning it over to get the customer booted is the best way moving forward.
Exactly. Film and take pictures. Not only will the violation be removed, but Doordash will also ban the scammer. It happened to us. My daughter delivered & I was in the car taking pictures of her handing it off. Once we sent the pictures, the violation was reversed.

They may be in college and have to work jobs that are flexible because of their classes, they may have children with special needs and they have to be available to take them to numerous appointments there are all kinds of reasons that people need these flexible types of jobs. In my country, drivers always take pictures of the hand-over and upload it to prove they have delivered. No one has ever stolen from drivers who have helped them get their food. During pandemic, many customers actually order and pay for food and name the driver as the recipients of the said food as a form of their way helping drivers who definitely are poorer than the regular customers.

When it’s a “hand to me” and you’re at the door just finish the delivery before you knock or see them. Record the interaction. Make them say the name then hand them the food. This alleviates all doubt.
The body camera is a great idea. I don't know how the Door Dash system works but, there must be a way to send video. They should also have a block put on both the customer and the street address of the fraud.

It came to a stop about as fast as it started when they realized drivers are now carrying body cameras. You can get a decent body camera for around $35 and they’re tax deductible. Not only do they protect the driver from folks like the one in the video, but also unruly customers.

In my country, drivers always take pictures of the hand-over and upload it to prove they have delivered.
No one has ever stolen from drivers who have helped them get their food.
During pandemic, many customers actually order and pay for food and name the driver as the recipients of the said food as a form of their way helping drivers who definitely are poorer than the regular customers.
I'm glad he filmed this. I hope he went to police. I hope he has his job still.

Doordash deliveries require proof of delivery....you HAVE to send pic at delivery address

When it’s a “hand to me” and you’re at the door just finish the delivery before you knock or see them. Record the interaction. Make them say the name then hand them the food. This alleviates all doubt.
The body camera is a great idea. I don't know how the Door Dash system works but, there must be a way to send video. They should also have a block put on both the customer and the street address of the fraud.

@@j3marty320at one point they were making these miscreants sign for their orders. In my area it was mostly kids with credit cards left over from Covid. It came to a stop about as fast as it started when they realized drivers are now carrying body cameras. You can get a decent body camera for around $35 and they’re tax deductible. Not only do they protect the driver from folks like the one in the video, but also unruly customers.
