The editing and overall lack of brand voice is to blame.
You went to Valle de GDL and did not even mention Fauna. They just won the best restaurant in Mexico for 2023. So much more to do in Valle...
This video has no right to only get 800-ish views two days after it's been posted. Especially considering that it's actually a really good review, and it's fun to watch.
Maybe The Points Guy should try to combine these videos with the The Points Guy | Departures main channel. I know the shared branding theme was likely to gain more views for this channel, but even Donut Media, a channel with 8+ million subscribers, and regularly gets about a million views on it's main channel videos within a few days of posting, has a second channel (Real Mechanic Stuff) that's also pretty popular within a niche category, and it just so happens to literally turn a 1 year old in 4 days, but it still only has 540k or so subscribers, and it gets around 400k views per video after a week and that was a spinoff of a popular series that used to be the main channel.
Hopefully the food got better at El Cielo. I've been there twice and the food on both occasions was horrible as well as the service. Only went back for the views.
