If she is talking to her ex about you, there are a few problems. She keeping that ex around for a reason, talking about her current relationship is another. If she is lying about it that is another. All 3 red flags. Get rid of the problem and walk away.
I believe that preventing someone from communicating with their ex is immature and stems from insecurity.

Nah bro I can't handle this situation... this happened to me 2 years ago and I walked out... can't even keep her as a friday night only option..... just had to walk out.... I loved this girl but she did the same thing as you mentioned in this episode and I gave her one chance only and she repeated the same act and all I did was kicked her out of my car and gave her see you never again sign.

Here's something similar boys. When I first started dating my ex-girlfriend and went to her house she had a picture of her and her dead husband on the fireplace mantel. I asked her to take it down and never show any pics of her dead husband anywhere in her house again. Because I did not want to see him and it shows that she has not moved on from that.
Anyway, about 3 weeks ago I went to her house to spend the night and lo and behold, she put up that same pic of her and her dead husband on the mantelpiece. Well, I packed my gear and I left. And told her that I kicked her to the curb. It was hard to do, yet I had to keep some standards.

My supposed woman I was dating for a year did same thing. She asked for commitment in turn I asked her a questions about our relationship and she said she texts her ex about us. I said If you want to be with me on a permanent basis cut him off immediately. I told her again one more time. She began to sct very bitchy and less than 2 weeks later she pulled a trap card and basically cut me off and blocked me instead of 2 him. The trap card she laid was a small fight on the phone but it was just enough for us to quit communicating. If she talks to an ex and hides it she is not worth it. I wasted a whole year of time vetting this chick and now she's gone. Dumb but im still glad I did not commit and somehow got mostly what I wanted.
Certainly, deceiving someone is clearly not ethical, but imposing restrictions on someone from communicating with their ex is even more peculiar.
