@maxlvledc question about the last bit driver adapter. Is it the right size to put on a 1/4 square (socket) adapter?
(I've heard so much about how bad the bits are (bad heat treat) but the form factor is so compelling. Being able to store more Leatherman bits in the same physical space as regular 1/4 hex bits makes me want to try them but I'd like to use a Chapman with a 1/4 square bit as the driver.)
We need more leatherman content creators
This is an excellent point.
I want a Leatherman bandolier to carry all the accessories.
It would take one to carry ALL of them…A belt maybe with them all around it…?
@@jameshoffman1842two holsters on each hip too
I feel the bit kits are underrated. People praise the regular 1/4 inch bits but dont realize you can carry 40 bits a LM ratchet driver with a Surge and have a workshop on your hip.
Carry that every day!
Yes they hate money. The Ratchet extender has been out of stock for over a year and cost over $100 to get it somewhere online
And I still bought one because I thought I needed it. Turns out, I did. Got the 90 deg. one they sell on Amazon. Every day carried
Man, with how useful these knives seem on a first glance, I just keep getting surprised again and again at how versatile these things are
You mean multi tools?
I still have the Leatherman I bought on the USS Peleliu in 96 or so when I was a Marine on deployment. Use it almost every day!
Got mine in Okinawa in 85 on my way to Germany. Still use it sometimes not every day
@@paulbosley6448 That's awesome, man!
The ratchet is a must have. And I am not overexaggerating. It is so good it should be included with every high end leatherman.
But it's not because Leatherman is just fine with money, weird...
I do agree. I am a faithful Leatherman user. I bought the very first model when it became available. I presently own 5 different models and you have to take it upon yourself to figure out which accessories you might want or need. They could definitely do better in their presenting what they offer.
Thanks for the video brother.
So basically their marketing team is one dude with a Chromebook
I would be 10x as good on the first day with a cell phone.
I go with SOG, that compound leverage is awesome! I've have issues with Leatherman saying damage was from abuse and since the tool is riveted together, it's a unit, we won't repair it for free. SOG has had no problem sending me new plier heads or accessories and I just fix it myself. It's a plus to customize it with tools that I use more regularly.
They don't do that any more btw, now that they are owned by GSM
I sent a leatherman back. Told them I broke the file trying to pry a brake pad off a railcar ..sent me a new rebar.
@@conductorcammon Lol!
I've noticed that they've replaced the riveted Squirt PS4 with a screwed together version. Much cheaper to replace one tool than the entire multi-tool.
It's sad that they discontinued the leatherman rachet driver. I'm so happy I got one before they ran out.
Really, truly- they discontinued the rathet driver?!?
The impact drive is the best one by far!
I love my Leatherman wave and yes the ratchet extension is a god send as well as well as the bit kit set they have paid for themselves time and time again
I got a wingman Leatherman with the bit accessory and an extension for a gift how are you supposed to put bits to use do they go in a special tool or leatherman
I really gotta get myself a Leatherman
And then they make custom badass multi tools that everybody wants, but they only make 100 of them and people jack the price up in the aftermarket
You’re giving me some ideas on how to spend my free time during my christmas break.
surprisingly Leatherman is doing just fine
Dude, if heaven is measured by those tools, u r already there. I love your collections! Those r limited, rare or extra fancy though 😇🤩😎😁
I literally broke my new surge yesterday trying to cut so 12 Guage wire. The pliers completely snapped in half. The medium flat head snapped last week. idk if it's just mine but the wave I had 10 years ago seemed much stronger
That's super wierd...I'd contact leatherman
25 year warranty. Did they replace it?
Um, I'm not sure Leatherman hates money. A single extender (no bits inc) for the Wave (for ex) is $20, that's really expensive. In reality, the accessories wind up being very expensive. I do however LOVE my Wave AND I have a 30year+old Leatherman thats has been well used and looks and works like new. It actually has 'patent pending' stamped on it. Even the original leather case has lasted well.
He didn't say you're not paying for quality or something, because that's what you do. Quality products cost a bit more.
What he's saying is that they could make even more money if they just "exposed" their line of products more.
It's just a clickbate title to get views it has nothing to do with real life
@@Whigu🤡🤡
Still waiting on the resupply of the ratchet driver. It's $35.oo part, I'm not spending $150 for it on the secondary market.
I've loved Leatherman since everyone in basic & AIT either had one or wanted one. This was back in mid 90s and even though not every product appeals to me, I've been nothing but satisfied and never had anything break on me. When I need it, it's there.
I wanna see you make a lock-pickers Leatherman using parts off Covert Ins. or something because they have holes on the tools perfect for adding to your EDC.
If it wasn't for good people like you making videos we would not know nothing about accessories! Thank you!
A multi tool is a self contained tool to cary for quick use when needed. You might as well carry a tool box if you’re into accessories.
Time is LOVE
Your right. Iv been hunting the proper multi tool for years. Haven’t bought one because all yuh see is the baby models in stores and there’s hardly any information online.
If I can help email me, mle.collab@gmail.com
Buy a wave plus and a bit kit. Plus an extender.
I had no idea thanks! Love my 300 super tool but didn't know about all these nifty accessories!
He's right. I use that Leatherman adapter with my Victorinox Mini Champ. The square side of the adapter fits very nicely on the philips driver/bottle opener.
The leathermans you mentioned all had pre installed lanyard loops…
Do they all? Both of my Charges and I think my list Wave came with them just not installed...
The Ratcheting bit driver and a SOG power pint are a total game changer.
Leatherman does like money 💰. They knew someone would make one of these videos b4 long. Leatherman actually saved tens of thousands of dollars in advertising when u posted this video lol
Also they're just ridiculously overpriced, so nobody really needs to know about them.
Wave pocket clip is great.
So true! I got that middle extender, from watching your videos lol
Idk why you would file down the extender, they work perfect for front iron sights. They can also be used to tighten certain bolts.
I've owned those for over 20 yrs
It's not about the money, it's about the tools we meet along the way
So glad I found your channel. Please don’t start cramming products down our throats like most do!!
Leatherman hates money 😂 so true
They do advertise just not where you think. For example my local range has a massive leatherman poster and also I think it’s one of those; the people who have it are the adverts. Like I always had it recommended to me and now I am the one saying to people hey check out leatherman; I love mine.🤔
I definitely had no idea they offered a ratchet
i found a leatherman on the side of a road and after using it a couple of times, I can see why!
Mann, you're lucky for finding it 😭
Unusual. From years of owning multiple models, I can say for sure that most are high quality pieces, but I did purchase a brand new Wave that had QC issues, got a full refund and have never had that problem again. To be honest in this, the best Leatherman's are above $100, below that it can be sketchy. For example, my Super Tool 300 is flawless, but the more budget oriented models such as the Sidekick isn't one that I'd recommend.
Couldn’t have said it better.
@@project7442
Whhhoooooooossshhh!
And his name isn’t “Mann.” It’s “Ghost Ship.” 😂
@@keirfarnum6811 😂😂
I was excited when they announced the ratcheting bit driver, up until the point if came out that it's made overseas. I pay a premium for Leatherman because they are made in USA.
my surge is about 13 years old, been through a couple of pouches over the years
Don't forget the tweezers. Leatherman tweezers are awesome!
Leatherman also hates freedom... At one point in time they were supplying tools to the atf with the words "always think forfeiture" marked on them. It was said in the event an agent isn't sure what to do, forfeiture of the item in question is always an option. I'm not saying these great Leatherman tools are not of quality, I'm just recommending we buy things from people who value freedom.
In the multitool world they are still better than the others.
Love these product s!❤
Very nice!
Awesome man can't wait for part 2
Already up 👍
It can be a simple explanation for that. The accesories are not fabricated directlly by them. If they need to sell more of them they need MORE MONEY blocked on a order to they suplier for that accesories. For the part 2: When they put discounts on their accesories, is probabilly need some money fast to pay something so they sell their existing stocks or their production slow down and the batches from the suppliers are becoming acumulating stocs and there fore blocked money flows. Also thei may do this for atracting people on their site and increasing the sales on their tools. But in my experience is that thing with batches comming from supliers as scheduled but to fast for their own production.
👍. The edges of the bit holders are excellent for prying certain things you don’t want scraped/scratched, car, electrical, knives. 🧐
Wow... I had my first Leatherman like 30 years ago and I didn't know of the existence of ANY of these... Plot twist: We sell Leatherman in our shop! (I don't personally, but we stock them)
My right ear liked this
Your title fits. I had no idea of the accessory variations.
Would love to see the pocket clip for supertool300
They should have made the Free P2 and P4 compatible with the Rebar bit adapter
They hate money but why they so expensive shit WHY!
Very good to keep in your bike tool kit. I have the victorinox ratchet kit and the spirit x multitool
Good point. Why don't they do an accessories vid? Is it because the accessories aren't guaranteed like the tools themselves? Maybe they don't have to as lots of CZcamsrs see this as a miss and are keen to show their accessories thereby doing the job for them, and with genuine enthusiasm.
Yes, its true- Leatherman hates money!
I wish they made the bit sets configurable with a wider variety available. I only need metric Bits and could use a few more of them instead of imperial ones.
Great company and a warranty program that can’t be beat.
I will take exception with the nylon sheath that has the inner pocket for the bit holders and two outer pockets for bit extensions. I Now I have had to sew up the bottoms to keep the extensions from slipping out. And how about making an extension that works with drill motors.
I have used and owned those accessories for nearly as long as I have been a Leatherman Tool owner fast approaching 40 years
so true, but glad they don't so we can get the info from you!
Leatherman is awesome
I've had a Leatherman for years and I never knew any of these things existed.
Wave is the best tool a man or woman could ever own. There is no debating 🤷♂️ I’ve had one all my life since the very first one .
All multitools without corkscrew are goes straight to the trash😮
…. Figure it out …. Soldier! 🇺🇸🗽
if only leatherman would make/release more of the ratchet bit holders, i’d buy it but no way imma pay 200 for it 2nd hand.
I thought you would pull out the piece you're pointing out in the thumbnail so we can see it.
What do those bit drivers and adapters attach to on the tools?
recently bought the leatherman bit adapter set... I also wanted the bit kits and the leatherman Style PS... but both were old out and the bitkits will reportedly only be available in europe next year...
so I just got the bitadapter and now I didtched the other items and found other solutions..
I had no idea. I’ve needed a ratcheting attachment for probably decades and didn’t realize it exists.
Like I said..their marketing team..needs to be fired.
Surge has lanyard built in on the end already
The wave and charge have a built in lanyard hole as well.
Where can you get that black leather with the red stitch holdster in the upper left corner?
Ah, yellow birtch outfitters.
Lots of companies are sooo bad at marketing
Which I can't understand at all...for got sakes it's how you make your money!
*Leatherman™️* relies on word of mouth and brand superiority for their advertising.
Except the wave already has a built-in lanyard ring, and they don't tell you that
I want a pocket clip for my rebar.
Personally I think all of these are pointless because the whole point for it, is to easily fit into any pocket (with the exception of the pocket clip of course, which is a must-have for sure).
Im using Surge/Super Tool 300M with one bitset and Rachet bitdriver
"Leatherman takes the leather out of you" unofficial text phrase. Catch it! Ooh it's a hot potato 🥔 🔥
All the bits on my leatherman broke. Since then I am using a swiss army knife.
Oh and the black coating got ugly sooo quick.
I just want a pocket clip for my rebar
Ave a letherman charge+ Woodland camo. Year and half of use and one of the pliers completely snapped off. Never had that happened before. Trying to pull a bent nail out . The material looks ceramic almost. Don't know what it is. I still have to send it in to them. Gotta love their warranty! The bit holder you have, what is the thing in the middle? Looks like a wedge? I could never figure out what it was. I think I looked for it on their site.
I'd really like some tool blanks for my Leatherman wave in several different thicknesses. I have ideas for unique tools to replace the ones I done use. Any ideas?
you dont even need the letherman tool....the bit driver case can mount the drivers/ratchets and function as a handle in a pinch......
This is a me problem. I first heard of and bought a Leatherman about 1989. Used it for several months. Got so frustrated with it I simply threw it away. A few years later. I discovered Gerber. Love and own multiple Gerber multi tools.
Can’t find the second part
Actually there is only one extender and that is the ratchet. It is so good holy shit. If you don't have it yet buy it right now immediately. It's a game changer and you won't regret it.
Only issue I have with it is strength..just don't put too much pressure
I wish I could find a pocket clip for my 300. That would be cool!
I got you: amzn.to/3BnE2zo
@@maxlvledc Dude thank you! These look awesome, I might put one on my phone too. So many options of what to hang on my pocket now.
Can you do a video or short on upgrades for the MUT
Hard to top perfection...but have you seen how the swisscard scissor fits in one of the bit slots??
If you go to the leatherman store on-line & check out accessories you can find all these products & more. But no videos, as it's quite obvious how to use them.
Do you know where to get a sheath that will hold a bit kit and a Super Tool 300 (as shown in the video)?
Would be 180 to get the bit set and ratchet screwdriver
Is there a special tool to use for bits I got two sets of the bits a Leatherman wingman and an extension for a gift I've never known how to use the bit sets or what you put them in is it a special tool
What about a replaceable saw for the OHT lol
Swisstool is SO much better anyways…
As a fan and owner of Leatherman tools for a lonnnnng time, I've learned that Leatherman is low-key about being exclusive. The "club" knows all about these goodies, but the common buyer has no idea. It's kind of like the Glock or Beretta clubs. My Super Tool 300 is a spoiled brat, it's always with me, but NOBODY gets to handle it or use it except me.
I have a Leatherman Rev And I'm almost afraid to ask people for reviews. I feel like it's one of the more hated ones. I like it but I don't love it
