    I had a woman at a car dealership claim she never got the food that I handed to her. I waited a few weeks then called the sales manager and made up a story about how rude she was to me so I left and went to a different dealership to buy my car. Try to get me fired? Allow me to retort.

      We don't sign contracts with the customers. We sign them with the company.
      Sue the costomer for slander. Go to the the news and let them know you are suing a costomer for slander.
      The publicity will not be good for the apps. It will make people not want to order through them anymore.
      They want to protect lying costomers over honest drivers.
      You reap what you sow. Set examples.

    I had something similar happen yesterday. I delivered to a young woman at her employer, she works at a elderly, memory care facility in Flint Mich. It was a hand it to me delivery, she was standing outside and as I was getting out of my car, she came up to me all nicey nicey,I asked her name, she said yes and I gave her the food and drink. she almost immediately called doordash and said she never got the food. I was sitting in a parking lot about 500 yards from the Flint Township police station , so I rode over there and filed a complaint. The officer who took my complaint says that facility has security cams at the location and if it went down the way I said it did. That was it for her . I knew better than to confront her . I have no choice now than to invest in a webcam . I cant believe the stupidity of people . She didnt think it out that well cuz now shes on cam and our county prosecutor will see it..

    This just happened to me. Even had a picture the food in the app. Still got a contract violation anyway. I disputed it and contacted DoorDash customer support yet. The violation is still there. I blame DoorDash just as much as these rotten stealing customers for taking their side, not the drivers side, especially if there’s evidence.

    • @neonreign2988
      @neonreign2988 Před rokem +3

      I have a contract violation for being "22 minutes late" because I was literally stuck in traffic. The lady got her food and it was still hot by the time I delivered it. Add to the fact that she didn't give me instructions for the callbox code at an apartment (which had congested and inconvenient parking in a busy city). I disputed it via text but the violation is still there. It's infuriating! It also dropped my perfect average customer rating from a 5.00 to a 4.81. I could understand if it was an hour late, but 22 minutes?! The lady, by all accounts, is entitled and rude as hell.

      Cameras do you no good because DD and UE don’t tell you WHAT customer claimed they didn’t get their order. So, even if you record every delivery, how are you going to determine what scamming customer’s video to send to DD or UE as proof of delivery evidence? I may be wrong about this but even if DD or UE told you what restaurant the customer claimed NOT to get their food from you’d still be hard pressed to show that exact evidence because you may have delivered multiple orders that day from the same restaurant to different customers.
      This is a very perplexing issue to sort out!

    • @BalloonManAl
      @BalloonManAl Před rokem +3

      @Bob G You are incorrect and may want to go back and reread the laws. As long as you inform them in writing that they are being recorded prior to arrival, you are legal to record. I have already talked to the law as well as attorneys. I guess then that every one of those ring cameras doing recordings at every location you go to is illegal then. You make no sense. How many of those places let you know you're being recorded? The illegal part is if you put people recordings on blast across the internet without their permission. Guess every major retailer is illegal as well because there are cameras everywhere. You're recorded everywhere you go. Guess every casino is illegal as you're recorded there as well.

    If you have never heard of it before, the act of people repeating themselves over and over, "I never got no food", is what is known as The Shaggy Defense. Wiki has a pretty good explanation - "A Shaggy defense is a legal defense strategy in which a person denies an accusation with the simple defense of "it wasn't me", despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. The strategy's name is derived from reggae musician Shaggy's 2000 single "It Wasn't Me", which narrates a story of shamelessly denying one's infidelity; it was coined by Slate writer Josh Levin in 2008 to describe the defense tactics used by singer, songwriter, and producer R. Kelly while on trial for child pornography charges." Most annoying thing EVER.

    There should be no such thing as “leave it at my door” option, every delivery should be a “hand it to me,” and either a customer signature required or a 5-6 digit pin that the customer receives upon ordering and paying for the food given the driver to enter into the system upon food delivery. This policy alone would solve 99% of the “I didn’t get my food” complaints. However, truth is DoorDash refuses to fix this problem because it’s their nefarious way of thinning out the driver herd when it gets too saturated in any one area, city, or state. 😡😡😡

    So when a person doesn’t pay for their order that you delivered, what are you supposed to do? You can’t confront them because it goes against the terms of service… Are you supposed to just “eat” the loss? No pun intended. You are a thief, lady! It’s the same as buying a pair of shoes at your local shoe store and pay by personal check, then after you get home with the shoes, call the bank and cancel the check. It’s theft! You just admitted that you received the food twice! Then, once he tells you he knows you cancelled the payment, you suddenly change your story, all while you are holding the drink in your hand. He is being very decent about it by asking her to remove the complaint that says she didn’t get her food. Now he has to report that she is lying. But again, he has to “eat” the cost of her food because she is a total scumbag. Wear a body cam if you are a delivery person or at minimum, take a photo of the person receiving the delivery. It totally sucks he can be deactivated for confronting the lying customer.

    I just wish customers would say “I received someone else’s order” when they try to scam DD. Dd is a dishonest and scum company so I’m not mad at anyone for ripping off DD. just wish they knew/cared enough that they could do it in a way that doesn’t put the blame on the driver.

    You would think as a customer that most door dash drivers have body cams or a cell phone to record all interactions. It's sad that a lot of that do these deliveries have to go and do extra steps to protect our job. I don't understand their level of understanding. There are camera's everywhere. It's not that serious. If you can't afford the food and sometimes it's just a $5 sandwich cook your own food. Don't mess with people's livelihoods and income. It's weird and it's just plain wrong. At the same time it's not worth confronting a customer. It's a losing situation. smh It's crazy how the customer had the cup in her hand. People are mentally weird and crazy!

Go back to when you hand the food to the thieves so they can't say they never got the food. Only dishonest pathetic people will do this kind of thing.
