- The purpose of me requesting they react to songs like these is just to expose them to music they may or may not have heard before, to expand their horizons and to sate my curiosity over whether they will like them or not.
I am responsible for the song choices, what I choose to request so if want to complain about that then that's fair game but if want to complain about Ashtyn or Jon's reaction just remember this is not their channel and by proxy it is very unlikely they will read your comments unless I personally pass the message on next time I speak to them...however I have zero interest in passing on any vindictive, rude or spiteful comments.
They do these for me and I just post many of them here in case other people might also be curious about what they think of these songs too after they send me the videos and I have watched them myself. As mentioned this is not their channel, if you wish to visit their channel it can be found listed below.

Wow, one of the most emotionally and impressive pieces of dancing you are ever likely to see and they look as if they’ve been reading a train timetable.
I think her face would break if she smiled...
😂😂👍
Don’t worry, her face is always like this - she is fine - I think she is always very tired.
I agree , she looks like one spoilt brat ???
Must be related to Kaitlyn Collins!😅
If only they could show the slightest interest. The most uninspiring of reaction hosts.
As if they could be less interested. I'd rather watch paint dry than spend five minutes with either of them
Wow, she rolling her eyes. Ok it isn’t for everyone but you’d surely appreciate the art of the dance.
The both of them talked over all the best bits while not watching it. Quite an achievement.
Came across this by accident, Jesus these two have no clue. Thanks for insulting an entire nation.
@@aoife6588 those 2 educational system is poor. Rep of Ireland has one of the highest Edu system in the world.
I’ve seen corpses with better reactions
dips😅
Don’t get too excited guys, you might fall off your chairs…
The irony of two of the worlds most stationary and subdued people watching one of the most energetic and absorbing dance events ever! 😂😂😂
worst reaction video ever she would be as well off going to bed,he continues to talk about a satin shirt while some of the best dancing of all time is happening.absolute painful to listen to.
Disrespectful guys. And if u don't know why, you never will.
Why would two people with so little appreciation, understanding and love of dance even dream that they should review a classic??
Wow, who are Ashtyn and Jon? Pretty sure a volcano could erupt in their living room and they still wouldn't get excited, unless there was some cash stapled to to the lava.
The woman couldn’t look more bored if she tried! She look bored and disinterested the entire time and you both don’t have a clue what you’re talking about!
She looks sooo miserable what's the point in doing the video
I hold back tears every time I see this. That was the most underwhelmed reaction. You're a victim of American plastic culture
This couple makes watching paint dry an exciting event. No clue how to watch this program.
Irish dancing has existed long before Riverdance.
This was incredible. It was such a new experience. Shame you didn't really appreciate it
I have never seen two people look more disinterested and bored with what they are watching. lol. Perhaps they didn't understand the amazingness of this performance?
For those who want to know, Michael Flatley was born to Irish Immigrants in America, his mother was a champion Irish Stepdancer and he learned stepdance from childhood he became a champion middleweight boxer and had five knockouts. In the early 80s, he decided to make dancing his profession and won several local awards eventually returning to his family's land of Ireland. When the Eurovision competition was held in Ireland that year they asked him to come up with something for their intermission. This was the introduction to the world of Riverdance and an updated version of the ancient form of Irish Stepdance. He went on to create a full-length show, and later Lord of the Dance, at one point his feet were insured for 53 million and he eventually with all of his shows and touring made a net worth of 1 billion dollars. Most importantly he brought Irish Pride into a time when Ireland was having a resurgence of Irish identity after centuries of Ireland and Irish famines, wars, and being told it was dirty to be Irish. Nobody remembers the other acts of Eurovision that year, they remember the lesser halftime show Riverdance. As an American, you should have pride in this and at least study your history. You give credence to Americans looking ignorant especially when the most important thing about Riverdance was showing the value of this truly beautiful heritage that was displayed by an Irish-American
I'm Irish I couldn't agree with you more and I would just like to add that the Irish nation and it's people cherish that connection with the US deeply. It is enshrined in our constitution which was amended by a 94% majority to reflect that fact.
Article 2
It is the entitlement and birthright of every person born in the island of Ireland, which includes its islands and seas, to be part of the Irish Nation. That is also the entitlement of all persons otherwise qualified in accordance with law to be citizens of Ireland. Furthermore, the Irish nation cherishes its special affinity with people of Irish ancestry living abroad who share its cultural identity and heritage.
great comment, Riverdance is great!!!
In order to make a reaction video, it helps to, ya know, have a reaction. Highly talented dancers. Very impressive performance. But clueless face like a smacked arse.
Btw day/month/year. Small to large. It's called logic. Makes more sense.
😂😂😂😂
This guy is and still is i believe world record for taps in a minute.. show respect.. this isn't easy and these people take years and start so young to learn just a little.
River dance wasn’t just an incredible piece of mastery. It was the beginning of change and questioning in Ireland. It was beginning to feel proud of itself....to shake off the repression of a terrible history. I was 14 when I watched it live on that night . The pride of being Irish burned through my soul. I adore my country....our music, our dance, our words, our humour ....best country in the world to live
I agree with 98% of what you say, though we are not the best, we are the good'st country in the world. We watch and we learn. Also, Riverdance 2K21 MO CHARRRRAAAAAAA!!! :-D
@e mu Absolutely top notch entertainment ! I watch this a couple times every year. Glad it instilled a renewed pride in the wonderful traditions of your beautiful country.
But I must add this as a proud American myself. Micheal Flatley, the lead male dancer and choreographer of this marriage of traditional 'hard shoe' Irish dance with American tap was born and raised in my home town, Chicago, IL. And Jean Butler, lead female, is from Mineola, N Y. Glad American Irish could contribute to this outstanding performance.
It isn't a magic trick to be "how did they do that", your suppose to be quiet, listen with your heart and soul...allow your senses to emerge into what you see, hear and let this take over your feelings...i remember watching this, i was 15, a teenager who knew everything LOL...but i was enthralled that night when i saw this wonder, it burnt into my heart that night, and is still with me all these years later. It still fills me with wonder and joy even today when i watch it. Magic was created without any special effects...all natural beauty....i remember when i went back to school...most of the school was talking about it for weeks.
I'm the exact same n I get a welling in my heart of pride n sometimes cry( ok all times)
Is she just emerging from a coma or what? 💤😴💤
I imagine you two would be sooo much fun to spend some time with, I think three minutes would be my max and I'd be gone, fast. There's as much chemistry between you as there is between two flat tires.
Think you’re confusing riverdance with traditional Irish dancing that has been around for centuries, river dance is essentially a modernized version of that!
This was completely lost on you two
had to laugh when ashtyn said she could learn it, you'd have to start at 3 yrs old.....they were not just dancing but tapping with full leg motion in perfect unison
Agreed... you'd have to be learning dance from 3 or 4 like I and many others did. Most started doing ballet when we were 3 or 4 and went on to specialise in certain disciplines.. jazz..free style..tap.. and so on. To learn to do river dance..yeah I'd have to agree..start when your 2 or 4 dancing then move on... besides that ..the girls that did tap in our company started doing tap when they were 5. And it's so hard.. your feet bleed SO MUCH and as a ballet dancer, I thought my feet were f up. But at the age of 11 when we did Andrew lloyd Webber.. I saw their feet.. and I rmbr thinking.."thank God my mother only made me do modern and ballet"
HUGE RESPECT TO THE DANCERS.
My sister started at 9-10 years old and shes won 3 world championships and 4 European titles so to say you have to start at 3-4 years old is bullshit
I started dancing in my teens 🤷♀️
Jean Butler only started about 11. Anyone that talented would probably be a top ballet dancer if she set about it!
The most powerful country in the world produced these 2. God help us all😱😱
Ive never see such dull reaction to Riverdance.. usually in illicits a visceral reaction.😢😢
So many emotions on her face, for example there is boredom and uh, yes, that's it ...
LOL,well said..Couldn't look more uninterested if she tried.Everytime I see this clip I get the chills, stunning music AND dancing.
Lol wow you people this was the biggest thing ever happened in dance and you didn't get it 😂
Michael Flattely still holds the record fastest feet in world 35 taps a 1sec
I have watched your videos quite a few times, but can't subscribe because your wife / girlfriend looks so bored and pissed off its depressing watching
Actually is Traditional Irish Dance with a modern twist, Irish Dance has more than 850 years of existance and Riverdance is a modern form of Irish Dance.
Claqué or Tap Dancing is a Fusion of Traditional Irish Dance and African Boot Dance, that's why is often confused.
The woman in the audience at the end of the show was Mary Robinson (Red dress)
In 1994 she was the President of Ireland
She was 1 of the only 2 Female Presidents to ever hold the title.
The best President Ireland ever had
Barley paid attention, talked the whole way through.
Christ...this is outstanding. Going on to become a global phenomena! Is there something amiss with this girl that she can't recognize this?????
Not the first time I've seen this reaction to greatness here, believe me!
"Could you do it?" he asks her. Hahahaha! Sure she could, if she had started training when she was five years old and practised for two hours every day for the following twenty years.
I decided to watch a few reaction videos to understand the genre, which still largely baffles me. This one is a real peach -
a reaction video from two people incapable of reaction after recently having emotional botox, with negative charisma and an apparent pride in their monocultural nonplussedness. I'm pretty sure they are both energy vampires.
Fantastic. Get away while you still can.Its too late for me
Try Jinx. He's even worse. Completely blank face at all times.
The Fine Brothers have received a lot of shit, much of it deserved, but they do know how a reaction channel actually works. But even a good one gets boring after a while.
Well, I was looking for a way to describe these two but you have done an excellent job.
Well at least one person enjoyed it. His partner really didn't care. Irish dancing goes back HUNDREDS of years ago. Riverdance was created in 1994. Old Irish dance was very very rigid. Very stiff. Riverdance was a release of everything, and breathed new life to Irish dance. Even to this day, it makes me proud to be Irish. Magical. I was 12 in 1994. Watched this live on TV.
Me too! I was 10,& wanted to take it up sooo much (but being halfway through my RADA Russian method Ballet Training & exams at the time (which cost a large fortune & considerable time), it wasnt really feasible....
Will NEVER FORGET watching this live though!!!!
@@awopbopaloobopawopbamboom5041 Hi, I was not born during that time but always wondered what was the response to river dance was like? How did people thoughts on it? As well as what were your thoughts on it when you first saw it?
@@attilatang6491 Everybody was enthralled and gobsmacked!! Like they said, all those people tuned in to watch the Eurovision Song Contest (wasn't much else on TV back then!) ...and suddenly the interval act comes on and super-eclipsed the entire show!! There was a reason it turned into a multibillion dollar act that travelled the world to sold out audience after audience for twenty five years.(what they did to Michael Flatley wasn't one but right though!!; hence his shows selling out for longer as well... people wanted to back him up after Riverdance threw him to the wolves with no loyalty the way they did) His shows are still touring, albeit without him, Riverdance isn't... So the right thing happened eventually!!
@@attilatang6491 "Hi, I was not born during that time but always wondered what was the response to river dance was like?"
That's an odd question.
"think you could do it?" "yeah, duh" says the most bored person on the planet
Most professional Irish Dancers learn from when they are young, like starting off at 4 upwards. Its not just something you can pick up over night.
When you keep calling Irish dancing tap dancing is actually quite disrespectful tbh 🤷♀️
Lauren Egan I agreed.
100% agree
why?
This is not tap dance. It's called Irish step dancing. Absolutely amazing!
Tap dance likely descends from it.
Day, month, year. It makes sense. So does Celsius over Fahrenheit
irish dancing is not tap dancing jeez, this is an ancient dance older than alot of countries
A charisma free reaction video if I ever saw one!!
It goes day month year . Shortest to longest YOU changed it not us . We used it before your country existed .
Stop talking the whole time over the video. I’m Irish and it’s insulting. You didn’t get the significance of this moment. 300 million people around the world watched this epic dance. Irish dancing has been around for generations. Please research a video before u make any comments. Please stop you are embarrassing yourselves. Who cares about Wikipedia. 😡
I've seen quite a few reaction videos on different types of music and performances, but I've never seen anyone as bored an uninterested as the girl in this video. All she was short of doing was pulling out her iPhone and checking her messages.
Reaction videos are supposed to generate a reaction? I understand that a particular performance may not be your 'thing' but surely you can appreciate the skill involved?
I may not be particularly crazy about jazz for example but if I am reacting to a Miles Davis session for example I am still able to admire the musical skill of the guy.
Sorry guys but I don't think reaction videos are your thing if your reaction consists of sitting there looking bored.
Hat-tip!
I watched it live, and too this day it's one of the most amazing things I have ever seen
same, I was also lucky to watch it live on stage.
As of today when I watch this video here it will be THIRTY YEARS since Riverdance came out - 1994
So much enthusiasm from the two viewers! Yeah, don't think I'll be subscribing.
You really should research Ireland a little bit more, it’s called Irish Dancing and it’s an expensive business, It’s also been around 200years, Riverdance was an interval act but became a stage show
The original type of dance is called Ceilli and it's 3,500yrs old.
He knows all about it - he is “part Irish” 😂
It's apparent that you are not thrilled about this video. Perhaps if you listened and paid attention to this wonderful video, you might learn something. Sorry, this is one channel I won't watch again.
Riverdance is famous also because Michael Flatley danced with loose arms, relaxing his upper body which isn’t traditional. Jean Butler as you can see danced traditionally keeping her arms by her sides. So it literally is the old form of Irish dance with the new form.
And the loose blue shirt I think represents the river 😂 - nothing else.
As soon as she moaned about how we write the date … day before month .. I decided not to watch .. she immediately came across as quite a negative and cold person .. I then read some comments and glad I did not not watch ..
Me: One of these is gonna say they're Irish. Just wait.
Him: I'm part Irish...
Me: THERE IT IS.
My ma is an all words Irish dancing champion and was offered the main part of RiverDance a few years later. She turned it down to raise me. Also ITS NOT TAP DANCING OR BALLET
Why would you assume they were going to say that they’re Irish? I’m American and no one brags about being Irish. No one cares
@@keithrog73 have you been living under a rock? It's all we hear from Americans is "Oh your Irish? That's so cool! I'm irish too!" Its literally a running joke here 🤣
@@moonwalker98787 there’s a lot of people who’s ancestors came here from Ireland. In the early years they were looked down upon by people. There was an old slogan back then when people were looking for a job, “no Irish need apply”. It gives you insight on how the Irish were perceived in early America. Unlike you, I’m not judging an entire group of people by their heritage, but your delusional idea that Americans are bragging about being Irish is just wrong. No one is impressed with Irish heritage around here. It’s so common to have some irish blood in you that it means nothing. Irish people in America are just considered white. We don’t obsess with heritage like you do. If you talk to an American and they say they’re part Irish they’re probably telling the truth, and are just trying to bond with you as a kind gesture. You’ve taken that kind gesture and used it as a way to inflate your ego and create some sort of delusional self-importance. Sorry to break it to you, but it’s true.
Not to be rude but she seems so miserable on every video
I've seen a couple of other videos where she's been yawning her head off.
@@decodolly1535 Fun fact: yawning can also be a sign of excitement.
But hey, let's rather dislike her for the sake of disliking her.
It wasn’t until the 18th century when Irish dancing became more disciplined and the styles and formations we know today came about. This was all down to the emergence of the Dancing Master, a teacher who travelled between villages and towns holding lessons for peasants. This is how group dances came to the fore; it was a simple way to have all pupils in a class involved in one dance. The best dancers from each community where given the status of ‘soloists’, i.e they were given special sections of the song to show off their talents and dance alone in the spotlight. When this happened, doors would be placed on the floor to give the dancer a makeshift stage and a solid platform to perform on. There was stiff rivalry between dancing masters from different territories, which is what gave rise to the modern dance competitions that take place today.
You two give an entirely new meaning to the word moronic.
Is she being held as hostage? How could you appreciate it listening with just one earpeace?
Could she look any more depressed?
This form of dance is older than the USA , it is connected to the Arab-Celtic Palestinian & Scottish dance.
No wonder they're the perfect couple, no brains make a perfect pair. 👌 pat on the back for you.
Wow... You two need to realize what you just watched was a bolt of lightning hitting a unicorn
God she looked bored 😅
J. C!! Ye talked & talked away about Michael Flatley's FECKIN SHIRT through the entire duration of the most impressive bit of the performance: his Solo!! (not to take away from the other dancers, but he's the Superstar!!
You're talking about a man who SET THE WORLD RECORD for taps PER SECOND (!!! Jaw on floor) of 28 taps p. s (!!!!) in 1989; a feat (pun intended) that no one prior to that had come even remotely close to!!
THEN, he subsequently smashed his own record in 1998 (approaching 40 years of age, I might add), by achieving an ABSOLUTELY STAGGERRING 35 TAPS PER SECOND!!! We're talking individual, distinguishable from one another, taps of his feet (of course, at that speed, they need to record it & play it back slowed down considerably to even decypher each tap, & count them to a stop watch!), but i highly doubt anyone else will come anywhere close to achieving that ever again!
There only is, and will only ever be, ONE Michael Flatley!!! Very nice man too....
28 taps per second? How is that possible...
Edit: I read further. 35 TAPS PER SECOND? HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?!
👏👏👏 glad I'm not the only one that was thinking this!!
Reaction video but I didn’t see any reaction. I think the cat probably had more reaction 🤣
Your enthusiasm is so underwhelming……strange
Riverdance is a PERFORMANCE, the style of dance is IRISH DANCING
so glad you both stopped doing reaction videos
If u paid attention guys you'd see all was explained on the screen as they danced. Bit disappointed. I love these dancers and seeing them for the first time in the interval of the Eurovision Song Contest was amazing. Irish dance itself differ from Riverdance and goes back many many generations in Ireland.
Omg...really? You two should find out where half of your relatives come from. They just haven't got a clue about anything in the world. Mind you, at least they were fun to laugh at.
This was MASSIVE when it first came out, a new, fresh version of traditional Irish dance, and this was the first performance. The audience was blown away, it dwarfed the Eurovision contest of 1994, and it started a revival of Irish dance. This was Michael Flatley, the greatest Irish dancer, probably of all time, at his peak, with the delightful Jeane Butler.
most Irish dancers have been dancing since they were 3 or 4 years old.
Thank you someone had to say it.. Most good professionals started at that age. I started at 3 and by 11 was in the state junior section for ballet and modern dance.. and I can't do this. I've worked with the tap section of our dance company and they find this astounding and beautiful. They confess that even for them.. this would take alot of extra training to do. And that stupid ignorant couple think they can learn to do it.... HAHAHA yeah maybe after 15 years of training.. if your joints don't give in and you okay with tons of blisters and blood in your shoes and having to dance through the pain coz your a professional like we did.. yeah whatever... there is no way in he'll she could learn and shed probably give up after the first ache... clearly does NOT know what it takes
I've seen river dance live... the whole audience gave them a standing ovation and most of us were in tears.. I wish these dumbasses would do some actual research. I guess the only made themselves look stupid.
Saw the full stage performance when I was a child in the 90s. It was so magical to me that I would try to dance like them.for a whole week 😂
It blows my mind that people have never seen a river dance performance
Jesus lady what is your problem. Get a job.
I have watched several of their so called reactions and my God, as far as she is concerned there was more emotion from Marvin the Paranoid Android than her.
Guys, this is one if not the greatest piece of riverdance masterpiece ever created in hisory, commend i more!
Agreed and these two are ignorant as fuck.
@@secondchance6603 exactly, they both look bored, he kept talking, called himself 'part irish' and then called irish dancing tap dancing and ballet. *sigh*
There's a reason we're a minority to the world. We only make up less then 0.07% of the worlds population and yet all these millions of Americans seem to think they're irish
That bird looked bored to tears
She always does
Them pair need to come to Ireland if they return home with manners and nothing else that would be an achievement in it self.🇮🇪🇮🇪
A stern nun with a snappy ruler should do the trick!
Stop talking to each other and watch what you are meant to be commenting on!
When I see reactors that can't be bothered with a headphone splitter and their own headphones I don't bother.
Irish lady here living in Ireland lol do not call are traditionall Irish dancing tap it's being going from dawn of irish clan times
So sour faced is that girl.
Does the fact that Americans call Irish dancing 'river dancing' drive anyone else crazy?

ignorance is bliss they say, maybe, but this stupidity from commentators is infuriating.
I have not seen anyone react to this with so little interest.
would be better if we could hear music more than your yappin!!!
Riverdance are still going, they are amazing.
This vid should be taken down Those 2 folk are so detached
That girl looks bored out of her brain God love her Joan ireland
Riverdance was born in 1994, they are brilliant
you literally don't react XD
You were too busy drinking your coffee and she was too busy looking bored. You didn't get it. Watch again
And talking over the amazing music!
Tell me you didn’t get the hairs on the back of your neck standing up when the dance reached the finale? I watched the Eurovision and it still is very emotional watching it. You guys don’t need to know if it is good or not it’s about what you feel but you seem to always have a weird slant on what you are watching…
