- This early gas engine has patent dates ranging from 1883 to 1899, thus probably built in the very early 1900's.
It looks like a fairly conventional 2 cylinder vertical, with zero (or 360) degree cranks for even firing, but several things seem odd about it, and there are several unused eccentrics on the camshaft. The 2 eccentrics at the center might be intended to drive magnetos, but they are 2 different diameters, and different throws. Without further investigation, it appears to be a conventional flathead design. The big silver lever at the right end is probably starting air, doesn't look to be a reverser. There is a quadrant at the right end with graduations on it, apparently to adjust the ignition timing, as the distributor drum and contacts are at the far right end. Buzz coils.
The 2 massive flywheels imply that it might have driven an AC generator.
Hopefully, one of the Coolspring guys will provide some more info.

Beautiful!! Thank you for bringing us this video!!
Thanks! I hope to get more information about the engine, it has some odd things about it.
@@SteamCrane That is awesome. I am setting top a mach9ine shop that will be populated with 1800's machines that run off a belt system run by steam. I am in Pennsylvania. So I am looking for those ty[pe of things. this is way too big but keep me in mind my friend.
Enjoyed that, thank you very much.
nice one !
