What are the Grape🍇 Varieties Of Mexico's Wine Country? The Key🔑 to Mexico's Wine Future.

  • What is the Identity of the Valle de Guadalupe? What Varietals grow the best here?
➡️ The combination of cool nights and sunshine make Baja an ideal spot for more intense red varieties. There are so many different varietals ranging from Sauvignon Blanc to Cabernet Sauvignon, but there is a clear favorite among many winemakers and sommeliers: Nebbiolo.
🍇 Nebbiolo has adapted well in the Valle, but just a few years back they were saying the same thing about Tempranillo. What is exciting is that winemakers can be creative and come up with extremely exciting blends
➡️ The mix of international grapes is increasing, the oldest vines in the region are Carignan, Grenache and Mission. Some winemakers believe these varieties also hold the key to Mexico’s wine future as they are the best adapted to the environment.
➡️ The character of Mexican wines depends on the vineyard site. It has a huge mix of soils that have been brought to the surface by the action of the colliding tectonic plates in this highly active seismic area. The most remarkable feature are the ginormous boulders that are strewn around the valley. It looks like the aftermath of giants having snowball fights, with rocks.

Can’t thank you enough for commenting and what’s amazing to me is that I got to tell the story of a wine region that is really just starting. Can you imagine documenting wine regions In France or Italy when they first started? I’m so grateful and inspired by their story.

Reminds me of the vines my great grandparents grew on the Navajo reservation. Now it is just hardened clay but this gives me hope that I can reclaim that land to grow vines again

Dear Jeff, thanks so much for taking the time and making an effort to make this documentary series on wines from Mexico and Tequila. I really appreciate that you are showing a positive side of my home country. My wife and I love doing wine tours; we have visited Napa Valley and the wine country just north of San Diego. I currently live in Austin Texas, and I would recommend you to visit the nearby wineries in Hill Country, especially Fredricksburg TX. Thanks again for these magnificently made videos; the quality of the content and photography is superb! You just won another subscriber. Also thanks so much for your service in the US Armed Forces. God Bless :)

This put a smile on my face brother thank you! My next stop is actually the whiskey trail in Texas. My goal is to bring value and education to the alcohol they are drinking. There is a story behind everything and my job is to bring that to life in my way. Still learning a lot as this is a journey of not only me learning all about beer, wine, and spirits but also how to create episodes and be in front of the camera. I’m excited for what the future holds and our episodes we have are only going to get better. Can’t thank you enough for the support. Cheers, -Jeff

Thank you very much for this wonderful video. I am from Tijuana, Baja California and I have lived in the US for over 25 years. I try to explain to people in US just how unique the wines of Baja California are, but it is not easy. In one of your Baja videos the lady from Fauna says "we re as Mexican as anyone else in the country, but we are completely different". That is so true, and it translates into our cuisine and our wines. Very high qualify, but also very unique. If people have an opportunity to visit this region, I highly recommend it. Do it now before it grows so much that it becomes a mini Napa. This place is really magical.
