  • I finally get some parts in that I had been waiting on for months to address the poor ride quality on my truck. I could not be happier with how the new shocks perform.

How about a review on ride quality now that you've installed the Bilsteins?

napa has extensions for the style shock we have on the Duramax.
Shock extenders.... they screw on to the stud to extend it. Not sure if it would fix the issue so you could run both bushings.
    Nice truck!!

I couldn’t decide between the bilsteins or fox, my only complaint about the bilsteins are the size of the resi, but overall glad with my decision.. What are the FF brackets for.?

King or Icon would be better choices

I think he said limiting straps, so he's probably cut off the stock bumpstops for a better ride.

Im about to take my bed off and do the fuel pump seeing unit. While I have it off I was going to do my frame in the back what product do you recommend I use for the frame? Steel it or another brand chassis saver?

Honestly if i did it again i would be using steel it. That stuff holds up so well and i like the fact that its spray can so you can touch stuff up easy

Could use some advice! I have a 07 2500HD 6.0 Gasser new body style. I did the rough country 3" lift a few years ago with 35x12 tires. The kit was just upper control arms, shocks, keys and blocks in the rear. I had to do the Norcal mod and the tires still rub slightly. The truck rides like a tank! If I lower it a 1/2" the ride gets a little better but then I can't turn the wheels. Would upgrading to the Bilstein shocks help or should I bite the bullet and buy 33's? I rarely drive the truck so I'm not trying to spend a lot of money it would just be nice to not spill hot coffee on me and have interior parts falling off hitting a bump on the highway! LOL Thanks

I’m in the same position with a 2001 Silverado 2500hd 6.0 except on 20x12.5 on 33 tires. Rides like shit. Got a pregnant wife who complains all the time when I hit a tiny bump. Go down a back road shit will put your head in the sealing. I’m currently needing the same advice to get the smoothest ride I can.

@@claytonlutz6703 on 33's I would think just backing the keys down would help? I dropped my truck 1/2" and it road much better just can't turn the wheel but that's with a 3" lift I probably should have went 6". My transfer case is shot so I barely even drive it anymore it just sits in the driveway.

Did the kryptonite ucas, Bilstein 5100s and then cranked the keys down until the tires rubbed, then cranked them up until the rubbing was gone, but no higher. It still sits at a little bit of a rake but the ride is way better. Also running 33s at 45 psi.

@@StarHunter28 I haven't even touched my truck in months. I bought a 88 Fox Body Mustang project and have been non stop working on it. My poor truck id just rusting away in the driveway on a battery tender! 🥲
