    Benchmade Bugout Grey G-10
    Steel used
    Norton Water Stones 220 grit
    Norton Water Stones 1000 grit
    Norton Water Stones 4000 grit
    Norton Water Stones 8000 grit
Dlt XL Leather strop with white compound
Bess 'C' score based on 3 cut test average - 95g
In the video I accidentally edited out the 2nd cut test. The test scores were 82, 94, and 110.
The edge angle measured at 18º per side, 36º inclusive. This is from factory, as I did not reprofile the edge. I just followed the existing bevel.
This Bugout edge developed much better than my previous video, showcasing the s90v blade. The Norton Water Stones were able to handle the steel with no issue. I did mess up the angle a few times on the 4k stone, but was able to bring it back, with just a few additional passes

I was really late to the Bugout but got the CF S90v version and it is excellent.

Will share. Virtuovice and you have the best wetstone sharpening demos.

The 220 norton has silicon carbide in it right? Does the 1k also have it? The 4k and 8k are just pure white alumina iirc. I feel like Nortons are way under rated by the "community." I love that it's simple. 4 stones. A true course stone. A courser medium stone, or a finer course stone, however you wanna classify the 1k. A fine sharpener, touch up, deburring stone. And a real polishing/finishing stone. Exactly what anyone would need with no fess and no extra grits to mix and match and choose from which encourages addicts like myself to buy more than we need. Speaking of sic, I'm a big fan of the 240 and 1k sigma select 2 stones, which use green sic with I believe some kind of vitrified bonding.

Jef really good video!! I’m not aware of any other versions that aren’t coated!! The only version that interests me with a coating is the smkw m4 variant. You got a really keen looking edge from the Norton stones. Thanks as always for the knowledge and thanks for sharing brother 👊

Enjoyed the video. Nice collection of Bugouts. I'm with you on coated blades, not a big fan.

Posted a link to another version of the Bugout that you don't have, but I apologize if it violated any rules. Wasn't my intent. Love the channel.

Nice technique; has helped me with mine. Has Benchmade indicated whether they might try Magnacut steel in the Bugout?

Their web-sight hasn't updated the new 20cv in the Bugout.
