Roberto Baggio carried a whole nation to the finals with that sorry team that year. Then, for the rest of his life, he had to endure the humiliation of one mistake, where even if he scored, Brazil can still win with the last penalty shot. It’s not like he scored and it’s tied.

The Maldini free kick he scored at the liverpool-AC Milan legends match a few years ago was incredible, literally the whole ground went silent and then the whole ground stood and applauded for about 3 minutes in utter disbelief of what we had just witnessed! "It was truly magical".

The best has got to be Roberto Baggio. I get it that Maldini is Mr Consistent and rock solid at the back even as a left back.
However Baggio was a talent bar none. He is the ultimate Italian Number 10. Playmaker, Striker and prolific goal scorer.
In World Cup 94, he carried Italy on his shoulders to the final, in a team that relied heavily on him to score.
