  • New tool alert! Paslode has finally dropped the PPN (Positive Placement Nailer) on the market. We have been using ours for a little while now and are excited to finally announce it. If you install joist hangers in your day job, you will want to seriously consider this new tool. Most ergonomic, light weight, and fun to use hose free PPN on the market currently.
    The Metabo Nailer is good, this is just much better to use.

    I bought this nail gun as we were planning to renew all the fencing in our back garden. As this involved 19 double slatted fence panels, 10 of which needed to be cut down in size, we knew there would be a need for a great czcams.com/users/postUgkxHQsUrwNr5GQrnx9V4xDdUr56qxwuiBHt deal of re-stapling the wooden slats to the wooden framework. Each alteration required the re-stapling of 62 wooden slats with double staples. Prior to starting the work we ordered sufficient additional staples as per the instructions with the gun.The gun performed fantastically throughout the entire project with no jams of misfires. The adjustable power was excellent allowing the staples to be fired into the 8mm slats to the correct depth. For the price paid this was a bargain and it proved itself to be so reliable and versatile making an arduous task much quicker and professional. I cannot recommend this product highly enough and it will be used on many other projects in the future.

    Pasload has been around forever. I’m 57, and my dad was using Pasload when I in my early teens. They used to have trucks go around to construction sites in Okc, Norman and Moore Oklahoma. I don’t really see that from them now, but there was always a shop close somewhere

    Probably the best Ryan’s czcams.com/users/postUgkxGZedDTcDfgD7fG_uU4esfx_EgxzlY2_1 Plans on building a shed is hardly ever found. And Ryan takes the mystery out of different types of foundation options, etc. He even shows how to build a shed with different designs. Very comprehensive, covering different roofing materials, siding, etc.

    One thing to remember for those that may not use a fuel cell for a few years is that they have a shelf life. I pulled out my framing gun and it wouldn't fire. Tech support said put in a new cell that was recently purchased. Worked fine.

    I work for Ace Tool in Wantagh NY if you're ever in the area swing by. This video reminded me of the new Grex nailers they use a very small propane gas canister combined with two AA batteries. Probably the latest battery system I've seen yet. The propane never expires like the Paslode gas and you get 30,000 shots per charge

    I love my Bostitch F33PT PPN and Framer AIO. I just hate that they did not provide or make a case to keep your Contact's in or to keep just for nice storage. I have missed placed my PPN contact a few times to only find it a year later after I bought a replacement! FYI if you have not seen/used this nailer, you can swap out the contacts from Framer to PPN with a pinch, pull, and swapping nails. but like you said, pulling a hose and compressor out for a hand full of nails or just tripping on everything. I ended up getting the Paslode CFN325xp this past December and it is pretty awesome when I have just a few nails to send or when I am up on a ladder/roof. It took me a while to finally pull the trigger on the Paslode due to having to buy a fuel cell. the only issue I am finding is that when I am about to start a project and need some fuel cells, I can not find them instock at any Lowe's or HD. I can do Amazon but they are not same day or next day shipping.
    Thanks for the info and take care!

    Awesome video! I was using a palm nailer and it's a nightmare because the nail moves around before the first hit and many times I drive the nail at the wrong angle sideways, but this seems like a much better option, thanks for the slow mo video, I couldn't figure out how the heck it finds the hole until you showed that clip. Also would love to see you make a video on the Paslode TetraGrip Siding Nailer.

    The thing i don't like about the dewalt ppn is, it's difficult to see the point of the nail so i find myself nailing by braille. Also the gun needs to be almost perfectly straight to be able to push the plunger and shoot making it a pain when you are hanging from rafters or reaching from a ladder.

    @FixitFred Před rokem

    I love my Senco pneumatic PPN nailer its awesome. I would love a cordless ppn. That paslode gun looks very nice but two things I don’t love 1 - The fuel it stinks and the recharge time and added cost 2 - I really don’t like blow molded cases they are so bulky. Nowadays every vendor has a real case wether its packout, systainer, tstak, tough system, ridgid case. If every vendor now has a great framing nailer do we still need gas nailers. Lastly cleaning out a dirty paslode nailer after thousands of nails is not exactly a great time.

    • @jeffshackleford3152
      @jeffshackleford3152 Před rokem

      What recharge time are you referring to with the Paslode?
      There is no added cost like he said, that is part of COGS and therefore the client pays for it, ir doesn't cost you anything and if you do it right you make money on it through markup.
      The only thing I don't like, is it doesn't use the framing or trim fuel cells, which are standard off the shelf at every box store.

    • @FixitFred
      @FixitFred Před rokem

      @@jeffshackleford3152 There is added cost if you are a homeowner using it and not a contractor. There has been like three or 4 types of paslode gases over the years this is annoying and the exhaust from the gun stinks.

    • @jeffshackleford3152
      @jeffshackleford3152 Před rokem

      @@FixitFred the discomfort from the exhaust is much less than the discomfort from the tennis elbow from slinging around a battery gun.
      If you are a homeowner ( I assume you mean diy person), then the cost savings not paying professionals more than pays for the tools and gas.
      It is like 15 dollars ( off the shelf HD) per fuel cell and that is super expensive compared to some online places.

Less powerful than the battery nailers (rarely get through the native timber here in NZ), requires quite a lot of maintenance, fuel is relatively expensive (even if you pass the cost on to customer, it's just made your quote more expensive), misfires in cold weather.
